Brace yourselves... a lengthy review is coming. I went to The Vault for I believe the 4th (5th??) time yesterday. I have been fortunate to see Aubrey each time. Bummer, she was sick yesterday, but I got to see Kate in a pinch! Either way, if you've known me long enough, I spend much more on hair than the average adult male. So I'm pretty particular and will not go back to a place that isn't doing what's trending and also doing a quality job. In Texas, I was fortunate enough to have the BEST lady for years and years, and have since been riding the struggle bus in Washington. **side note... wtf WA guys??? It's like a hip place for a men's haircut simply is not a thing here. Back to The Vault, they are (as the kids say) all slap and no cap . I'm legit ALWAYS the only guy in the whole place when I go. I still don't get that about the PNW, but whatever. If you are a guy and want a haircut that may or may not be decent scissor and clipper work, and is also not a style made popular within the past decade... then maybe this isn't for you. However, if you want something trendy and well done, and you are willing to spend a little dough to get it... go see literally anyone at The Vault. /JD out. read more

I booked an appt after I had walked passed this salon. I was booked with Renee. I am a busy mother of 2, working professional and had no clue what I wanted to do. I wanted natural blending in with my undyed hair with low upkeep. I have natural red toward the ends of my hair and I asked if maybe she could match that so it would blend in, subtle. Renee understood the assignment and added dimension to my hair! She gave me a beautiful haircut with layers and a color that blends in with my natural hair. I went to the Everett location and got my Hair cut by a man named Michael I will never go back nothing against any of the other hair dressers they are all amazing. Whoever owns these two places did not Handel the situation in a professional manner . I went in with a full head of hair and came out with a chopped up looking style that I did not ask for . They fixed my hair and the snohomish location. Never heard back from the Everett location . Hopefully this helps someone make a decision. Thank you to all the ladies at The Vault! From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left, I had such a great experience. Everyone was so attentive -- making sure I had hot coffee, that I was comfortable in my chairs, and of course how I wanted my hair. I received balayage, cut, and treatment. Angela spot on knew what I was looking for and needed for in my balayage. She did a phenomenal job with the new color and cut. She also did a tenacity test to see what nutrients my hair was lacking. They mixed a customized treatment and a couple minutes later my hair was back to life. Afterwards my hair was given product, dried and styled into the beachy look I was after. I received so many compliments on my hair from cut to color to style! I highly recommend this salon. I will be back for sure! read more

I had my haircut from this near by shop today, and was greeted by a very nice lady who had told me her English was not very good. Honestly she speaks English better than most locals. She was very detail oriented, and put in more effort than any stylist I've dealt with before. Regarding the haircut I was happy to hear someone who is actually giving suggestions, and takes so much care into the little things. Worst salon I have ever we been to. Worst customer service. The gals at the front desk are very rude. They screw up your appointments in the system then say it's your fault. They text you a time and then call and say it was a different time. I'm very disappointed in the way they take advantage of people. If you pay an expensive price for a haircut, that should include drying your hair, charged me an extra $45 to dry my hair. Then on top of that another extra $45 for some treatment she did not ask if I wanted, just put it on the bill. I'm a business owner and would never treat my clients this way. So about a week and a half ago I booked appointments for my daughter and I to go in and get haircuts. I went first, asked for 3 inches off. When my daughter came in, she asked if I even stated my cut.... My stylist said yes, I cut 3 inches off. Floor was bare, no hair. I watched her cut barely an inch off, but figured she'll go for more later. Nope she didn't. Girls turn.. Came home super sad because it was uneven. Messaged the owner and told her what happened. Said someone else could cut my hair, but I'd rather be at a time when the other stylist is not there. Told me she could do it on a Sunday, but the stylist will probably be there and she already knew the circumstances told her I did not want conflict or to make my stylist feel bad because she was super nice. I had such a sweet and easy experience at the Vault! My hair is platinum blonde and requires a lot of time, patience, and work to retouch my dark roots. My stylist, Raylyn, did such a great job! I would recommend Raylyn to anyone, especially blondes! She knows what she's doing and you can tell as a client how much she loves being a stylist! The salon is in the back of a cute lil old building on First Street! The big windows face the river and allow nice natural lighting to sweep in. The space is small, but charming and styled nicely. I would recommend this salon to any of my Snohomish-area friends! Prices are practical and everyone who worked there was so, so sweet to me! read more

This rating is for customer service only, not about how they do hair. I booked an appointment for February 4th, in December. I was really looking forward to going to this salon, as I have heard good things. I booked my appointment online as the website said to do, I got an immediate confirmation. Then the week before my appointment I received an email AND phone msg asking me to confirm, which I did both times. Then the night before my appointment, I got a phone call telling me that there was a problem with the booking and they actually double booked, and they offered me another appointment, the following week in the morning. I said I can only do afternoon times, she said they didn't have any coming up, but it was fine, she would keep me in this time spot and she could move the other person. She said to come to the appointment like normal and that everything was fine. About 2 hours later at 8pm, I received an email telling me my appointment was canceled and I had a voicemail telling me, that they were sorry but the other person booked their appointment before me, so my spot was being canceled and I could call at a later time to make a new appointment. I am really not happy with how this was handled. If this person actually booked the spot before me, that was well over a month ago, you couldn't see that you were double booked sooner? I am just really bummed, I've been looking forward to this for so long. read more

Raylyn is the BOMB DOT COM. She chopped my collar bone length hair to my chin into the cutest choppy little bob imaginable. She was quick, fun to talk to, and obviously very knowledgeable. If I lived in Washington she would be the only person I ever let near my hair with scissors. As for the salon, it was great too. I had an unfortunate circumstance with another stylist at the salon not showing up for my appointment on Tuesday, but the salon felt awful and took great care of me in spite of that. I ended up choosing not to use that stylist, and I am so happy I ended up with raylyn. read more

