Dr Kevin Fenton deserves no stars. I brought my small bird with a sprained /broken foot into Dr. Fenton. Dr Fenton took my bird into a back room away from me and I heard very loud screaming from my bird to the point of I was extremely disturbed and scared for my bird. I thought Dr Fenton was putting a splint on my bird's foot Dr. Fenton came back in my room with my bird and said oh no I didn't want to put a splint on, but I decided to trim his nails. I did not ask for nail trims on a bird that had a sprained/ broken foot!! I couldn't believe it , abuse in every aspect and even more than that I had to pay $60 for a procedure that hurt my bird. Dr Fenton not care for animals, due to this experience never again. Update - the response say "we're here to listen" - How about we will take action when something has been done inappropriately?? Doctor is nice but my dog had an ear infection. They clogged his ears with sort of thick liquid medication. He was not responding to me talking to him. Took him to a vet, they said had I not brought him in he would have had permanent hearing loss. The doctor was very nice, however he did not administer the medication. A tech did, so I cannot fully blame him. This is however unacceptable. So hard to find doctors in the desert let alone a good vet clinic. FYI VCA is owned by Mars corporation. Yes the candy company. I was freaking out and in terror about my dog. All the staff that I spoke to on the phone was patient, kind & helpful and kept me up to date about my dogs health & well being. Dr. Norm Smith was kind, patient & extremely knoweldgeable. He provided us with all the information to make an informed decision. He helped get my dog back on his feet and on the road to recovery. He even came outside to share all the information and made sure we had all the relevant information to make sure Sushi, my dog, was going to be in the best care. Horrible experience today. Been with this office for multiple years and been happy. Dr Fenton has been taking care of Nova for 2,5 years now. Today she barked at the receptionist once and immediately was labeled aggressive. She is not great with other dogs but has never in 5 years growled at anyone. Not to mention not attacked or biting, she loves people specially kids .Dr Fenton made it clear that his employee is right and I'm wrong.It goes without saying that we left and we will not return, ever. It was an emergency.  My 20-year old cockatiel fell off his perch, tried to catch himself on the way down, and fractured his beak.  He was in pain, couldn't eat, or drink. I called VCA All Creatures.  Their schedule was full but after learning what happened, they fit me in right away. (Thank you Lisa!) Saw Dr. Fenton.  He acted fast.  Took Doodles (the Cockatiel), into the back, trimmed and fixed the beak. Came out and explained everything to me. Doodles was going to be okay.  A few days later, he was back to normal, back on his perch, chomping on his milet.  We've been going to All Creatures - and seeing Dr. Fenton since the early 1990's. He genuinely cares about our animals. His authenticity comes through in every visit. One time our hospitalized cat wouldn't eat after surgery. Dr. Fenton and my wife discussed options. They decided that she should come in and see if the cat would eat for her. She did, sitting in the back among the cages at feeding time, the cat began eating again. Dr. Fenton cares ... and puts his patients first.  We're lucky to have him and the entire All Creatures team here in La Quinta to take care of our fury and feathered family. read more

Took my little terrier Dixie there on Oct. 19th. My regular vet was not available so I was introduced to Dr. Juan Partida. What a QUACK! He examined my dog, not in front of me but in the back behind closed doors. He listed a few thing she needed, mainly basic maintenance. He recommended that in the near future we get a blood work up because she's 10 and it would be a good baseline. Ok. Then nurse came in and handed me a bill for $570!! For a routine check up and shots. What could I do? I paid. We'll, the very next day the vet called me up and said he had reviewed Dixie's blood work (which I did not authorize) and said "I have bad news". When I mentioned that I didn't authorize bloodwork, he REFUSED to tell me what the bad news was! He said because I didn't authorize the bloodwork he couldn't give me the results. EVEN THOUGH MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED!! NO COMPASSION WHATSOEVER. As any protective furr parent would, I gave me a few choice words and expressed my frustration over his unprofessionalism, and he hung up on me. My husband actually went over to the clinic the same day and asked to speak to him to get the results and he would not see him. What a coward and