I had been taking my 15 year old Chihuahua mix, Lilly, to Irvine Valley Vet for a few years. She had heart disease, and after several fluid drains, I knew it was time to let her go peacefully. Sadly, my experience on October 22, 2025 with Dr. Aida Kasaei was devastating. The technician was kind and explained the process well, but once the sedation was given, Lilly began breathing rapidly and became unresponsive. The technician took her to place the IV for just a minute, but when they brought her back, she was already gone. Despite that, Dr. Kasaei quickly injected multiple vials into her IV for the anesthesia and euthanasia, insisting she was still breathing even though it was clear she had already passed. Everything felt rushed and cold during what should have been a calm and loving goodbye. It felt as if she wanted to be sure to use the vials since I had already paid, instead of allowing me a peaceful moment with my dog. I didnt even get to be there with her when she took her last breath. That will forever break my heart. I have spent thousands of dollars here over the years, and this visit alone was $447.37 for euthanasia and cremation. Their prices have always been extremely high. On top of that, there had been multiple inconsistencies in Lilly's medication dosages over several months, which was very concerning. While some staff members are wonderful and caring, I cannot recommend this hospital for end of life care. My trust was broken, and the experience was deeply traumatizing. I've never seen a vet scared of dogs before, but here we are. We took our husky/shepherd mix in for an exam and Dr. Ramos came in looking and acting like someone who suffers from legitimate PTSD of dogs. (If this is actually the case and she was attacked by a different dog, I can empathize with her, but treating my dog poorly because of it is unacceptable to me.) My dog showed ZERO signs of aggression, and was gently eating the treats offered. Dr. Ramos didn't even try touching him, but within 90 seconds said she needed to take him to the back to MUZZLE him. I replied by saying, "whatever you need to do to be comfortable". However, EVERY other vet/vet tech my dog has ever met has loved him for how sweet he is. He was doing great with IVVH's vet tech as well. 2 minutes later I hear my dog scream like he's never screamed before, and after they brought him into the exam room for our help I'd never seen him so scared, or heard him breath so hard out of fear. I've also never heard him growl the way he did while Dr Ramos was squeezing anal glands. I've seen groomers do a better job of doing this. She should NOT be around large dogs WHATSOEVER. Shout out to the front desk woman and the vet tech on duty though. They're the only reason I gave 2 stars. Whoever owns this place needs to give them both a raise. They handled my irate attitude with empathy, and I tried to make sure they understood that I was not mad at them. read more

I strongly recommend not to send your pets to this place, their unprofessional decision will kill those adorable furry babies!!! The beginning of this year, there was a female doctor ignored that my dog had obviously heart issues and insisted on cleaning her teeth and pulled out four teeth without asking us for permission!!!! We picked up her same day, she was in a bad condition, they told us that caused by the anesthesia effect. Two days later we sent her to an emergency care, the doctor ask permission for mercy killing, we refused and brought her home. She survived that day and recovered after we gave her some liquid IV. But she still couldn't make it until yesterday, she died in the kitchen when we got out for groceries, obviously she died due to a heart attack, recently she started coughing very bad day and night. What the hospital made us mad is that they knew my dog had heart illness and coughed bad that day, they still insisted on teeth cleaning procedures and they pulled her teeth out without telling us, the manager explained they had right to pull out teeth without telling the owners, new regulations.... my baby girl is dead now, we really hate those unprofessional people in this place!! Hopefully you won't need their services, but if you end up having an emergency with a pet family member, they will be the most gentle and thoughtful people to treat your pet. My wife's cat had a heart condition that most cats get when they get to a certain age, and they will so comprehensive and kind in explaining everything. I have had vet hospitals pressure me to make decisions or speak to me like the animal I've spent a majority of my life with is an object or a possession. But this place will be genuine and humane. I brought my dog in around 9am on a Sunday after she neglected to eat breakfast, threw up 3x and it had a bit of blood in it, and she was very lethargic. When we arrived, there was one other person in the waiting room. I understand that others may have had appointments so that may be irrelevant. But none the less. Upon arrival, they asked an abundance of questions regarding what's going on with my dog. Additionally they charged $99 for an exam. JUST an exam is $99. What does the exam consist of? A vet tech asking the same exact questions that the lady at the front did, and checking vitals. That is $99. If you ask me, that is insane. Checking vitals and questioning for symptoms would have to happen regardless of any additional testing they need. Highway robbery. Surprisingly *enter sarcasm here* they weren't able to adequately diagnose anything after just checking vitals, so they hit me with a few options: bloodwork, fluids, fecal exam, anti nausea pills, and pills to help restore her stomach lining. All for a whopping $898. Don't forget, I also paid the $99 for the exam. So without any information, I would have paid $1000. I asked to move forward with just blood work. After the bloodwork came, it showed up normal, but the doctor said he noticed that her liver enzymes were elevated. After a quick chat gpt search I was comforted to know that is extremely normal when a dog experiences some sort of GI issue (throwing up). The doctor, did not mention this. Instead he asked me "how much money are you willing to spend?" He then proceeded to tell me all of the things that he could test for, and asked me which one I would like to do. I was shocked, as I am not a vet, so I had no idea. When I asked him what he recommended, he proceeded to just explain the different tests. SO, i decided, give her the fluids, give her the pills, and we can be on our way. In total I ended up spending $900. We also waited for 3 hours. Which brings me back to my original comment that we were there with 1 other person in the waiting room. We waited 3 hours for the results of a blood test that takes 30 minutes,. Since this vet visit, my dog has been totally normal. She must have just ate something she shouldn't have. All she needed was some fluids and for whatever it was, to pass. But $1000 for uncertainty, a 3 hour wait, and to be asked "how much money are you willing to spend?"-- no thanks. Hopefully I don't need to come back to any vet hospital at all, but if i do, definitely won't be this one. read more

