Our cat died in the ER at this hospital. We rushed her in for what initially appeared to be gastrointestinal distress. She was stable when we arrived, but overnight her condition deteriorated rapidly. Throughout the night, we were repeatedly told that her body temperature kept dropping after sedation and medical interventions began. We were left wondering whether her response to the sedation or medications may have played a role in her death. We understand that emergency cases can be unpredictable, but we left with many unanswered questions about the course of care. Ultimately, we went home without our beloved cat. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. Experiencing it this way, with uncertainty and unresolved concerns, made it even more painful.

This Place did not give me a good feeling, it seem like a money pit, the Doctor at first was telling me that my dog who had a urine track infection would need surgery and that I might have to put her down, they said they needed to do test on her totaling over $2,000.00, where almost $800.00 just for medicine and then said that it was an infection and want me to keep my dog there for 2 day at a cost of $10,000.00. After reading a lot of the reviews, I have to agree, VCA is a Money Pit with over charging for there services, do not take you animal to this place unless you like to get ripped off

I was then referred to take Bruiser here to be seen by the internal medicine department. Luckily they were able to squeeze me in with Dr. Cieplucha. Dr. Cieplucha and her assistant were AMAZING. I'm sorry I can't remember her name. Her consult was thorough and she answered all my questions and concerns. Finances were an issue for me and she literally did what she could to help me out conservatively. Unfortunately my sweet Bruiser boy is in the late stages of cancer and there is nothing more we can do for him at this time. I am glad I came here to see a specialist because they answered all of my questions and help me decide what is best for my sweet boy. I wanted to give kudos for the wonderful ladies at the front as well because I was so nervous coming today but they were the sweetest individuals ever. Usually vet medicine is scary but I have ever felt so seen, heard, and welcomed. Thank you Dr. Cieplucha, her assistant and the wonderful staff of AVSG. I'm devastated to receive bad news but I couldn't have asked for a more amazing team to treat Bruiser.

The front desk person, as well as the nursing and supporting staff, were polite and kind, but that's the only compliment I have, unfortunately. Since my dog was suffering post-op, I was filled with worry and stress, and needed and expected medical guidance I could trust. I feel like I did not get that from my dog's attending vet and head of the department, Dr. April Summers. Dr. Summers did update me every day on my dog's status, but I felt that she failed to concisely communicate sound options for next steps. Her thoughts seemed scattered and sometimes contradictory to me, and she admitted during a phone call that my dog''s case "frustrated" her. This made me wary of my dog's treatment. My feelings were heightened, when during a visit, I found my dog's tail covered in urine. Even more concerning, during that same visit, we were taken to a room where we were provided with a tank of oxygen, which my dog needed. An hour later, my mom wondered if the tank was on. She asked a nurse who confirmed that it was off and turned it on. Because of my negative experience with Dr. Summers and her team, I would never advise anyone to leave their pet's care with AVSG Critical Care at this time.

From the moment we walked in, the team (Brandon especially) stood out. Brandon was incredibly kind, patient, and communicative, which made a huge difference for us as anxious parents. He loves labs too and mocha loves being loved! Toni, Julie, Serena and Marcela were amazing with mocha too and really helped calm some of her stress too Dr Sohn took the time to thoroughly talk with us, gather Mocha's history, and understand everything that was going on. We never felt rushed or brushed off, they made sure we were fully informed and prepared for each step. Most importantly, they helped keep us calm during an overwhelming situation. They didn't try to oversell unnecessary tests, but they also made sure to run a comprehensive set of diagnostics so that no possibilities were overlooked. It felt like they genuinely cared about doing what was best for Mocha, not just checking boxes. Overall, we felt supported, heard, and confident in the care Mocha received. We're very grateful to the team and would definitely recommend them!

