The restaurant is small and does offer a dine in option. They have a few tables, but a lot of their business is pick up. The owner and her family are always so friendly and helpful. This time we ordered a few dinners and they came with sides of green salad, white rice and your choice of red or black beans. We ordered: -rabo guisado - braised oxtail -roasted chicken -chicharron - fried pork chunks -cheese empanadas -maduros - fried sweet plantains -macaroni salad This place offers delicious traditional Dominican food at a very reasonable price and is definitely worth a visit.

Upon entering, the place is small, with white walls that have a gray wainscoting. Pictures of food adorn the left wall while food-related canvases adorn the right wall and various flags for different countries hang from the ceiling. Since we went here during FIFA, soccer ball decorations hung from the front windows and entrance. Medium-sized drink refrigerators are near the back by the ordering counter and a display case can be seen on the counter as well. A mounted TV plays in the back for ambiance. We were immediately seated and ordered the following: Hubs got the Cachapa Criolla, which is a sweet corn pancake stuffed with Venezuelan hand cheese and shredded llanero cheese on top, Venezuelan cream, accompanied with fried pork belly. He said that he liked it and that the chicharron was good. It wasn't hard like most places. Hubs also liked the corn pancake. The cheese was ok but he said that he'd ask them to put less of it in the future. The lime was a nice touch. Daughter ordered the Arepa Pabellón, which has shredded beef, black beans, fried egg, white cheese, and sweet plantains. She liked it a lot and said that it was really good and hit the spot. She was craving for arepas. Lastly, I ordered Patacón Maracucho, which is fried green or sweet plantain, ham, protein of your choice (meat, chicken or mixed), lettuce, tomato, onion, Venezuelan hand cheese, garlic sauce and pink sauce. I chose fried green plantain with meat and thought that the plantain was ok but the meat was overcooked and tough. I also got the Tres leches to go. This was nice and sweet and pretty good. I was stuck with giving this place either a 3 or a 4. I felt my entree was a bit overcooked but Hubs and Daughter liked their meals. Wish I could do 3.5 LOL. The chicken empanada was also good. However, the CANASTICAS (3) DE TOSTONES RELLENOS appetizer was disappointing. It was $10 for three tiny cups, which was not what we expected. It wasn't worth the price, and we could barely taste any plantain. I accepted the conclusion. We also ordered a side of FRIED PLANTIANS (tostones). We received only three pieces, and they were extremely thin--so thin they could bend like taco shells. They were not the traditional thick, crispy tostones we expected. My husband's BANDEJA PAISA was also disappointing. The chicharrón was thin, hard, and difficult to chew. The steak was thin but good. The beans- good. Sausage-ok. A lot of rice on the plate. Then the receipt came with an automatic 18% gratuity. We don't recall seeing this noted on the menu, although it may have been listed somewhere. Started out with coconut lemonade and a blood sausage appetizer that came with 2 mini arepas. It was our first time trying blood sausage and we were happy we did! Casing had a nice char and snap to it. Filling was well seasoned and delicious. Arepitas were light, crispy and had a very good sweet corn taste to them. Coconut lemonade was slightly tart which is how I like it and also had a sweet coconut finish to it. I would definitely order it again. For the entree we shared the Parradilla Milina Marinera which came with grilled steak, chicken, pork loin, shrimp and salted fried plantains. We added rice and beans. Grill taste on everything was terrific! Meats were tender and flavorful. Rice and beans were ok. They had free dessert for Mother's Day so my wife ordered chocolate cake which was delicious. It wasn't our first time at Milina and it definitely won't be our last. Servers were very attentive, courteous and accommodating.
