I had my dog spayed here. They left gauze in her. She got an infection. I took her back and the doctor said oh we don't use gauze. Then followed that saying oh well we do use gauze to clean the area an I apologize if it was left. He did a cold Lazer on her, left the whom open and he gave her back as she was dripping blood. He butchered my dog and know gave her an antibiotic. DO NOT TAKE UR ANIMAL HERE. read more

My dog has been coming here ever since he was a puppy and this veterinarian office has always provided outstanding service from the veterinarians themselves all the way to the vet techs, front office staff, and groomers. All of the veterinarian doctors have been super kind and have always displayed genuine care for my dog's health and well being. They always provide great recommendations and consistently send out treatment update reminders. Their boarding program is great and I use their pet grooming services on a regular basis for my dog. My dog loves their groomer's and he loves the staff here at VCA! I actually have other family members who have made VCA All Creatures the primary care provider for their dogs. VCA All Creatures has always provided top care service and I always recommended them to friends who are seeking care for their pets. read more

Everyone is nice at VCA except one girl that helps out at the front counter. She has an absolute attitude of an angry New Yorker. Been going there for a few animals, and they were good, but it's not worth dealing with people that are pissy and lack empathy. Maybe she's young and hasn't learned to be considerate of others but when you need a doctor visit, you aren't paying for someone to be a jerk. Thank you, I'll go somewhere else. And the office telling me no one ever complained about her before doesn't help the matter that she should not be interacting with people. Maybe stick her in the back so only employees have to listen to her snippy attitude. Clearly they don't care about keeping customers. Funny if you read other reviews, others had the same issue I did. We have received great care for all four of our pets through the years- Cozmo, Fred, Sue and Brick. We appreciate the reminders for upcoming appointments. They go above and beyond expectations to follow up after a vet visit. When our young female cat was suffering through a urinary tract infection I very much appreciated the communication between the emergency vet clinic and VCA. Dr. Horvath always asks how Sue is doing even when it's Brick's checkup. read more

Long story short do NOT waste your time and money bringing your dog here. The vet overcharged me for not even touching/examining my dog and charged me almost $200. One week later, today, my dog is in the ER due to an allergic reaction this vet COULD HAVE caught if he would've took the time to examine my dog. Absolutely will never step foot back in this vet. I called them back to ask if I could bring my dog back in bc the vet didn't even examine my dog the first time and they said they will be charging me again. I'm disgusted with this place. P.S. The staff was so kid and helpful! They were able to get me in and look at my guinea pigs foot and a checkup for them to! It was also not expensive at all! For 2 piggies and some meds it was $159. Very disappointing. We were traveling out of state back to Missouri where our dog used to see Dr. Cloud years ago. Our dog with kidney problems will only eat the Royal Canin kidney canned dog food. I have a prescription for it from our Florida vet but they would not honor the prescription and said our dog MUST have a check up first. Really bad message it sends to a past client that is in a bind (out-of-state) and in need of a special dog food. Again, I have the prescription and they would not honor it. What a waste of our time. Scheduled an appt for 9am and then received an reminder email stating that our appt was at 11am. Showed up at 920a and was refused service. I cannot say enough good things about VCA! Dr. Misty Schneider was our vet and she was truly one of the best vets I've ever taken any of my dogs too. My little 4 pound, 15 year old Maltese feel sick pretty quickly and after calling around I was able to get an appt. for her "same day" at the VCA in O'Fallon. Dr. Schneider was her doctor and she listened to every thing I had to say...went through my options for treatment(s). My little dog ended up having Pneumonia and her heart was enlarged. Dr. Schneider showed me her x-rays and explained them to me showing me the spots of concern and prescribed medications that started to take effect right away. Two days later..my little dog is almost 100% back to her old self. I'm soooooo grateful for Dr. Schneider, she is a true asset to animals and the Veterinary profession! I called this morning in an emergency situation with limited vets around our area that will see Bunnies. I was shocked after I told them that my Bunny was in the beginning stages of GI Stasis and needed to be seen today. I was told the vet had No openings until Wed. Never took a pet there. I recommend it for the selection of prescription foods, and particularly Science Diet. I picked up some cat food that was on back order when my regular, independent vet ordered it for me. They just took the rx slip from my vet and I was out in under 10 minutes. read more

Overall, it was not bad. I took the wife's cat since he had something crazy going on with one of his eyes. The vet promptly gave a diagnosis, a quick cat physical and told us how to bring his weight down (he was pushing 17 pounds!). The facility is clean and conveniently located, however, they get downgraded a star because it is vastly overpriced. Yes, it is part of a national chain, so you do pay for that. If you need to use them in a pinch, go ahead, but if there is a local, independent vet that you know, I would highly recommend you visit them first, as you will save quite a few bucks for the same treatment... Oh, and the cat did get better within a few days and is doing much fine (and he has dropped a pound or two since!). read more