That leads to me believe that it's not even actually him responding to people on Yelp. A manager of the hospital called and said they were the best person to help me, and I insisted that I speak to Mr. Cao. They continued on that they are the managers and the best people to help me, but I insisted that I talked to someone that is actually a doctor and not administrative. it has been more than three days. We got an analysis of the fluid in his abdomen that built up, which was more than a pint and a half and this hospital allowed it to remain and didn't even take a sample like they promised to do. The analysis showed that his body is fighting some sort of infection and his blood cells rapidly increased. Not only could they have removed the fluid, but they could have given him an antibiotic. They failed to give our antibiotic to our French bulldog as well when he had an infection. In my opinion, it is cruelty to a dog to do what they did and just take my money and allow him to suffer. He is anemic and fighting an infection and basically fighting for his life. Now they won't even respond to me. There are a few good doctors here that do the right thing. But has a hole, two out of our four visits in the last year. These guys have not done what was right for our dogs and left two dogs in pain leaving their hospital without proper care.

Our Doberman, Monty, was rushed in after suffering a ruptured splenic mass and internal bleeding, and we were absolutely terrified that we were going to lose him. Thanks to Dr. Kim and the incredible team here, our baby is still alive today. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with compassion, honesty, and genuine care during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. Dr. Kim was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also kind, patient, and reassuring when we needed it most. You could feel how deeply he cared about Monty and about helping us navigate such an emotional and overwhelming situation. We will never forget the dedication and skill that went into saving our boy. We also want to give a very special thank you to Katlynn, the lead veterinary assistant, who truly went above and beyond for us. Her kindness, empathy, support, and communication made an unbearable situation feel a little less heavy. She treated Monty like he was her own and treated us with so much compassion and understanding throughout the entire process. Every single member of the staff we encountered showed us warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. In rescue, we unfortunately see a lot of veterinary situations, and it is rare to find a team that combines both medical excellence and such heartfelt humanity the way this team does. Because of Dr. Kim, Katlynn, and the entire staff, Monty got another chance at life, and we will forever be grateful for that. Thank you for saving our baby.

She had already gone to her doctor earlier that day and was treated, and we thought she might be ok for the night at home; however, once the pain meds wore off, she was definitely not feeling well. We took her to the Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital, and she was treated wonderfully. I've had previous poor experiences with other emergency rooms, but this one was different. From the moment we walked in, she had her vitals taken quickly. We then waited (not long) for her to see a doctor, and the doctor came in to give us an idea of what needed to be done. We left her there for further testing, fluids, and pain control. We were contacted, and the results were reviewed over the phone (I was sent links for radiology and labs) to go over them with the doctor. The plan of care was thoroughly explained, and she felt better the next morning. I even received updates and a photo from that evening. We picked her up and were sent home with medical records and everything she needed to continue care with her regular primary vet. Everything was also sent directly to her regular primary care vet. Everyone was pleasant and truly seemed to care about the circumstances. Dr You was great with her and very good at going over the results. Honey was treated like family. She left in the morning and was on the road to recovery along with her primary vet, whom we took her to that day. Lo and behold, the following week, Honey was outside using the backyard restroom when a coyote attacked her. Our black lab rescued her, and I am so thankful nothing worse happened. Be careful, it's Coyote season! I knew when that happened she had a laceration to her face and it would need to be repaired, it was after hours so there we went back to Fountain Valley Emergency Pet Hospital. We were seen relatively quickly; they had a busy night, and the doctor was in surgery when we arrived. Honey was stable, so we waited until she could be seen. Dr. Hoogeveen saw Honey and she was great, she came to speak to us and explain what Honey would need and the best course of treatment for her. Honey had to undergo general anesthesia, which we were extremely concerned about, given her age and the fact that she was still recovering from a very rough bout of pancreatitis. Dr. Hoogeveen walked us through it, answered all of our questions, and provided direction for her care. Honey stayed the night again, once Dr. Hoogeveen was done with the surgery she contacted us to let us know how everything went. We were able to pick up Honey in the morning, and she looked well. Honey recovered well,l and they took good care of her. Honey is now recovering at home after a very stressful two week,s and I am grateful that we had a place to go to for her care when her regular Vet was closed. As far as cleanliness, it's very clean. The staff are all wonderful. They offer different payment options, such as CareCredit and Cherry. I don't know if they offer others, but we were able to qualify for Cherry, which was a considerable relief after an expensive two weeks! Honey is now recovering at home. The only wish I have is that they would be open a bit later during the weekdays. Not every regular vet is open early for transfer. Hopefully, in the future, that can be an option. I wouldn't hesitate to take your pet here if you need emergent care. I appreciate that they treated Honey like family. Hopefully, we won't be back anytime soon, but I still recommend them if you need to!

