Rather than tell me that, they rendered services and I got hit with a big bill! Yes it's the patients responsibility to know in and out of network, but if i didn't know something changed, why would I ask? They knew and didn't say anything! Wouldn't it have been better to tell me "we no longer take your insurance and if you proceed it's out of network"???? I think so. They said they have so many patients they don't have time to do that! We'll they don't need any more business. So if you're looking for a dentist, look somewhere else!

My parents made sure I went regularly, but my teeth were always in pretty good shape, even if my attention to their care was less than diligent. I didn't get a cavity until I was well into middle age. I didn't like going to the dentist, but it didn't fill me with horror, like it did some of my peers. As I've gotten older, though, these trips to the dentist, or dental surgeons, became more problematic. My teeth became more sensitive (I've had to switch from regular toothpaste to Sensodyne...the toothpaste for old codgers with enamel deprived teeth). About 10 years ago, I had to go to a dental surgeon to have impacted wisdom teeth removed. I was put to "sleep," but awoke to the dental surgeon wrenching away at the impacted tooth like a miner digging for a vein of impacted gold ore. Still, once the ordeal was over, it was over, and I got a script for Vicodin out of it so...all's well that ends well! As far as "regular" dentist visits, my last one was several years ago. During that "several years ago" visit, there was acute pain. There were several points during that ordeal where I almost came up involuntarily out of my chair because of it (I couldn't help but envision the scene from "Marathon Man" where Laurence Olivier leans over Dustin Hoffman, writhing in agony in the dentist's chair, his sharp dental pick poised above Dustin's abused gums, asking with sinister calm, "Is it safe?"). I'm not an idiot about dental care. I brush regularly, floss semi-regularly, and have hoped my genetic inheritance of "good teeth" will last until they bury (or burn) me with them. Still, the daily "several cups of coffee" and the chronic "sweet tooth" have left their indelible mark, and I recognized that at some point I was going to have to "man up" and make that appointment. My hand was forced when a few weeks ago I broke off a piece of tooth biting down on a plastic fork (don't ask...). It didn't hurt, but procrastination was no longer a viable option. I made the appointment. Same office, different personnel at the front desk. Which was a good thing; the last time I was here, the receptionist was a bit of a jerk. The people working there now are efficient, friendly. I filled out the necessary paperwork, although there was some question about how much my insurance would cover. I started bracing myself for a harder time to come than I had hoped for. The dental hygienist took me to the room where they were going to clean my teeth. A lady entered the room as they were strapping me down (just kidding), indicating there was some confusion as to whether I was "covered" for the fixing of my chipped tooth, and I could feel myself tensing up even more (not kidding). She mentioned a "silver" cap instead of a "white" one as a possibility. I'm not vain, but the silver front tooth look is not for me, and I figured I'd live with the chipped tooth if I had to, even if it made me look more like an inbred hillbilly than the sophisticated suburbanite I sometimes like to pretend I am. I mentioned (as I had when I made the appointment) the tough time I had had my last visit, and asked for a shot of novocaine, or "happy gas," or Percocet, or heroin, or...whatever. The hygienist told me they could put some "topical gel" on my gums, but...well...it had been several years, and the reality was there might be some discomfort in the attempt to restore my choppers to their pristine beauty. She applied the gel, and told me to raise my left hand if things got too intense. They didn't. I could feel the pressure as she scraped at my teeth and dug around in my gums, with momentary spots of some pain, but nothing like what I went through previously. And there wasn't too much blood when I had to swish water around in my mouth and spit out into that ceramic "spitoon" they keep by the side of the chair. She wanted to sign me up for another visit in 6 months, but I declined. Six months seems a very short time. Dr. Kuitems, pleasant and professional, examined the work, declared it sound, and then...after some minutes had passed...put the cap (white, not silver) onto my chipped tooth. Took about 5 minutes. I guess whatever questions there were about my insurance coverage had been resolved. So, all in all, it worked out very well-- my teeth are clean and capped, my pain was minimal, and my co-pay didn't break the bank. (Later, my oldest friend, who IS diligent about his dental health, called me to see how it had gone. When I mentioned my reluctance to commit myself to another appointment in 6 months, he replied, "Do you realize that your dental health can be connected to heart attacks if you let it go? Also, it's hard to eat if you have no teeth. What's the big deal about making an appointment for 6 months from now? Do you think it's like going for a manicure?" I laughed, but he might be right.)