hack. I used to think this place was ok. But no more! We have transferred our records to another vet who was more than happy to tell us the results of the bloodwork and now we are happily treating Dixie for a minor condition and feel we have found a compassionate, caring clinic and new vet. I used to see Dr. Lingareddy at this location and he was the best vet I've ever had. I was clearly spoiled because this recent visit could not have been more different. To begin, I sent numerous emails to the location with questions. Is it okay to stop and restart the asthma meds my cat was on if she isn't symptomatic? Can she eat tuna cat food every day? (a reasonable concern, considering that humans shouldn't eat human tuna every day). Never once got a response to a single one of my emails. So I brought her in for a physical to finally get my questions answered. Dr. Fenton has no bedside manner at all. He couldn't remember if he had met me before (shouldn't that be in my file?), he shushed me like a child during the exam (and no, it was not while he was listening through the stethoscope), and he asked me to tell him the dosage and medication she was on and laughed when I ventured a guess about the size of the syringe (again, shouldn't this all be listed in the file)? Then he backed out of the room and closed the door while I was still talking--and before I could get my questions answered. I had to take a typewritten letter with my questions into the office days later. To his credit, Dr. Fenton called me to answer my questions, but he made sure to tell me that he already felt he answered them during my visit. He repeated that statement for every single question on the list. He also would not let me ask follow-up questions until he had gotten through the entire list. For the second time, he said "wait til I'm finished." So gross. I am not a child and no doctor on the planet should shush a patient EVER. I ordered and paid for a blood test for my cat, and after more than two weeks have still not heard anything. I called two weeks to the day, and after being on hold for a long time, opted to leave a message. No response. I am currently writing this review while on hold this morning. As of this moment, it has been 22 minutes and all that has happened is that they have picked up, asked if they can place me on a quick hold (seriously, after 20 minutes) and without waiting for a response, put me back on hold. This veterinary office is terrible. No one should be infantalized, shushed or laughed at during a visit. No one's emails should get ignored forever. No one should have to wait on hold for 22 minutes to follow up on test results that cost $340 and should have been forthcoming in the first place. read more

I have taken multiple of my god here for quick and traumatizing treatment which is never good but I can't believe how far above and beyond the entire crew went. Losing a pet was much easier around them even as I crumbled to pieces. They care about and beyond. Always be curious and asked questions so you have a good ideas of what the procedures may be what they are needed. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The doctors go about and beyond. I have used them 5 to 7 years now and wouldn't change. The doctors are phenomenal even on rough days. The stuff working around them is honestly some of the best I've ever seen in the service industry. When I can won though times at home with cars repo'r etc they were so nice and just let me know when you cans no rush and thankfully I was able to take care of my favorite the best in the game. My wife and I met Dr. Fenton for the first time only moments before having him put down our blue healer Sarge who was 15 years old and in pain. One thing that is certain is that this man genuinely cares. I sat there waiting with my dog, thinking that she was very sick and was hoping that I could get in quickly and see a veterinarian, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I sat there and waited and waited while they took my dog back in the veterinary hospital, so they basically kept her hostage because it was early in the morning and I couldn't get her back without making a big scene. Eventually, they saw her and because it was the middle of the night I was under pressure to make sure she did get seen, and she wasn't my dog. She was a dog that was watching. Most caring and respectful Vet Kevin I have ever seen. I had to put my bulldog down and I couldn't have felt more at peace and comfort than I did with Kevin. He let me have some time alone with my dog before he had to give her the shot. He stayed there with me and said some kind words. Had a small what I would call 'ritual'. It was amazing. I cannot thank Dr Fenton and the kind, compassionate staff at VCA enough. Our 14 year