Danielle was kind…read moreenough to take the information about Sonny's urgent need when I initially called and was able to contact Dr. Becky, who graciously accepted taking our last minute late night house call (It was maybe less than an hour notice). Dr. Becky was gentle, patient, and flexible. She not only provided her services excellently, she explained every step, waiting to make sure we were ready for each step, told us what to expect and made a sad situation as positive as she could. The vehicle that Dr. Becky uses to transport our beloved boy was arranged beautifully. She had a blanket to keep him covered while he was transported into her van. She allowed us to have extra goodbye time and we each got to say goodbye again. My only suggestion for people who are paying for these services would be when the doctor asks If you'd prefer to complete payment before or after services, choose before. I chose to do it after and providing a payment while you're actively grieving is an interesting feeling and sight, and I'm sure it could also be uncomfortable for the doctor seeing a family crying and still having to ask for method of payment - sorry Dr. Becky. The next day, I saw I had received a voicemail from an unknown number. Dr. Becky left me a voicemail just to check in and see how we were doing since Sonny's passing and to let us know that she was thinking of us - thank you Dr. Becky. 2 weeks later, I followed up with AHPE to inquire on any steps I should be taking regarding picking up my boy's ashes. Danielle reached out to me directly via email and let me know that he was ready to be picked up, and it felt like a full circle moment. Danielle helped me from the first time I called needing help and was the last person I communicated with after all was said and done - Thank you Danielle, please know that those little details do stay with us. Danielle's email was kind and supportive, as every interaction I've had with her had been. Once my family and I arrived to pick up Sonny, at the address provided, the woman at the desk very kindly went to the back to grab our boy. She opened the gift box, created by Honor Pet, and revealed a beautiful wooden box with intricate carvings, the certification of water cremation (impressive service), a vial of my boy's fur, and the 2 paw prints we paid for. What we didn't pay for, that this company Honor Pet provided, was a candle that came with a cute poem, a packet of flower seeds (Forget-Me-Nots....are you crying yet?), a brochure for Pet Loss Grief, and my favorite one that I was not expecting..a little cardstock page, maybe 4x6" of his big booper snooper. My boys nose that I kissed so frequently in life, and was the last thing I kissed before saying goodbye to his body. We paid for the ashes, the paws, and I don't remember if the vial of fur was included or not, but the manner that each person and company, At Home Pet Euthanasia and Honor Pet, took care of Sonny and my family, made it worth every penny. When making the difficult decision at the vet's office to take him home, they offered to lower the price to be able to help us. We said, it's not all about the money, it's what we want for him. So, is it expensive? Yeah, but everything is. Could our situation have been handled or cared for better than it was? Probably not. I will recommend these services to anyone unfortunate enough to need them because they truly care about you and your loved one and we felt that.

That small gesture spoke volumes. It made me feel trusted and respected as a client, rather than treated like a transaction. What also stood out was the way they handled my cat with patience and care. Ultimately, there was nothing more that we or they could have done but I feel at peace knowing we did absolutely everything in our power to save our boy. We felt really supported during some very tough, fast-moving decisions. We've come to know and expect the kindest and most reliable service here and will continue to think of Pacific Care first for our emergency pet care needs for our other beloved pet.

Incredibly compassionate staff. We went on a Saturday to see an internal medicine doctor, who…read morerealized we needed to meet with an oncologist. We waited and were able to meet with the oncologist, who doesn't normally come in on weekends but made an exception for us and other patients. We were given very clear next steps. Their communication was very clear, and they were very empathetic to our situation. They have been very transparent about pricing, and have fantastic follow up. We traveled over an hour to get immediate attention for our kitty and it was worth it. I wish they were closer, so they could be our regular vet. We are still deciding on next steps, but I wanted to ensure that it was clear that the people here at this facility DO care. It's not another 'just here to take your money using the love of your pet as hostage' situation that many of us know all too well. Office was clean, easily accessible, and had lots of parking. Sadly it's all the way in Irvine LOL
