I was really disappointed with the taste of the food. I ordered the two pupusa meal, bean and cheese. The beans were super salty I couldn't finish my meal. I also ordered fried plantains which were very tasty. I will definitely go back since I know there pupusas are great, they were probably just having a bad day. Service was good, the lady at the register was friendly and helpful. Place is a little loud but understandable since there are many other restaurants. read more

I was really disappointed in this spot. My husband and I saw someone eating their steak fries so we wanted to try it. The best part about the fries was the chipotle sauce, that's all. The meat was extremely bland and overcooked. read more

Vchos is located inside the Haven City Market of West Covina. As I was checking out all of the different shops to try out at the food court, I saw this place and their plantains so I knew I had to try it out. I got their Revuelta which has cheese beans and pork, along with their add on plantains. The food took a little long for a couple pupusas but it was tasty and had a good flavor. I certainly enjoyed the plantains with the pupusa together as it added a nice contrasting flavor while having them together. Would definitely come back here for more sometime. read more

I finally caved after my long pupusa drought and wandered into VCHOS Pupuseria at Haven City. Grabbed their 2-for-$10 deal, went full spinach-core w a Spinach & Cheese and then its slightly meatier cousin, the Chicken, Spinach & Cheese. They handed me one of those little pagers that makes you feel like you're waiting for a table and a life update, but it buzzed in about 10 minutes, which is basically lightning during dinner rush. Both pupusas were incredible!! The masa was freshly made. The curtido was tangy, crunchy perfection.... like it showed up specifically to balance the meal. The salsa roja was mild, which I think is normal, but my spicy little heart wished it had a tiny kick. Overall, very happy w last night's dinner. read more

Came here on New Year's Eve, it wasnt too busy & ordering was simple through the kiosk We order the revuelta & birria pupusa ($20 total). Both pupusas had great cheese pull but I think the texture was a little too soft for my liking. The flavor was a bit light on the revuelta but had a nicer kick when adding the slaw, sauce, & onions We also waited a bit for our order sitting close by but when we went back to check on the order, it was done but never called out I think the value for the pupusa is a good price though read more

NON-EXISTENT/HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I tried to place an order but the ordering kiosk wasn't working. I informed the lady at the counter and she didn't acknowledge me. She completely ignored me and walked away. I stood at the counter for at least 5 mins, there were 3 ladies working, and not one said a word despite them coming to the front counter multiple times. Don't waste your time. read more

I seen a video on IG featuring their Pollo sandwich. It looked really good so I decided to order it. The restaurant is located in the West Covina Haven City Market. The chicken had okay flavor, it could have used more seasoning and it was a bit dry. The sandwich came with a side of Consome which kinda helped and I was definitely dipping every bite into the broth. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything on the torta that stood out to me - in fact, I feel like I spent $16 for a lot of chicken on bread. The torta is stuffed to the point where it's impossible to pick up and bite so I found myself ripping off pieces of bread and topping it with the chicken and Consome. It was garnished with Romain lettuce, thick pieces of radishes, tomato and a beet salad plus some cabbage. I wanted to love it but, I just couldn't get past the amount of $ I spent for chicken on bread. read more

Went to Haven City on a Thursday and had my eyes of trying this pupusas place, and it was a solid choice! I got the two pupusas option, which came with the slaw and their special salsa. The flavors I chose were pork and beans, and chicken, spinach and cheese. I really liked the pork beans, very hearty and flavorful. The chicken, spinach, and cheese was delicious as well, just think it lacked a bit more chicken they could have added. Slaw was decent, but I think I have had better at other pupusa vendors I tried in the past. Think I prefer it not being as tangy in my opinion. The salsa was pretty damn good though, and I'm not a big salsa guy. It really meshed well with the pupusas. Overall, I think the price was decent for the two pupusas option and I was satisfied with my meal. A vendor worth checking out in Haven City. read more

I had previously been to the Haven City Market (HCM) located in Rancho Cucamonga, but had not yet stepped foot into the West Covina location until Tuesday night. A few weeks ago, I did visit Local Coffee, which is located in-between HCM and GW Supermarket. HCM was quite busy Tuesday night but I was able to find a parking spot pretty close to the entrance. Food Halls are convenient because everyone can choose what they would like to eat, instead of having to have only one type of food at a restaurant. I love a good pupusa and after checking the Haven City Market (HCM) website before visiting, Vchos Pupuseria jumped out at me. I was already planning to visit HCM for another maker and planned to visit Vchos Pupuseria as well to grab a few pupusas. (from their menu) What is a pupusa? A hand crafted Salvadoran thick corn tortilla, stuffed with your choices below. Served with curtido and salsa. Curtido is a tangy, lightly fermented cabbage relish or slaw from El Salvador 2 Pupusas $10 Revueltas (Pork, Bean & Cheese) Chicken Spanish Cheese Vchos Pupuseria is located down the main entrance, to the left. After ordering, I was provided a pager to notify me when my order is ready for pick-up. Since it was Game 4 of the World Series (Blue Jays vs Dodgers), it was nice to have TVs on with the game showing so I could catch the game while I was waiting for my order. There were many people gathered also (with their food and drinks) to watch the game. It was nice to be in company with many others, rooting for the home team. It is a great place for friends and family, I saw people of many different ages gathered together. The vibe was great. The pupusas were delicious (crispy on the outside and melted cheese on the inside). The Revueltas was our favorite, with the Chicken Spinach Cheese a close second. The curtido, however, was extremely spicy! They went a bit too heavy with the black pepper so, unfortunately, I was unable to finish it all. The salsa was great, a great accompaniment to the pupusas. Service was great, and the food was delicious. The food was packed wonderfully. I will most definitely stop by again in the future. read more