old fur baby, Raven, was diagnosed with leukemia by Dr Fenton and he and the staff exhibited the utmost compassion and assistance in getting us headed in the right direction for treatment. At his recommendation, I reached out to an oncologist who happened to be in town that day, and based on his relationship with Dr Fenton, I got our dog in immediately and she began chemo last night. Dr Macy assured us that she has a very strong chance at remission. We wouldn't have even pursued Dr Macy if it were not for Dr Fenton's urging. The front office staff is efficient and compassionate and provides excellent communication. In April I took my 14 yr old Shitzu to Dr William Moffat of VCA All Creatures Animal Hospital in La Quinta. I've taken her to him before. I needed her teeth done & his office said it would run between $3,000 and $6,000. I politely mentioned I could take her back to my old veterinarian in Las Vegas and he would do it for about $1,000. I was not sarcastic or rude in any way. But my Shitzu had a heart murmur so he said not to do her teeth, and come back in 2 weeks after the heart medicine takes effect. During this time the heart murmur medication made her excessively sleepy. I called to ask Dr. Moffat what to do, but he never phoned me back. Eventually the office called and said to halve the dose. I went back 2 weeks later and the vet tech was very nice. He suggested taking her off chicken since her ears were infected. Dr Moffat never even came in. When I walked out into the waiting room, Dr. Moffat was talking loudly about me disparagingly to another client, which embarrassed the vet tech, so he said, "Dr. Moffat, she's standing right here!" I was so taken aback I was rendered speechless & terribly humiliated as this all happened in front of a roomful of clients. I quickly left and will never return. I canceled my follow up appointment. He was so unprofessional I wouldn't go back if he was the last vet on Earth! read more

I work in the veterinary field so I am probably more critical than many. I took my cat Alex in for a possible UTI this morning and was able to be seen on an urgent care basis. Dr. Partida was great as was the staff. After a quick ultrasound and sharing some pictures of clots I found on the floor at home, we discussed that the bladder wall was enlarged, there was no sign of blockage etc. We also chatted about Alex's thyroid issue and Dr. Partida reinforced my current thoughts on a game plan for treatment. I recently brought both of my GSD's to this business. I own a male and a female. The male is 7 years old and the female 4 years. Originally, I brought them in for their annual checkup. They had the dogs for about 30 minutes and called me to say the dogs were ready for pickup. Upon discussion with the doctor he informed me that my dogs were the same weight, 86 pounds. I know my dogs and they are not the same weight. I didn't mention anything and assumed they weighed the same dog twice. Fast forward a few weeks and I brought both dogs again, for pre-op bloodwork, before teeth cleaning. Again the phone call came, from the same doctor, who told me that all panels looked good and they were all clear to move forward with the dental cleaning. Here I am now today with only one dog. I had to put my male GSD down because his blood panels were not read correctly. My dog had elevated levels of absolute monocytes. Elevated to the tune of more than double what normal would be for a 100 lbs male GSD. Normal is around 840, at the time of his initial blood work his levels were 1904. Any doctor should note this and investigate further into an animals health. What does a high absolute monocyte count mean? When a dogs monocyte level is high -- known as monocytosis -- it means the body is fighting something. Some conditions that can cause an increase in the monocytes in blood are: viral infections, such as parasitic infections and/ or chronic inflammatory disease. I have retrieved all my records from this business and will never go to them again. I am saddened by the loss of Maverick and although this lapse in professionalism may have been a blessing it was not their decision to make. Good luck if you take your pets to this business. While waiting for our pet, I watched Dr. Fenton perform an amazing assessment with a patient in the lobby. He sat on the lobby floor with an elderly dog for more than 10 minutes evaluating symptoms as he discussed options with the owner. The depth of caring conversation along with expert experience reminded me just how much love and effort this clinic brings to all that come in the door. My dog usually gets very nervous going to the vet, but the front office staff on June 13, 2024 was very accommodating, getting us into a room quickly. My dog and I are so glad we met Dr. Fenton!