For some insight to this review Maverick had ruptured 3 disks in his back in March of 2022 in which he was unable to use his back legs and had to undergo surgery. After a few months of rest, recovery, and assistance on my end he was able to regain use of his back legs with some limitations and seemingly no pain. During that time period the neurologist that performed the surgery did not recommend any physical therapy although a shake in his back right leg and apparent resting of weight primarily on his front legs. Fast forward about 1.5 years and Maverick was in very apparent pain and barely able to move one of his back legs again - leveraging only his upper body for movement. This is when we started seeing Dr. Nauss. My experience with Dr. Nauss has been absolutely amazing. He is extremely thorough in his assessments, treatments, and next step plans. Even after Maverick's first treatment, you could see a night and day difference in his pain level and ability to move around. After multiple treatments you could physically feel the difference and relief in tightness around his back and neck (knots removed and body less tense). In addition, you could see the positive change in his personality. Back to being "crazy" and trying to sprint everywhere, play with toys, jump up and down on people, couches, etc. (although we are trying to limit it as much as possible). I can't thank Dr. Nauss and his team enough for the help. Maverick went from a ton of pain, barely walking, and our family stressing about another surgery or potential wheelchair scenario to being back to his old self. read more

I can say with certainty there is no other staff I trust more with the health and safety of my pets. The staff is patient, kind, knowledgeable, and highly trained. I went to the Sand Canyon location yesterday after my senior chihuahua has been having some on going sinus issues. It's been about 6 months of going to see his primary vet regularly with not too many answers and the attention to care just wasn't there. I opted to try this location after hearing rave reviews of their staff and I am so happy I did. We met with a vet named Tarlan who gave such care and time to our concerns. Although much of what she said in terms of on going care and at home remedies compared to the previous vet, the level of her care exceeded our previous experiences. She even offered some OTC remedies to keep our senior pup comfortable in his final months or years. The entire staff were all very kind and professional and the office is extremely clean which tells you everything about a business. read more

I would not recommend this veterinary office to anyone. We pay an expensive yearly membership that cannot be broken only to be met with extremely limited office hours and incompetence. Although the staff always appears to be friendly, we have encountered several errors in scheduling, medication pickup locations, and excuses. We just left our scheduled appointment in which we have had to reschedule multiple times. The staff claimed to have no recollection of the scheduled procedures that we spoke of the last appointment. We were asked to schedule another appointment for the following day at an earlier time. Unfortunately we had already taken time off of work for this appointment. We only receive offers to schedule appointments between Monday-Wednesday and only until 2:30. If you don't work and have a ton of time to keep rescheduling appointments during the weekday then this is the vet office for you. While I can understand that being short-staffed can impact customer service and availability, I can't understand why I pay a membership for this vet office as it presents itself to provide "high-end veterinary services". read more