I called on saturday morning to get a prescription refilled and they advised me that they would call when it was ready. I finally called them a 2pm and she advised that they will get it ready for pickup. I was not advised of a closing time. I get there at 3:15 and they closed at 3. I knocked on the door and the woman advised me that they closed at 3. I asked if I could just get my prescription and she said no. I advised her my dog was a difficult time breathing and she still would not get the prescription. The next day, Sunday, I had to take her to then emergency vet to get her prescription and they also checked her out. That cost me $590. Instead of giving me my $30 prescription, I had to pay hundreds more because they are uncaring and could not be bothered. Horrible treatment! It would have taken 5 minutes but unfortunately, this is the world we live in! read more

I took my senior cat, Rocky, into VCA for his 6 month check up and blood work. He is over 16 years old, and I am having him checked out twice a year to keep a very close eye on his kidney functions. I took him in on a Tuesday and saw "Dr. Miller". She ran blood work, and then left for 2 days. I was unaware that the other "Dr.s" at VCA where unable to read test results!! That is kinda scary. When I called in on Thursday to get his results I was told I could ONLY speak with the Dr. who treated him. That no one else in the clinic could give me his results. We are now going on day 3 of me having NO clue how bad off my cat may be. Why is this? Because it gives the vets at VCA a power trip, that is why. They get to control what information is given out and when. And screw the fact that the pet parent is worried sick about their animal. That has NO bearing on it what so ever. This place is a miserable joke of a vet clinic and I will NOT be returning after I get the results, whenever that is. Good luck if you go there for your pets health. Cause these "Dr'S don't give a crap about the pets health. Just that your credit card clears. read more

Yesterday we wound up at VCA in an emergency situation about a hour before close. Our dog, Luna, was attacked by another dog and had a bite wound on her inner thigh that required staples. My boyfriend called ahead to tell them we were on our way and as soon as we walked in they grabbed our baby for evaluation while I finished registering her. We were really frazzled because of the situation but as soon as we walked in the staff was there answer any questions and help in any way possible! I immediately felt relieved. Dr. Miller came in to access the damage and assured us it looked much worse than it actually was which made us feel much better. She was fantastic at calming our frazzled nerves and answering our many questions!! They took Luna back and got her fixed up within minutes!! I cannot thank you guys enough for taking such good care of us!! We are forever thankful for taking care of our baby! Also, the I was shocked at how reasonably priced they are!! If you find yourself needing a vet or in an emergency situation you have to go here!! You will not be disappointed! read more

If I could give a minus star I would. We were clients of Dr Cloud for years. He knew that if we called about an issue that it was because we really needed our animal seen. They always said come now and he and his team were behind extraordinary every time. I called this morning for my 15 yo dog being not able to walk. Told the receptionist who then connected me to a tech who I told the same story to. Well it's Monday and the soonest they could see her was Wednesday. Really? Vet calls me back several hours later now gave my story for the 3rd time. They could see me at 430 today but it could be up to an hour wait and I had to stay in the car with my dog who is 15 and already comprised. I'm done. Stopped at the Pet Doctor in Cottleville. Awesome service and they actually have appointments for emergencies. Imagine that. Bye bye VCA. Dr Cloud would be unhappy to know that his name is associated with such an uncaring organization. We had three dogs going here, now we have two. The whole staff has been amazing to us these past years. I don't usually write reviews, but some things stuck out me & I knew I had to, in hopes other customers and the staff will see. One of our dogs is very anxious. She's scared of everything- the wind, people, other dogs, etc. You can imagine how hard it would be to bring her to the vet. She is still anxious inside the establishment, but all of the staff tries to calm her down. You can see the effort they put into helping her and the visit goes by without a hitch. Most importantly, my second instance that stuck out: Our dog, Rocko. He was 14, going to the vet regularly. He, unfortunately, passed a little over a month ago. The staff went out of their way to send us a card, everyone signed. It meant so much to us in such a trying time to know that every time he was there, he was well cared for. VCA all creatures has been amazing with my border collie puppy, Senka. They are always so friendly and genuine, making every experience a great one. Today I noticed my older border collie, Indy, seemed to be faltering in his gait. I panicked since he has never had issues before, he is my frisbee competition dog. Previously I would have given this place five stars they did do an awesome job on saving my dog's life and I paid most of the money down and then made payments on the rest I am now down $145 and I've been making monthly payments because I'm on disability and they had agreed to this I called today to make an appointment for my dog she's in very rough shape and she needed to be seen I was able to have the money to pay for the visit today as well as any medications they told me they would not see her unless I paid the $145 back due again I reiterated that we had payment arrangements on that 145 that I have been keeping they wanted to know who I made those arrangements with please keep in mind that I've been paying on this for a year and no I don't remember who I made the arrangements with it but yet you're accepting my payments as per our agreement well I will no longer recommend you to anyone I have found another vet who's going to see my dog and I won't have to deal with you again. My husband and I took our pets to this vet facility for many years. All of our cats (Chuck, Charlie, Sara & Calie) were patients there and then eventually our two dogs Maggie & Shaggie were lucky to be patients there before we moved to California. Our Vet was Dr. Weist and she was awesome! She was very compassionate with all of our animals and very trustworthy. We would highly recommend her to be your vet. The staff there is extremely friendly and compassionate as well when we eventually lost our kitties to old age and had to put them down. Great facility and great people! read more

