[[HIGHLIGHT]]We had an incredible experience with the dental clinic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were extremely anxious about our pup undergoing anesthesia and having teeth extracted. Not only did they do an amazing job, but they also guided us through the procedure and kept us informed about his progress, which significantly reduced our anxiety. Our boy recovered much faster than anticipated and now appears happier than ever. Thank you, ADS!

From the first greeting with Tammy all the way up to my fur-baby's procedure discharge with Dr. Mirchel, the experience was more than what I could have asked for. As a nervous pet mom, I greatly appreciated how everyone welcomed Rigby like on of their own. (He's ALSO a very nervous little guy). In addition to the excellent service, this facility sent me text messages to alert me of my little guy's process. This was extremely helpful because I didn't have to keep wondering about him. I'm very thankful for Dr. Mirchel, Beatriz, Tammy, Stephanie and all of the other members working hard for our furry family members. Thank you!

    My happy toothless baby

I wanted to leave a review because I'm a crazy cat mom who read's reviews before doing anything with my fur babies. My cat had stomatitis and I tried everything before her vet recommended extractions. I will say we are on the extra side because her vet did not recommend specialty care but I wanted the best care for my babies procedure. All surgeries can be scary and me and my Sofia had anxiety leading up to it but ADS made it not worth any anxiety at all. The whole surgery day went perfectly and I couldn't have asked for better people to take care of my daughter (my cat Sofia). They were in constant contact with me so I didn't worry at all. Dr Van Nice called me after her procedure to tell me it went great! The other doctor Dr Merchel (I think is her name) is amazing she helped us with her discharge and post op recheck. I brought blankets for them to give to her after her surgery and they followed all of my wishes. They are extremely caring people. You can trust them with your most precious cargo. You can tell they are very organized and thorough. Worth every $1. Sofia's nurse was so caring her name was Stephanie. She went above and beyond to meet my wishes. They checked on us the next day to see how she was doing. My cat had just turned 2 so for us it was about the best quality of life for her many years ahead of her. Thank you so much for helping my gummy bear ADS team, she's doing so good with no teeth. I'm so happy for her. She is her normal crack head self unfazed by having no teeth now. Really could not have gone better. We are so thankful. - Natasha & Sofia

My dog fractured her upper carnassial and needed a biopsy on a lump on her gums. My primary vet referred me to a dental specialist for treatment options. She did not refer me to Dr. Van Nice, but I had already done some research myself after I suspected she broke her tooth. In my hunt, the two dental specialty offices in the OC area that came highly recommended were the one she had referred me to and Animal Dental Services. I called both offices on March 19 to see when I could get a consultation. I knew before contacting the offices that getting an appointment would mean patience, as there are so few "doggie dentists" in the area. The specialist my vet referred me to had an opening on April 17, and Dr. Van Nice could see my dog on March 27. While both were highly qualified, I had already been leaning towards Dr. Van Nice since he is board certified; he's part of the Advanced Veterinary Specialty Group, the same as my dog's orthopedic specialist -- both in the same building; but the earlier appointment time was also a HUGE bonus. Consultation appointments are held from 8-9:30 am and the fee is $97. You have to give a credit or debit card to hold the appointment and I was told they will charge you the full amount if you give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation. Similar policy to my human dentist. Dr. Van Nice is the nicest man and was very gentle with my dog, who is beyond terrified of vet offices. Looking at the molar, he immediately diagnosed a slab fracture and gave me the option of a root canal with a crown or extraction. He laid out the pros and cons of each procedure, post-surgery recovery for each, but never once did I feel he was pushing me towards one versus the other, or that I would be doing my dog a disservice by doing an extraction instead of saving the tooth. He even took the time to explain how this fracture happens on a model of a dog's jaw and gave me tips on how to check if a chew is teeth-friendly. He was thorough and answered any and all questions I had. My dog had her biopsy/surgery on April 10 and as stressful as this situation was, I couldn't be more pleased with the level of care she received from everyone. I'm not sure what could've prompted the reviews saying Practice Administrator Julie was "difficult" because that wasn't my experience with her AT ALL. I had been expecting Nurse Ratchet judging by some of the other reviews, but she was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and thorough in her post-op care instructions. I even requested a phone call after the blood panel/x-rays were done to make sure everything looked okay to proceed as planned, and she was more than willing to accommodate me. In the end, my final bill even turned out to be $200 less than what I was initially quoted. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my dog back to Dr. Van Nice and Animal Dental Services if ever the need should arise again. But with that said, I hope I never have to!