It honestly wasn't really bothering me and I hadn't noticed a problem. He insisted that it was catching food and today he remade it for free. You just don't see that level of integrity very often. If the rating was only for their customer service I would give it a negative (unfortunately 1 star is lowest). However, Dr. Dmitry Kucher, seems to care about his patients and conviction with providing dental care - if the rating was solely based on Dr. Dimtry's dental care (excluding customer service) then I would be happy to give this a higher rating. However, my rating and review is low because of this terrible customer service experience. If this receptionist stays employed then I would never recommend anyone dealing with her. We've are not going back - tons of other dental practices in the area who treat you like a human being. Background: Billing and service dispute as a new patient. Worst ever, phone receptionist intentionally hung up on me when I called about my billing inquiry and rudely interrupted me several times, threatened to call police on me if I showed up in the office, insulted my competency and asked if I know anything about medical industry's standard practice of care. I only needed a cleaning and was trying to find something convenient and local. My insurance covers two free cleanings a year. Detail: When I first called for a new appointment, I explicitly informed the receptionist for a cleaning only (no interest in anything else). However, after going in for the cleaning, they billed me for both a cleaning and a comprehensive oral exam. I called to understand and to ultimately dispute the billing (for the oral exam). But the receptionist who picked up the phone was extremely defensive. I told her this is not what I asked for when I made the appointment. She said its 'standard of care practice' to provide oral exam for new patients. I was very explicit when I first called to make the appointment that I'm only interested in cleaning. She did not explicitly mention that new patient require oral exams. I told her, she should have been more transparent about their policy (nothing on their website, nor did they mention all new patients require an oral exam).The receptionist then got very defensive and told me she was going to hang-up on me. I told them if they hang-up I would go to their office to speak to them directly because I still didn't finish speaking. She said she would threaten to call the police on me if I showed up. I only wanted to go in and speak to someone in person since the receptionist has no interest or care about what I was saying. She abruptly hung-up. I called back a second time telling her to cancel my other appointment (scheduled for my spouse) - she continued to interrupt me... I ended up going into the office and spoke with Dr. Dmitry Kucher - good guy and explained the situation. He was understanding and apologized for his employee's behavior (mentions she has a very short fuse - guess she treats all his customers/patience like this). Extremely disappointed and never been threatened by anyone to have police called - especially an inquiry regarding an incidental billing charge. Overall: would never recommend this receptionist/customer service. Although Dr. Dmitry seems to be competent, he still needs to be more transparent about pricing and much better job at hiring quality employees.

From the moment I walked in, the entire team was warm and welcoming. Dr. Shon was attentive, friendly, and took the time to carefully review my documents. During my cleaning and fluoride treatment, he was gentle--this was the first time I left a cleaning without soreness. A major plus was how thoroughly he explained my X‑rays, showing each image on the screen and pointing out what to watch for. The hygienist was equally wonderful, attentive, and kind. The hygienist, Spencer, seemed inexperienced--water was spraying everywhere, and everything moved at a snail's pace. The equipment was outdated; the x-ray machine looked like it belonged in a museum. What was most frustrating was that instead of using the time to finish the job, Spencer spent 15 minutes explaining why he couldn't complete the cleaning. To top it off, you won't even see the actual dentist unless Spencer can't handle something, and when he tries to explain things, it's confusing and unclear. Overall, a very disappointing and unprofessional experience. Front desk unprofessional, play phones, and won't check your insurance properly at all. We knew eventually we would need to have a veneer or crown placed on her tooth but since she is only 8 we weren't ready for that step. I expressed how my daughter puts on a strong face and pretends not to mind when classmates and friends ask her why her front tooth is yellow... Everytime I would hear this conversation it would break my heart... wondering if it would effect her self esteem and scar her emotionally and not just physically. Without even hesitating Dr Krosser told me to bring her in the following morning and he would do his best to correct the color in the least invasive way possible. Dr Krosser was telling me to bring her in on a Wednesday morning.... his office is closed on Wednesday mornings! He was willing to put his personal life aside and help mine... Of course I didn't take him up on scheduling on a deserved day off, but we did schedule at our earliest convenience. Dr Krosser not only improved the apprearancce of my daughters smile, he did it in a very comfortable environment & painless procedure. My daughter & I are very pleased with her smile! I never realized how much a simple procedure would boost her confidence. A big thank you to Dr Krosser and his wonderful staff for making your patients needs your priority!