i can only say run run run.. i had read a few good reviews so i was looking for a new vet. i brought my baby cuddles in for what they said was a bladder infection. sent me home with pain pills only. had given her a antibiotic shot. two days later she was worse. upon telephoning them they said come buy more pain pills. made no attempt to work her in showed no concern whatsoever. upon following there directions i went to purchase pills only to find out pills were not fad approved for use for no longer than 3 days. doctor instructed me to give for 6. i thank god every day i did not follow the doctors orders. showed no concerns for my baby. but sure we're happy to take my 500 bucks in less than 30 minutes took her to vss emergency everything they did this place could've done just simply did not care!!!! ps when i brought the fda approval to the doctors attention she told me it had fda approval in england!!!! seriously!!!!! beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!++++++++ read more

I recently made an appointment with my vet at VCA CLOUD (at this location for more than 15 years) to see some new family members. At no time when making the appointment did the receptionist inform me that they had moved or even that they had merged with VCA All Creatures. So when it was time for the appointment we loaded up and went to the location where we have always gone only to find a sign saying they moved. Now running late for the appointment, we look on google maps to find the address, finally when we get there and inside the receptionist says that since we were late the doctor was very busy (not a single car on the lot) and she would "fit" us in, they actually gave us a different doctor. When I suggested that when someone who is/was a VCA Cloud client calls for an appointment they may want to inform people of the new location, they receptionist said boldly, "We sent out an email 4 months ago". Needless to say I am not impressed by their receptionist and if it had not been for the very nice doctor I might be looking for another vet. read more

When our almost $200 bill was too much for us and we asked if we could make a payment plan they said the payment plans are only for emergencies so we had to give back the medicine. Most expensive place I've ever been to, however the vet was nice. At least until we asked a couple of questions about the paper prescription they wrote for us. We filled the script at a nearby pharmacy. $8.50 for the whole prescription. Never going back. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody. read more

Saturday June 17th, my cat Gus was favoring his ear, so I made an appointment to see the vet that afternoon at VCA All Creatures. I thought we were going to be seeing Dr. Miller, but there was a different vet working that day. The vet, Karen Baggett, cleaned out some ear wax from his ears, checked his vitals, which were "really good," prescribed antibiotic ear drops and gave him a steroid shot. Sunday Gus didn't seem himself, like he still wasn't feeling well. Monday evening, he was just lying there; his breathing appeared labored and he seemed unresponsive. I rushed him out to the 24 hour Animal Hospital in O'fallon. They did X-rays and ran a bunch of tests. The vet said that it was possible that the steroid shot triggered an underlying problem with his heart, causing heart failure and for his lungs to fill up with fluid, making his breathing difficult. He also pointed out that his glucose levels were very high, indicating that he could be diabetic or that the stress of the situation combined with the steroid shot could also have increased Gus's blood sugar levels. He was not 100% sure. They gave him an antibiotic shot and fluid under his skin. Tuesday morning Gus's breathing was not improving. I took him back to All Creatures to see Dr. Miller and she also said that it was possible that the steroid shot triggered an underlying problem with his heart, causing heart failure and for his lungs to fill up with fluid, making his breathing difficult. She went on to say that though giving a steroid shot to a cat with an ear infection is common, she wouldn't have done that given his age, Gus was 13 years old. Dr. Miller sent us out to see a specialist in Chesterfield and they put him in an oxygen cage and gave him medicine to try to clear out his lungs. He was there most of the day in the ICU. They called me to let us know that we could pick him up, gave me heart medicine that was supposed to clear out his lungs and they suggested that I take Gus back to the vet the following day for more x-rays to see if there was any progress. They suggested that I take him to a Cardiologist and said that I would need to take him back to a vet again to make sure that his high glucose levels were just from stress and not from diabetes. Wednesday, I took Gus back to Dr. Miller at VCA All Creatures for updated x-rays and bloodwork. When the tests were all done, she told me to take him to a cardiologist as soon as possible. The cardiologist did more bloodwork and did an echocardiogram. She said that Gus did have heart failure and that that was easy enough to treat, but that he also had Diabetic Ketoacidosis. He had to be admitted and they wanted him there for a couple of days. He was to be kept in an oxygen cage and given liquid food through a tube, since he hadn't eaten for days. He was going to be transferred into the care of a Criticalist, a vet that deals only with critical cases. I made them promise to call me with any updates on his condition. They called me three times that night to let me know that his condition was stable, getting worse, and then stable again. Thursday morning, just before 9am, the Criticalist called me himself to let me know that Gus's kidneys were shutting down and that Gus was unable to empty his bladder. The medicine they were giving him to remove the fluid from his lungs (caused by the heart failure, which was brought about by the steroid shot several days earlier), as well as the aggressive treatment of potassium to counteract the insulin for the diabetes, dehydrated him to the point that his kidneys shut down. He suggested that I come see him right away. He was suffering, he was just shutting down. Gus was my child; I've lost my child. Today, July 5th, I received a condolence card from All Creatures, with a picture of a cat that looks much like my Gus, letting me know that they understand my loss. Let me ask you this, would you want to receive a card from someone that brought about the untimely the death of your child? read more