He wasn't looking so good so I was calling around to see who could take him in on such late notice. Luckily we were able to be seen in 30 minutes on a Thursday morning! The staff were super nice, empathetic, and informative. We did an exam and some blood work, and sure enough he was feeling nauseous, with him drooling and all, and they were able to detect the foreign object through an x-ray. Dr. Negvesky was very helpful and knowledgeable. She explained all of the procedures and potential outcomes. They provided me an invoice of all of the exams and procedures, and recommendations, and I was able to decide on what we could do given our financial circumstances. They were all understanding and supportive and patient as I was going back and forth with my partner on what to do. They eventually referred us to a specialist to get an endoscopy done to take the foreign object out. After everything was done and our cat was discharged, we got a text from Tustin Legacy to check up on him and that was so lovely for them to do that. I definitely recommend this Animal Hospital 100%

Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

Dr Cambridge was the best surgeon at VSS Tustin. Dr Cambridge is no longer practicing there…read more I was seeking help for my dog's complex orthopedic injury during a critical time. Because of the severity of his condition, I respectfully requested to see a more experienced veterinarian within the same practice. Instead of accommodating that request or helping me find the most qualified doctor within their own hospital, Dr. Walker told me to take my dog somewhere else, and the management allowed that decision to stand. I found this deeply disappointing. When an animal is suffering and an owner is simply asking for the most experienced care available within the practice, I believe compassion, ethics, and the patient's best interests should come first. Rather than working with me to help my dog, I felt dismissed at one of the most critical moments in his care. I understand that veterinary practices have policies and doctors have professional judgment. However, I expected a more humane and ethical response. My goal was never to create conflict--it was to give my dog the best possible chance. Instead, I left feeling that neither my concerns nor my dog's welfare were given the consideration they deserved. I hope the practice reflects on how situations like this are handled in the future. Pet owners facing difficult medical decisions deserve to be treated with respect, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping their animals receive the best care possible. I would not recommend Dr Walker. Ethics are important, compassion, and trust. Unfortunately I did not get this. My dog is the one that suffered the most.

As noted in my…read moreoriginal review, my pup got spayed back in March of this year, and the whole process was as smooth as it possibly could have been (besides me being a nervous wreck the whole time because what dog mom isn't when their fur baby is undergoing surgery?!) The staff was super reassuring, answered every question to every last detail, Dr. Lee made sure to come and speak with me directly to also provide that added reassurance as well. They were very thorough with the discharge as well, I got a phone call from Dr. Lee the moment her spay was completed to let me know everything went well, and he informed me that I could pick her up in a few additional hours as to ensure they could monitor her post spay before discharge. When i went to pick her up, she was understandably zoned out but, you could also tell she was well looked after and she felt safe being with the staff (this is what really made the experience so comforting for me) I was provided discharge papers with instructions, and medication for her to take over the next couple of days. Her incisions were done so neatly, and the stitches were so impressively done! It took about a week for her to be back to her sassy self, and by the end of week 2, her stitches were barely visible!! Dr. Lee uses dissolving stitches so there was no need to go back to have them removed. This was also a huge plus for me as other vets I had shopped around at, did inform me that I would need to come in for stitches to be removed and for a follow up exam. Dr. Lee made it simple and simply asked that I provide detailed photos via email, and that if he felt there was need for a follow up he would determine it at that time. Needless to say, no follow up was needed! It's now been 4 months post spay and my pup doesn't even have a scar! CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had to share, I emailed Dr. Lee's office about an hour ago asking about some general vaccine questions. I didn't expect any answer today as it's past 5 PM on a Sunday, and their office is closed on Sundays anyhow. To my surprise, someone replied to me within minutes, and continued to reply back and forth within the email thread for nearly 20 minutes to answer all my questions!! I know lots of places out there advertise "24 hour support" etc. yet fall short. Lee animal hospital doesn't advertise that but, their customer service simply speaks for itself. This wasn't an email around a paid service or appointment, it was a genuine generic question that I could have easily searched online for an answer but, opted to ask the team for peace of mind. Really shows what a great staff they have and how they truly care about their clients! If you're looking for a new vet, a secondary vet, or just a better vet, i highly recommend Lee animal hospital. Even if you're not local to Orange, if you're in the surrounding cities, it's well worth the short commute and it's conveniently located right off the freeway which is a bonus!