Don't waste your time with this business. They called me to tell me I was late yet I received a different time through their text message reminder system. Worst customer service ever. I never once heard "my apologies", the young women at the front desk was rude and dishonest. Yet they had the audacity to try and take my credit card for a late fee. On top of that I was over charged $37 dollars to dry my hair... plus my hair wasnt even dry all the way or styled. On top of adding an extra $45 dollar charge for bondage treatment that I wasn't even aware of. I also asked for a breakdown of the charges in all $195 and the front desk young women failed to tell me all of the charges. Yet asks if I want me receipt emailed that tells me a break down of every charge once you are out the door. I am a business owner and would never treat my clients the way I was treated. I came here to get my 9 year old daughters haircut and I am so happy I did! I was a little hesitant on the cut my daughter wanted but Kaitlyn eased all my worries! Total bait and switch. I scheduled a balayage and haircut. I scheduled it online and then called the salon because I had questions about the mandatory "add ons" (haircut, glaze and air wave - aka drying your hair). I was told the appointment that I scheduled wasn't actually a sufficient appointment for everything they required you do on top of the balayage. I was quoted $159 for all things included when I talked to the receptionist, but I was told that was a starting price based on how much hair you have and how much product they have to use. I made sure to ask lots of questions so I wasn't surprised about price when I walked in. I have short hair and didn't want anything over the top or special, so I figured the stated price would be what I paid. When I sat down in the chair and told the stylist what I wanted - sun kissed hair and haircut, she came back and quoted me $230-$250. I'm not sure how the price changed $70-$90 as I didn't add on any additional services than what I was quoted from the beginning. How do you quote a $20 range after you've talked to your client? When she wrote out the quote, she was charging $30-$40 just for blow drying and "styling" my hair. I was finally able to get her down to $169 for just the balayage and glaze without the haircut. I'm not sure what all she charged for the $169, but I almost walked out of the salon for the extreme change in price. It took 2.5 hours just to get the balayage, no styling. She never put me under a dryer and left me sitting in the chair with foils in my hair for at least 45 minutes. She came back twice to check my hair and the last time she put a towel over my hair and told me it would help trap the heat in. She did a great job with my hair, but I'll never go back to the salon since they can't give an accurate quoted price or an accurate appointment online. Pricing should include all required add ons from the beginning. read more

Absolutely save your time and $ on coming here, I got my hair colored when I specifically requested a stylist that can work with curly hair and two months later I was borderline bald my hair was done by the "best" stylist there. Most definitely continuing in small claim court pursuing on suing my stylist. Let me start by saying I've never been happy leaving a salon before In my entire life.. until TODAY! I had a cut and color with Madison today and I always think I'm the worst client "uhh cut it but not too short because that gives me anxiety, and color it but not too blonde because that makes me anxious" haha but somehow Madison read my mind, she toned down the awful brassy faded blonde I had, added new color, cut the perfect amount and still kept my natural brown undertones. I wanted to cry of happiness when I saw the final result- not to mention the friendly staff, atmosphere of the salon and her attitude kept the nerves away the whole time. I made an appointment a couple months ago with Angela (owner) because my daughter told me to give this place a chance because they know what they are doing with hair. Well I was amazed at the end result Angela did a color, highlight and cut and it was fabulous. I have never had so many compliments on how great my hair looked including compliments from men at my office. Made me feel beautiful! So I had another appointment today with Angela for a touch up and trim and again I feel amazing. My hair shines and feels and looks so much healthier. I came back Feb. 14 for a full balayage and I got charged for the balayage and the haircut again (an extra $41). While reviewing my receipts in February I realized the double charge and called the lounge to clarify. The girl was new and couldn't look it up but promised to have someone call me back, I waited 3 weeks and called again, I got the same girl, who again said she'd have someone call me and didn't, again. I finally had rescheduled my next balayage to just a haircut that they had said would be free (I didn't get this answer until August mind you) and when I requested a refund instead of a haircut out of frustration with the lack of communication I had to drive down that day to get the money. While trying to get the cash she stopped to reconfigure a stylists schedule, ignored me, and said "I'll explain her later" to the the stylist. Don't get me wrong, I love Kelsey she was great! I just won't take my business somewhere that ignores me for multiple months. read more

I scheduled an appt almost a week out and left work early to be there in time. Was told they were running late, gave me a glass of water and had me wait out on the back deck. (Cushions were wet). After 30 mins, I came in and the stylist was at desk talking. Said it would be longer because they were cutting Longer hair. What?? So I stood waiting another 15 mins and finally had enough! 45 mins now! She was talking to same front desk girl and looked surprised. She said sorry, it will be a few mins more. At that point I said no and walked out. Then I got a message on vm from Jessica with a completely different story on why there was a delay. Not once did anyone reach out to me while I was there waiting to communicate or ask if I wanted to reschedule. Receptionist avoided eye contact. The only reason they got two stars was for a complimentary haircut...which I will not use. This is not the first time I waited over 15 mins here, but 45 mins...come on. That was the last. I am going on a cruise with my mother and needed to get my hair done before she arrived. I found the Vault on yelp and read the reviews. I made an appointment and hoped for the best. Estelle was my stylist and spent a fun 5 hours with her. I have a ton of hair and needed a full foil. Boy was it worth it. My hair turned out perfect and exactly what I wanted even though I didn't know it. My husband loves the color and cut. I could not be any happier!!! I live in Chattanooga Tennessee but will definitely be making the trip to visit Estelle again. read more
