Prices and food good timely delivery. When you order rice and beans they could serve a big more beans.

Looing for a good Peruvian restaurant after moving from Virginia we were happy to find this spot…read morereally near our new residence. Looked at the menu and called in an order. The chicken leg with fried rice was a large portion and so were the French fries. Just a note of caution. The leg price on the menu says $8 but if you ask for dark (which is normally customary when ordering ¼ lb.) with rice it jumps to $14. So if just a few of you, the rice quantity is enough to share around and so are the fries. Picked up from inside and the restaurant looked very nice to try out

They are known for their rotisserie chicken, which I ordered, and liked very much. My dish also included fried hot dogs over french fries, which was an interesting combination, and I liked that as well. My wife ordered the Peruvian version of the paella that we normally eat at Spanish restaurants, and she liked that as well. The service was extremely friendly and helpful. The menu was huge, so whenever we go back, we'll probably go for something different. They have some Chinese fusion dishes which sounded very appetizing, but there's just so much food you can order for one meal!

The food here is 5/5, not to mention the rotating menu and the, the empanadas, tres leches cakes, and their soups. They make soups in Thursdays a d Sundays, but they usually have the pernil, like 2 beef dishes and they rotate ribs, chicken, and beef steak. Yuca, white rice, black rice, and the rice and beans are usually there every time I have went. The service is attentive, they ask you what size large or small and they start with the rice, then over to the meats. The restaurant smells so appetizing upon entering. It is newly renovated, clean and organized so you can dine in or take out. The staff is very nice and I have come here about 5 times since they opened.

There are also some sides available. I always got oxtail. It's good, but a bit pricey for the amount of meat you get. Others have ordered the pepper steak before and the portions for that are great. The rice is definitely on the salty side, but is good overall. I do appreciate that the lady working there is always generous with pouring extra sauce on our rice as well. We also tried the tres leches during our last visit and would get it again. It had the perfect texture and sweetness.

Sazon Latino, located on Main Street in Boonton just a few steps from the NJ Transit station, is…read moredefinitely a hidden gem. It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.