We took my son's pocket pet to the specialized vet at VCA. She was very knowledgeable and considerate of our needs. We got the medicine and food needed and within a few days our pet was feeling better and had gained back the lost weight. She's doing great now! read more

My dog spice had surgery here today! And I have been a nervous wreck. When he came out of surgery I received a picture and a text letting me know how the surgery went. It brought me so much comfort seeing a picture of him in recovery and knowing he was doing so much better. We have been extremely blessed with this animal hospital and I would recommend it to anyone! In my opinion, please keep your pets away from this veterinarian, especially both on Hwy K in O'Fallon, MO. I took my five year old boxer there today. He's hasn't eaten in three days and has barely had any water. He's lost about 12 pounds in the last six days and is obviously near death. He can barely hold himself up and the look in his eyes is unbearable. My mom and sister took him to VCA this past weekend. $175 for the visit and a shot that would keep him from vomitting for 24 hours. No real diagnosis and health continued to decline. I took him back again today desperately trying to get him some help. I first went to the 2205 Hwy K location today. The vet, Misty Ann Schneider, spent about two minutes petting him, checked his teeth and felt his stomach a bit. She stated that she didn't know what was wrong, but would go in the back to reccomend some options. She came back out about five minutes later with a list of things that they wanted to "try" and to the tune of almost $900. I asked her where we should start and she in turn said that she reccomended everything on the list. X-rays, blood work, 4 different types of medication, fecal sample test, you name it. She said that he looked ok and seemed to be full of energy. I explained that he loves people and animals and was just excited to be out of the house and see everyone. It became pretty obvious pretty quickly that it was more about charging me a huge bill than helping my dog. Misty Ann barely made eye contact while speaking to me and was pretty adamant on the "Guinea pig" approach. Needless to say, I couldn't get out of there soon enough! I asked Misty Ann to please bill me for her time so far and that I was going to get a second opinion. Another $44 down the drain while my dog continues to get sicker and weaker. I sat in the parking lot for amfewmminutes completely beside myself and thought, I gotta find the next nearest vet. I pulled out of the 2205 location and went a few blocks down Hwy K and found another VCA on the opposite side of the street. The vet there, Jennifer K Snyder, seemed to be a little more helpful at first. She went over each treatment option with me and I asked her which option we should start with. She reccomended the most expensive option first (go figure) which were the X-Rays. Ten minutes and $210 later, X-rays were clear. She then reccomended blood work be done...which was the second most expensive option. Low and behold, another $200 and supposedly the blood tests were fine even though she told me that the black stool was indicative of digested blood through the stomach?! At this point, I'm completely beside myself and just want to find a competent vet that can tell me what's wrong with my dog so I can at least make him comfortable. The veterinarians at both clinics both seemed to be very young (meaning not long out of school) and for lack of a better term, had no clue on what was wrong with my dog and how to properly diagnose/treat him. The last location reccomended that I take him to a specialist for an iv as she was tallying up my $459.15 bill for that visit. I'm now out $675.24 and don't have money to take him anywhere else. I'm sitting here now watching him and it's literally breaking my heart. I will copy and paste this review on every site that I can find hoping to save others from the experiencing the same. This is my honest experience and it is my firm opinion that you should find a clinic with experienced veterinarians that have actually know what they're doing. I'm kicking myself because I'm originally from St. Louis and have always worked with Webster Groves Animal Hospital on Big Bend. True professionals and experts in their field. In hindsight, I should've made the drive and taken my dog there. Again, in my opinion, DO NOT Take your pets to VCA clinics. Uncompassionate and more concerned about the "sale" than the wellbeing/care of animals. Please know that I'm not one to take time to write reviews, but my experience today is one that I felt I must share. I'm typically the one who reads them and I truly hope that you will do the same and heed my warning. Find experienced veterinarians who know what they're doing!! My dog adds new meaning to my best friend and I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't make it. So very, very disappointed.... read more
