Ok so Saturday they were only open from 6-10. If you're not familiar with a non-typical Caribbean…read morerestaurant, you'd be off-put by this place. It's not your typical restaurant they have like 2 or 3 tables but there's old men (probably family) sitting there talking in Creole. There's no menu anywhere, so if you're not familiar with the food already you won't know. The food isn't labeled and they in the tin pans. However, the food is amazing. The piklis is so good/spicy. The griot and black rice were so flavorful. I will come back. The ambiance isn't great, but the authenticity of the food is what drives their business.

It's home-cooked Haitian food, and it's worth the visit as I enjoyed my food. The service is typical of a home-cooked place: you'll get your food quickly, but this is a grab-and-go spot, not a dine-in experience. One thing to note: if you ask for anything extra, like I did for an additional scoop of rice, expect an upcharge (in my case, $5 for just one scoop). While an up charge for extra is understandable, just make sure the upcharge feels reasonable. Would recommend if you're craving authentic Haitian cuisine!

Oxtails with black rice and onions. It cost $12 for the small and there was enough food for 3 meals. The food was great!

One thing I always look for when eating at a restaurant that specializes in food from a specific…read morecountry is whether people from that culture are dining there too. At a Thai spot, I expect to see Thai people. At a Mexican spot, I expect to see Mexicans. You get the picture. So at this Haitian restaurant, there are always Haitians enjoying the food -- which tells you everything you need to know. If you're looking for an upscale yet still authentic Haitian restaurant, this is it. No matter what you order, they always start you off with a soup that's hot, rich, and flavorful. I usually begin with the Haitian caviar and smoked fish empanadas, then move on to either the Saveur Creole goat or the red snapper -- always with extra gravy, because I can't resist pouring it over their black rice (don't judge me). It's BYOB, so bring your drink of choice or grab something from the shop right next door. Another thing I love is that the owner, Robert, is usually there. He'll stop by your table, talk with you, and make the meal feel like a real experience. And if you admire the artwork on the walls -- he painted all of it himself. If you go, tell him I sent you... maybe then he'll finally sell me one.

Our service was a tad slow as there was only one gentleman working that night. We order a bunch of different foods. I had the goat and black rice. The goat was a tad tough but the rice was really good. The soup that accompanied the meak was delicious. Note: the items are priced separately. Good experience overall

I didn't see much space for huge parties but be mindful and make the reservation in advance. Went for an early dinner at around 6:00ish and was seated immediately. Service was on point. Now for the food. The seasoning was immaculate. We did try the griot app (not pictured) and it was very flavorful. The Rasta pasta dish was seasoned appropriately and provided a comfortable heat. If you are used to typical heat of pikliz then you may find the spice level was at a mild level which paired nicely with the passion 75. The drink tasted more like a spin on a mimosa but I was wish the passionfruit was from the fruit to bring in the tartness - still good. The cheesecake was pretty standard. The glaze on top balanced out the creaminess well.

We had the short rib empanadas, which were crispy and fully of meat. They were definitely the highlight of the night! The rasta pasta was good, but it came out warm and with few shrimp. The flavors were still excellent, however. The carrot cake for dessert was moist and not too sweet, which I prefer! The space was also super clean and well maintained. What really disappointed me was the service. We had a reservation, but had to wait to be seated even with plenty of open tables. That's normally not a big deal for us, but we had an event to get to tonight, so we were in more of a rush. Someone came to us to ask what water we wanted after 10 minutes of being sat, after which the hostess came back over to us to apologize that our server hasn't come over yet and asked if we would like water. Much more time passes and someone (still not our server) comes to ask us if everything is alright. We explain that no one has taken our order, which she apologized for and took our order for us. She then had to come back over because she forgot to include what protein we picked for our pasta. Finally, our server came over to us. We explained that we had already ordered. More hiccups continued throughout the night, including a long wait for the check, never being brought a dessert menu after asking, etc. I'm not one to complain about service, I just think they could be more efficient. At the time we arrived, there were only a few other tables seated in our area. It wasn't super busy, and there were a lot of people working. We overheard staff whispering about who was supposed to be taking care of us, and it still took time for someone to come over and help us. I think the staff knew we overheard or were disappointed in the service, because our dessert was free, and we received a bread basket as well. I'd love to give them another chance, just maybe not if I have plans after.
