Walk ins are welcome but they were so busy I couldn't get in, but I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day with Samantha who came highly recommended for the cut I was looking for (which is basically a shag for curly hair) and Samantha knocked it out of the park!! She knows what she's doing with curly hair (probably because she also has curly hair). The salon is clean and inviting, we were just a day away from valentines so we chatted about DIY gifts for our kids and other members of our families. I love coming here. The first time I ever set foot in this salon I had a real bad dye job from a different place. (asked for blonde and got jet black). I was on the verge of crying begging Suzan to please help me get as close as possible to my natural color. She did it in one session. Back to my natural but better. It was amazing. Since 2014/5 I've been coming here. Virginia is fabulous! Sam is incredible. Amanda is so sweet. I've never had a bad haircut and every time I leave I always think "huh I should do this more often. I feel amazing" everyone has the gift of gab but also understands when you just want to chill and vibe and just enjoy the experience of a haircut. 10/10 read more

The stylist Suzan failed to die my daughters roots then blamed me for not noticing. She said it's the trend and that they are highlighted! I did not ask for a trend I asked for full all over color! She also made the comment that my daughter and I were the most indecisive customers she had she had ever had about color. The fact of the matter was we wanted strawberry blonde hair that she said she could not do because it would not cover the purple. So she suggested we move to a red or a dark brown or black. Anything over seven. This caused a little bit of anxiety for my child due to the amount of colors and needing to re-choose a color. She also told me she did not need to disclose that she was using a Demi permanent instead of a permanent. She didn't feel the customer needs to know. I did not know it was a demi permanent until I asked her and would not have been told otherwise. The salon is filthy with hair clumped along the baseboards of the wall underneath the stylist counters. This was not just from one day and I actually almost left when I saw this. She also allows children to play in the middle of the salon as if it's a daycare. The children were blocking the doors and the walkways. These were not customers children. This also bothered me while I was there but I tried to look past it. The owner which is Sue is extremely unprofessional and does not care if she gives you a quality dye job. I could've done the same with a box of Miss Clairol. Blaming your customer for your poor workmanship is unprofessional and fraudulent. This was a quick dye job not done correctly and at the customers expense and time. We did receive a refund of $55 dollars after much stress but she refused to refund the eight dollar portion of the tip for the color. She stated to my husband that I was happy when I left so she gets to keep the tip. So I'm gonna give her a an even bigger tip! Treat your customers with respect, disclose all the information, do a job that you can be proud of and don't rip off your customer. You were supposed to be the expert. When you mislead your customer and blame them for not noticing how bad a job you did or where you cut corners while in the salon you only have yourself to blame. I blame myself for not leaving when you were rude and for not questioning the fact that it only took 1 hour for a color and cut. That is uncommon if it is done right. I trusted you and that was my failure! Hopefully others will see this and consider not using your services. I am sure there are honest ,professional,caring stylist working at the salon. However Sue's was not one of them. For now on we will take our services to Everett. read more

I would never recommend this place. I went after 4 years and got a 5 minute cut from Suzanne. She didn't wash my hair, spray or style it afterward and still charged $27. All she did was grab the bottom of my hair and cut the bottom 2 inches off, and was done. I had to ask for facial framing which she did after and didn't give me any layers either - even though I had asked for them. I could have any person on the street to give me the same haircut and they probably would have done a better job. read more

Samantha waxed my eyebrows then tweezed and cut my lids with over 15 small cuts!. I went in to ask for a refund because I also got a lip wax done and the hair is still on my lip. Now I have been getting waxed for 15 years and I have never had somebody pluck the skin off my eyelids nor not even pluck a little bit on my lip. Samantha was not there when I asked for the refund one of her coworkers gave me $10 and said that she couldn't refund the lip and tried to give me an excuse that I had to have an eighth of an inch of hair on my lip. I've been in customer service for 15 years and literally it's $18 and I got $10 refund. I am not satisfied and they told me that make up could cover my face in the photos that I will be in for my brothers wedding this weekend. read more

I've never really been too invested in my hair, but when I finally took the plunge and decided to cut it short, I knew that I had to find a place and hair stylist that would be able to make it work. I first went to a really fancy hair salon in Seattle, but after a few months I was pretty dissatisfied with my hair and I decided to give this local place a shot. That was when I met Virginia and I've been so happy with her work that she is the only person I'll go to from now on. I've never been very decisive with my hair style, and she is able to work with my very vague descriptions and make my hair look amazing every time! It even grows out nicely, which is a huge bonus since my hair tends to grow pretty quickly. :D I highly recommend going here, especially if you're thinking of getting your hair colored or just need a simple haircut. My friends are always so impressed when I tell them how much my haircut costs, because compared to soooo many other places, this place is actually incredibly reasonably priced and everyone is always so friendly! So if you want to look amazing and you don't want to break the bank, then this is totally the place for you. Based on the decent reviews (and prices) I've seen here, I decided to book a simple haircut with Stephanie. My first impression of the place was that it's very festive. Since it's close to Halloween they went all out with decorations and the whole place had a very pleasant atmosphere. Even the hairstylists seemed to be in high spirits. Stephanie was working on another lady's hair (giving her highlights) and was running a little behind, so I had to wait over 20 minutes. Simply put, that's the only reason why I didn't give my experience 5 stars! As soon as I sat down she held out her hand to give me a firm handshake (which was something I did not expect) and introduced herself. Right away I knew she was someone who knew what she was doing. Before even bringing out the scissors (and after asking what I wanted) she combed and examined my hair, thinking how best to cut it. While cutting my hair, she frequently asked me questions to get to know me better and offered advice and some info about herself in return. To me, it felt a little more personal and friendlier than the typically small talk I've had with other stylists before. My hair turned out great! She evened out the length (and never cut shorter than I asked), layered it, and gave it the "umph!" I never knew it needed. I have no idea how the other stylists are, but from what I observed they did a fabulous job with their own clients as well. I'll definitely come back again and hope you all will give this place a chance too! The price is extremely reasonable too, and you can't beat that! read more