This is located at West Covina's Haven City. The service was friendly. We got the bean and cheese pupusas and the shrimp potato tacos. It wasn't our favorite item that we tried at haven city but it was decently good. I've had better pupusas and potato tacos elsewhere so with many other interesting food options at haven city, it's a place that I would skip out on unless I am really craving pupusas. There was lots of seating available since it's basically in a large food court. Parking is difficult to find during peak times. Although the parking lot is big, there are other stores and businesses that share the lot with haven city. read more

Visited Vchos on a Saturday for lunch. I've tried most of the food offerings at Haven City and finally made my way to Vchos. I ordered two pupusas (pork/cheese/bean and chicken/spinach) and their loaded steak fries. The pupusas were great. Slightly crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. The salsa they provided was a great compliment. The loaded steak fries were the star for me. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender and the fries were crispy. I enjoyed the sauces they added, though I do wish there was more of that green sauce. The staff was friendly, though it did take about 15 minutes for my food to come out. As usual, Haven City can get busy depending on the time, but there's always plenty of seating available inside and outside. I do purposely go around 11:30 because the parking lot can get real crazy. read more

Vchos Pupuseria is located inside Haven City Market in West Covina. They were the first food vendor I ordered from and the last to deliver when I only got a tiny pupusa here. Staff was nice but the long wait was too annoying for me to consider coming back for. There was this lady who was lagging in front of me chatting up the cashier so I ordered from their kiosk. Thankfully too because the kiosk showed the option for a single order of pupusa. Their menu was showing 2 pupusa as an order. I got the Pork and Cheese Pupusa ($5) which came with the curtido cabbage slaw and some salsa. When I finallllyyyyy got the food, I'm not sure the wait was worth it. It was so cheese forward with barely any pork inside, unlike other pupuserias I've been to prior. Affordable to try but it's a small snack. I don't plan to come back. I'm glad I didn't get the 2 Pupusas option on their physical menu. read more

Vchos Pupuseria has a very delicious menu. Pupusas are one of the dishes they have in the menu. They also have Pollo, Chicharrón, plantain plates, platano empanadas, shrimp & potato tacos, steak fries, chicken pastelito, more. I ordered pupusas because it is one my favorite food. They have many pupusas filling to choose from. For this time, I chose Revuelta which is pork, bean, and cheese. They have this offer two pupusas for ten dollars which is convenient. The order came with curtido and salsa Roja. Curtido is Salvadoran cabbage slaw which add more flavor to the pupusas. The puousas was very flavorful and juicy.The service was fast compared to the line of customers they had. It's a great addition to Haven City Market. I will be back for sure even with chaotic parking. read more

Located in Haven City Market, Vchos Pupuseria offers delicious, crispy, and filling pupusas. You can place your order using the kiosk or with the cashier. Your order will be ready in about 15 minutes, so it's easy to explore the other food stalls. The Pork, Cheese, & Beans and Chicken, Spinach, & Cheese pupusas were delicious with the side of curtido and tomato salsa. The only downside is that each pupusa is a little pricey at $5 each. read more

The food here was good. However, it took 20+ minutes for it to come out. I could understand if it was busy, but it wasn't. People who ordered after me were getting their food before me, boxes of food, when I only had one. It took way too long and I was originally told 15 minutes. The employee did not really seem to care at all but as for the woman in the back making the food, I wish I could shake her hand because it really was good. read more

I don't know much about Salvadoran food, and pupusas are to blame. Whenever pupusas are on the menu, I can't seem to order anything else. VChos Pupuseria has plaintain and pollo plates, and someday I'll be able to tell you about them. All I can say for now is the pupusas are perfecta. Including the traditional bean & cheese, they have 10 varieties of fillings including chicken, pork, and even a vegan one. Price point is reasonable at 2 for $10. Though made of corn, the pupusas here are smooth and not mealy like some places. A generous portion of tasteful cabbage slaw rounds out the meal. Curious about the vegan one? Vegan cheese doesn't get gooey like dairy cheese so it wasn't as fun. If I were strictly vegan though, I'd probably be happy. I've got my eye on other menu items at VChos, but I may never have room for them in my life. Guess you can say pupusas got me whipped. read more

