Although I did not go in to the store, I spoke with someone over the phone and they were so helpful! My dog ate some chocolate left out on the table while we were away. We called the animal poison control and they wanted $85 JUST TO TALK TO US!!!! We called this place and the nurse passed our info over to a doctor which gave us great instructions for watching over our pup. He's doing great and didn't need to spend any money. Finally, a place that cares about our animals and not just sucking our wallets dry! Thank you!!!

Our Doberman, Monty, was rushed in after suffering a ruptured splenic mass and internal bleeding, and we were absolutely terrified that we were going to lose him. Thanks to Dr. Kim and the incredible team here, our baby is still alive today. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with compassion, honesty, and genuine care during one of the hardest moments our family has faced. Dr. Kim was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also kind, patient, and reassuring when we needed it most. You could feel how deeply he cared about Monty and about helping us navigate such an emotional and overwhelming situation. We will never forget the dedication and skill that went into saving our boy. We also want to give a very special thank you to Katlynn, the lead veterinary assistant, who truly went above and beyond for us. Her kindness, empathy, support, and communication made an unbearable situation feel a little less heavy. She treated Monty like he was her own and treated us with so much compassion and understanding throughout the entire process. Every single member of the staff we encountered showed us warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. In rescue, we unfortunately see a lot of veterinary situations, and it is rare to find a team that combines both medical excellence and such heartfelt humanity the way this team does. Because of Dr. Kim, Katlynn, and the entire staff, Monty got another chance at life, and we will forever be grateful for that. Thank you for saving our baby.

Dr. Kim, Alex the Manager, and their incredible team of veterinary technicians once again showed the boundless depth of their skill and compassion. A heartfelt shoutout to Ernesto, Chelsea, Omar for their support throughout the surgery. They cared for my boy with such steadfast dedication and also managed to somehow find time to comfort his very anxious hooman mom. If they had not acted as quickly as they did to move forward with surgery, my pup could have suffered a rupture that would have taken him from me. They have given me something truly priceless. They have granted me more time with the dog who has been by my side for 17 years. I will treasure every moment of it, and I will forever be indebted to this incredible team. Thank you for returning my boy back to me.

Her incision and stitches did not look right, and she developed open wounds, signs of infection, and significant discomfort. I contacted the office multiple times, sent photos, and brought her in for a follow-up, yet I was repeatedly told that everything looked normal and that she was fine. After continuing to raise concerns, I was finally told to take her to Irvine Valley Veterinary Hospital. I spent the night there and was charged nearly an additional $1,000 to have her incision re-stitched. It was incredibly frustrating to have repeatedly voiced concerns, only to end up paying significantly more to address a problem I had been told multiple times was "fine." I expressed how unhappy I was with the situation and was told the medical director would contact me. I never received a call. More recently, I noticed a pattern on the whites of my cat's eyes and sent a photo to the office. I was told by the vet that it was not normal and that I should either bring her in or see a veterinary ophthalmologist. I followed their recommendation and went to the ophthalmologist they referred me to, only to be told after a 20 second exam that what I was seeing was completely normal. I still had to pay the office visit and exam fees. Between the complications from her spay, my concerns being repeatedly dismissed, the lack of follow-up from the medical director, and being unnecessarily worried and referred to a specialist for something that turned out to be normal, I've lost confidence in the care provided here. My experiences with Dr. Ramos and other veterinarians at both the primary care office and hospital have left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the level of care, communication, and professionalism was not what I would expect from a veterinary practice. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

We got a private room and all the time we needed with her in there. We never felt rushed. They were also kind enough to waive our x-ray fees. The pricing is comparable to other emergency exotic vets we've been to (more expensive than a typical vet visit), so we knew what to expect. A very terrifying situation... When I entered I was a mess, and they were so quick, kind and responsive. They immediately started care for my kitten and came up with a detailed plan outlining everything they would suggest and took the time to explain why. The team here was so gentle and caring with my kitten making an already stressful and scary situation feel an essence of calm and that everything was under control. They did a few tests on my kitten and treated her, and even in that situation they managed to keep her as comfortable as possible. Their diagnosis for my kitten seemed dead on, as soon as we started treatment she was already showing signs of improvement. She had swelling in her eye and they knew exactly what to do. Today my kitten is calm, seems back to her normal self like nothing ever happened and her eye has shown amazing improvement as far as the pupil and swelling. My family and I are so thankful for their care! Hopefully I will not need to return, but if we ever do I know exactly where to take my pets and can trust them. Thank you!

I was devastated at the possibility that this was going to be the outcome, and Dr. Berschauer and his staff made the pain of losing a pet and all of the emotions that came with it feel just a tiny bit more bearable. Their bedside manner, the way they treated us, and especially the way they treated our dog meant so much to us. Moments like these are incredibly hard, and I'm just so thankful that this was the place we chose to go, even though there were other facilities much closer to us. We never felt rushed & Dr. Berschauer took the time to make sure we understood why he believed it was the right decision given our dog's physical state and the pain he was in. His kind words and the way the entire staff cared for us made it feel like such a peaceful transition for our dog. We left obviously heartbroken and incredibly emotional, but also at peace knowing that he was surrounded by us and was able to take his last breath peacefully. It never felt clinical or like we were just in a room waiting for something awful to happen. They gave us the time and space to say goodbye. Thank you so much to Dr. Berschauer and your entire staff. It meant more to us than you probably realize to have that time with him and to be there when he took his last breath. We will always be grateful for the kindness you showed our family during one of the hardest moments we've ever had.

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Shmit left me feeling more anxious and upset than reassured. From the beginning, there was very little warmth or empathy. She did not introduce herself, and the interaction quickly felt more like I was being scolded than spoken to as a worried pet parent. She brought up concerns that my puppy was underweight, which I was absolutely willing to discuss, but the delivery felt judgmental rather than compassionate. I was asked a very long list of questions and did my best to answer each one thoroughly. I had also agreed to have the visit recorded. Yet when I had questions of my own, I felt the answers were rushed. What bothered me most was being asked to sign off on things before I had even been able to see my puppy. Maybe I'm old-school, but when someone walks into an emergency veterinary hospital scared for their animal, a simple introduction, eye contact, and a little compassion go a very long way. None of that happened here. I want to be fair and say that while sitting in the beautiful waiting room, I watched other veterinarians interact with pet parents very differently--with warmth, patience, and empathy. So I do believe there are wonderful vets at RISE. If I ever had to return, however, I would specifically request a different veterinarian. The medical knowledge may be there, but bedside manner matters too--especially when someone is scared for a member of their family.

During a moment when we were trying to process so much emotionally, his patience, honesty, and compassion meant more to us than I can put into words. I also want to recognize the veterinary technician who was with us that day. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name, but I hope she knows how much her kindness meant to us. She was incredibly caring and gentle with Marley and so compassionate toward our family. Every interaction we had with her made us feel like Marley was being cared for by someone who truly understood just how special he was to us. As someone who works in veterinary medicine myself, I know how emotionally demanding these moments can be for the veterinary team as well.
