Food is top notch and hospitality warm and welcoming in this unassuming restaurant tucked in NJ. Each dish was better than the next - creamy shrimp, chicken rice, duck special and the incredible egg tarts and Nutella empanadas. I'm dreaming about the sticky toffee cake. Would love to come back!

Delicious food. Small dining area so reservations are recommended. Waitresses very friendly and accomodating.

From the pictures, this looks like more of a take out restaurant. Are there tables to eat in? How's the atmosphere?

There are tables for eat in. Looks more like a diner than an upscale restaurant. However, the food is top notch. You won't be sorry.

The parking was actually full when we arrived, possibly because of the bar using the same lot. But there is an elevated connected lot for the bowling alley that has plenty of parking. I have to say that the best thing about this place is the service: everyone was very friendly, and quick to attend us. Food was great, except maybe the flake fish (first course). Seemed more Spanish to me than Portuguese though. Portions were huge... actually had leftovers from a dish, which is the first for me from a tasting menu. The prices were reasonable In terms of why I'm giving this 4 star instead of 5: -we were seated at the "Chefs counter", but did not really have a view of the prep, which was really far away. Basically could just see the fireplace. The sister restaurant Heirloom is a much better chef's counter setup where you are seeing everything -Dishes seemed to be regular menu type dishes (just smaller portions), as opposed to super interesting types that you would expect from a tasting menu -Beverage pairing was okay... didn't really love the wines For these reasons, I'd likely return, but just stick to the regular menu/ experience.

I wanted to take my husband's mom out for a late Mother's Day celebration while we were in town,…read moreand we decided to stop here since Lita was closed on Wednesdays. My husband's mom, who lives in town, has been to their other location before and said it was very good, so we were looking forward to trying this location. When we first arrived, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately, which made for a great first impression. We ordered a pitcher of sangria and the grilled octopus appetizer. While we waited, they also brought out soup and bread, which was a nice touch. For our main dish, we decided to share the seafood paella. Once we mentioned we would only be ordering one paella to share, I felt a noticeable change in our server's attitude. I also added an extra lobster since the dish only came with half a lobster. The additional lobster was reasonably priced at $25, but unfortunately it was very overcooked -- dry, chewy, and much smaller than expected. That said, the paella itself had great flavor. However, after the dish was dropped off, I do not recall our server checking back on us or asking how everything was. We finished the meal with the blueberry crumble, which was delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. Overall, I was not impressed with either the food -- especially the lobster -- or the service at this location. While the meal had some positives, the overall experience was disappointing compared to what we had heard about their other location.

We just had a wonderful meal here today. The place was bursting at the seams with people, looked…read morelike several big parties going on at once but we were still seated right away and the food did not take long to come out (like you would expect with them being so busy). Several servers were keeping in touch with us all throughout the meal and never left us hanging for long. They were always right there asking us how we were doing and if we needed anything. The only problem was the noise, just as a consequence of it being a busy and successful restaurant it was LOUD. We had to basically shout at eachother to be heard. Didn't ruin the experience and Im not sure how they could even fix that but it was annoying at times. The food was all pretty good, the shrimp shishkabob being our overall favorite with its nice charcoal grilled flavor and big juicy shrimp. I had the Seafood Ria Mar which was all kinds of shellfish in a bouliabase. It was a little peppery and overall I'd give it a 7/10. Not amazing but pretty good. The house salad is always very nice and also free, 8/10. We also got the stuffed mushrooms which I would give a 7.5/10. Great temperature and texture with good taste but it was a little small, being 6 smallish mushrooms. I guess it was supposed to be for one person but splitting it between the two of us it was a little small. The sangria was great as always and they made a decent pitcher of mocktail for just $8 which was a good price in my opinion. The lemon sorbet at the end was OK, 6.5/10. I would definitely recommend that you try this place. Even if you don't like seafood they have a lot of good options for you with all the land animals. Give this place a try! We come here all the time for special occasions. Its my mom's favorite restaurant.

However, my utensils were dirty when I sat down. the waiter apologized right away, but it made me wonder about the rest. The bread and salad were complimentary and both were really good. We started with a pitcher of red sangria, which everyone enjoyed. For entrées, we ordered the bacon-wrapped chicken (the sauce was tasty, but the chicken itself was dry), the braised short ribs (very good), and the seafood rice, which was delicious. The shrimp avo was just okay. Overall, I'd recommend the place for the friendly service and good food; just make sure your utensils are clean before you start eating.