They charge a $350 annual membership fee to see a vet. Prior to covid they were great had such a great experience for years and then they decided they could make more off their customers by marketing the idea that paying an annual membership you can make an appointment and see a doctor (like any other office) and you get vet visits free. So that $80 vet visit (if you only go one a year) is essentially $350 dollars on top of anything else you may need to pay for like blood work, vaccines, etc. They do have an emergency location that you can go to but they are so unorganized, no one knows what anyone else is doing. You will go over the same questions multiple times because no one makes notes within your file. AND if you need a prescription they will tell you that you'll need to get that from a primary care doctor which conveniently for them is only at their other location that will require you paying the $350 annual membership fee. It's so unfortunate that they are taking such advantage of people and hiding behind the pandemic as an excuse to hide the fact that this is nothing more than greed. read more

I brought my dog here in the middle of the night after she experienced a seizure. The staff was amazing. I did have to wait a few hours before my dog could see the doctor, but maybe it was a busy night. They took her in for some standard/basic exams and then the doctor came in to discuss the results. I wasn't pressured into any unnecessary added costs, they listened to me didn't make me feel guilty about not being able to admit my pup. Dr. Nauss is an excellent vet. He is very smart, but also extremely kind and compassionate. You can tell when he examines your dog that he cares how they are doing. He is extremely personable, responsive and helpful. I don't know how he does it, but he always remembers details about my dog. And he knows soooo much about veterinary medicine. He became our vet as my dog is in advanced stage of renal disease. He has been a blessing during this time. He's knowledgeable, practical about finances and able to talk about quality of life decisions and grief. I feel very supported and I'm grateful to him. Dr. Nauss and Dr. French are both amazing! They are gentle, patient, and caring with my dog (who can sometimes be anxious). They are also very knowledgeable, great at explaining things to me, and patient with my questions. I love the membership system where exams are included for the year! My dog has had quite a few health challenges and it's so nice to just bring her in if I have any questions. I'm usually able to get appointments easily and quickly; usually same day or next day if something urgent comes up. Dr. Nauss has also done Integrative Medicine appointments with acupuncture, laser, and massage while my puppy was recovering from hip surgery. All of the vet assistants and the front desk are so friendly and helpful too! Also, I think it is a big bonus that whenever I need to bring her to the emergency hospital, they have all of our records on file already because we are members at the primary care facility. We called around to emergency vets and the only one that not only didn't have as long of a wait, but the only who texted me to complete information on our dog to expedite things when we got there. This vet is AMAZING. I don't know what took us so long to sign up for the membership here but now that we have we have undoubtedly saved the amount of money the membership costs of not more. We have gotten our dog into the vet within 48 hours of reporting an issue where our previous vet would have taken WEEKS. both vets are extremely kind and knowledgeable and you can tell they genuinely care. We see Dr. French more often and I can honestly say she is one of the most wonderful people and vets we've ever seen. All of the vet techs and the front desk are professional but warm and our dog is no longer nervous about being at the vet and that speaks volumes. We are so thankful for such a wonderful vet that we trust and that also doesn't cost us hundreds of dollars per visit. I would recommend this vet to everyone and anyone! read more

A fee this high to walk in the door is usury, not usual or customary and shows that they are doing their best to take advantage any customer. We were fortunate enough to win a membership to this clinic so thought we would give it a try. The membership covers exam fees for a year. We have now seen both Drs that work here and have really been impressed by both! They are both caring, patient and you can see they really love what they do with how they interact with you and your pets. The front staff is always so pleasant and they send sms reminders for appointments as well as allow you to schedule all via text, which if you are busy, is a wonderful pro! They also let me know about their app to earn savings on future vet Visits as well. Just overall a great place to be connected to in my opinion :) they are very active in the community and encourage community wellness! We will be moving our second pet here when he is also due for a visit. I am surprised this clinic doesn't have more reviews overall, but you have to start somewhere :) one good review at a time, they really do deserve it. Thank you to all the staff! read more