I was curious about the biz name Vchos Pupuseria. What type of cuisine is it? I had to look it up. A pupusa is a thick griddle cake or flatbread originated from El Salvador. It is usually stuffed with one or more ingredients, which may include cheese, chicken, pork, shrimp, refried beans, etc. It is accompanied by cabbage slaw and tomato salsa. Upon arrival to the front counter area, I started ordering via kiosk, but then I had questions. This was my first time trying pupusas. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and nice. He said he could take my order for me. Thank you Sir! I asked for his favorite. He said the chicken pupusa. Of course, I got the chicken, but I also wanted to try a couple more different ones. I got shrimp and pork revuelta, too. Out of the 3 pupusas, I did enjoy the chicken best. Its flavor superceded the other two pupusas. I think it was the seasoning of the chicken that made it tasty. I didn't find the shrimp and pork revuelta to have much flavor. The cole slaw and tomato salsa that came with the pupusas were okay. I'll probably stick with the chicken pupusa should I dine here again. Thank you! read more

We stood in front of the stand for about ten minutes being ignored by the staff & once we ordered it took about 20 min to get our food. Flavor wise was good but the chicharrones & yucca plate and the pupusas were overly oily & on the menu it said "fried or steamed," but they didn't offer the options to us while ordering. There are plenty of options in Haven Plaza so we'll opt for something else next time. read more

Another spot at the newly opened Haven City! This place overall is definitely poppin but a lot of booths close early (around 8) so we were lucky that Vchos closes a bit later! They have a contactless ordering system so it was easy / quick to order. I got the shrimp and revuelta and tldr, the highlight was the curtido side (fermented cabbage)! The shrimp didn't really make an appearance imo and I paid extra for it - it tasted more like cold cheese. The revuelta was definitely the better of the two: nice and cheesy with good seasoning. By themselves, the pupusas were mid but they were definitely elevated with the spicy curtido! It was a refreshing crunch on the side and the salsa added some nice texture as well. I think I would skip this place next time. There is also a pupusa place right outside this hall that sells each pupusa for cheaper. read more

I got their 2 pupusas for $10 on their kiosk. I chose their ruevueltas which is pork, beans, and cheese filled along with a pork and bean pupusa. They gave me a beeper to be able to pick up my order. It was loud inside the food court so the beeper was a good idea. The wait was not long, the pupusas were a good size with plenty of filling. They came with a small container of curtido and salsa. The salsa was thicker than other Salvadorean places I've tried. The staff is nice, parking can get packed. read more

Pupusas were the main reason we came to Haven City Market. Puspsas are 2/$10. I got the revuelta and chicken, spinach and cheese. My friend got bean and cheese. These are bigger than most places and these are the best I've had in SGV. Even the Curtido and salsa are better than most! The salsa was thick, not watery/soupy. Eat them while hot! The cheese pull on these! The best out of my two was the revuelta. The beans and cheese made it! I think next time I'll just get the revuelta and bean and cheese. The chicken was not my fave. I wish they can customize it. I would like to see chicken, bean and cheese. I'd like to go back and try the yuca con chicharron, but at $17... oh my. Maybe if somebody shared with me! read more

Okay! So, look! The steak was cooked nicely. Didn't taste like ribeye tho. The sauces are good. However, the fries could be cooked a bit longer for a crunchy outer layer and a soft inside. I didn't hate these fries, but would I order them again? No. They were missing an umph! Onion? Something spicy? I mean I get it. Salvadorans don't do spicy, but this is fusion (like it or not). Carne asada fries are a Mexican classic nowadays. Bring in the salsa plllllsssss! OR! Maybe change it up with like a chopped up pupusa on top? With curtido onnnnnn dattttt thannng too!? The only pupusa place in this area. Surprisingly very good as well. I mean, what's not too like about fried dough? Filling was pretty good as well. The sauces, not too spicy and pretty flavorful. I don't like that I have to buy a set of pupusas but it is what it is. It's kinda expensive for what it is, but I get it, the overhead to have a restaurant in this area must be expensive. Changing from 4 to 5 stars cause it actually was good lol. read more

Very delicious pupusas! Living in LA, I've had my share of pupusas and actually really enjoyed these. I got the loroco and cheese with jalapeño pieces inside. Very good! It did take a bit to get the order as it would if you went to any pupusa place. I would suggest ordering pupusas first before ordering other food if you spray know you're going to want some pupusas. Parking was easy for us on a weekday, but I heard that weekends can get busy. read more

Located inside New Haven so there are tons of options. Being Salvadoran, I had to try some. We got 2 revueltas. Nice large portions. Made on the spot. Good flavor and good masa to inside deliciousness ratio. Curtido and salsa were also on point. $10 for 2. Considering location and taste, price works. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is usually bad in the shopping center but we came at a good time so found parking right away and seating. Super busy and family friendly environment. Would come again. read more