Stephanie is a hair wizard! She is so good at doing exactly what you want done to your hair, and is easy to talk to about what you like or dislike. Every time I go there I get the best haircut ever. Also, the hair color they use there lasts! My dye job has lasted over three months -- no noticeable roots, and I still get complimented every day. I used to get my hair dyed somewhere else but cut at A Cut To Dye For until I mentioned my dissatisfaction with the other place I went to... And last time I went to A Cut To Dye For, although I did not get a hair cut, my hair still felt more lightweight and manageable (walked put afterwards feeling like I'd had a hair cut). I've moved out of Marysville, even out of the county, but going to Stephanie at a Cut To Dye For is worth going back to Marysville... she's the best! read more

Today I went in, with an appointment they were running behind. They were 15 minutes behind I didn't mind whatever it's annoying but I was willing to wait because I've always had a good cut. Well today I was in and out within 15 to accommodate the person behind me.. No wash, just a dry cut, barely any conversation I didn't even get a chance to see if I could schedule or get my brows done. I got a small trim, and the gal who cut my hair, also did last time insisted she didn't because she didn't think she could do that bad of a job. Umm Yea I confirmed, it was you who did it.. I love going here for whatever hair service I am in need of. They have done everything from a cut to color correction on me and even just giving me a great color when I am being super picky. I have seen Virginia and she was great really fun and just as important a great stylist. I saw Susan on another occasion and she was a blast and really knows her field I was super happy with her work! And this last time I saw Stephanie and she was absolutely amazing! This salon is pretty comparable to Hair Master, Great Clips, etc... In fact, it used to be Fantastic Sam's. They haven't really changed anything since then, except the name. I got my hair cut there today, and it turned out pretty good. The haircut was only $16, so ya know, that's always good. Customer service was fine, nothing too special though. The interior is pretty much no-frills, just your basic hair salon. I would probably go back there considering they are so cheap. read more

Marlinda did my hair. she was kind enough to stay to do my color since her shift was about over once I got there. She did a great job on the cut and the color was just amazing. I got married on February 1st and had asked Sam to do my bridesmaids as well as my hair. Did I mention I had 6 bridesmaids? Sam did a test run with me a month or so before the big day and I knew she was the one to choose. I would also like to mention that I have incredibly long hair and was terrified of getting it cut before the wedding. Knowing this, Sam gave me an amazingly refreshing hair cut prior to the big day without taking more off than I was comfortable with. Back to the wedding.... 7 girls in just 4 hours was no problem for Sam. She showed up early and prepared and ready to tackle the different styles of my girls. She did a mix of up dos and fancy down hair styles. Not only was my hair perfect, but my bridal party looked amazing and loved their looks. I would recommend Sam to anyone, whether it be a routine cut/color or for the most important day of your life. She has incredible talent and impeccible listening skills (not just the "mmmhmm" you hear from other stylists before they chops off a year's worth of hair growth), but REAL listening skills that ensure you get what you want before you leave. I've been coming here for years, back when it was Fantastic Sams. I can always count on coming in during the week and getting in right away with no appointment and Marlinda usually cuts my hair and is simply amazing. I have gone to places that charge double for what they do and never listen to what I want, and I'm pretty boring with my preferences. The gals there aren't pushy with sales and can make you feel very comfortable. Will never go anywhere else, my whole family comes here. Worth every penny. read more

Stay away from this salon. They are not very nice to start off with but what gets me is this. Ready? I took my 8 year old son in there who, let's be honest, has a pretty simple hair cut and it's usually pretty cheap elsewhere in town. Not here. Get this, at 8 years old my son is considered an ADULT!?! His cut took maybe 7 minutes and it cost me $16.00. Kids cuts (those under 7 y/o) are $13.00 which still seems extremely high to me. Stay away from this place unless you want to pay 2X the amount for a normal, CHILD HAIR CUT. The last thing I want my son thinking, at 8 years old, is that he is an adult. CARRIE S. in the review section below this submission is a grown woman who is happy to pay $16.00 for an ADULT CUT which makes sense and probably took 20-40 minutes to complete. But having the same price for an 8 year old boys cut, that took less than 10 minutes is egregious and unacceptable. Needless to say, I will never take my child back to this salon. I decided to tryout a new salon and this one was nearby so I made an appointment for 2pm. So I got there around 1:50ish and the lady told me that they were running a bit behind and asked if I could wait about 15min, so I said sure not a big deal. After she said this she disappeared to the back of the salon and all I heard was yelling and screaming between two employees. Once that was over the lady came back out and said sorry but its going to be a little over an hour can you come back later? Long story short I am never going back. read more

I have been happy every time I've been (been going for about a year now), but they just did something special and awesome for me and it had to go on yelp (which is how I found them). Stephanie rocked my hair, I went in for a cut with no pictures and only an explanation of what I wanted, and she did it perfectly. I've been curious to dye my hair and try this rainbow "sand-art" style and asked if they could do it, Stephanie set me up for an appointment the next day and it turned out perfect. I get compliments everywhere I go. She asked what colors I wanted and I explained what I was going for, showed some pics, and she completely nailed it. The atmosphere is always clean and family friendly, all of the stylists are fun, friendly, and approachable.
