I'm incredibly grateful for the care my cat received at SAVES…read more I brought my cat from another emergency practice in Tennessee that was closing overnight, as I felt he needed monitoring at a 24-hour hospital due to a urinary obstruction. I called ahead, confirmed that his records had been sent, and when I arrived, they were already expecting us. I spoke with the doctor right away (Dr. Wedig), who clearly explained the treatment options and the need for hospitalization and extended catheter placement. I was extremely distraught at the time, and the entire team met that energy with compassion and calm reassurance. I also shared my concern about avoiding opioid sedatives due to a suspected link to the obstruction, and they were very open and respectful of that discussion. During his two-and-a-half-day hospitalization, I received daily calls from the doctor. When I called for updates myself, I was always able to get timely and helpful information. My cat was released promptly once appropriate, and I'm deeply thankful for the care that helped him recover. I hope I won't need emergency care again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to return here.

When I arrived I told the intake desk we needed to see a neurologist. The intake person literally wrote some notes on their hand and took my dog through a door and told me wait in the lobby. After 2 hours of no communication, I was moved to a room where a Dr. was supposed to come and tell me what was going on. After 45 minutes of waiting for the doctor, to come talk to me I went back to the front desk to ask what was happening. After another 45 minutes they put me back in the office and a Dr. finally showed up only to tell me that the neurology department is not 24/7, and that there were no neurologists on sight and that we would not be able to get an MRI, and that neither the front desk staff nor the ER Doctors could set up an appointment for my dog to see a neurologist or get an MRI the next day; They told me I could have my dog spend the night there for $1000 and MAYBE we could see a neurologist the next day and maybe get an MRI but they couldn't guarantee it. I TOLD THE INTAKE DESK WHEN I ARRIVED that the dog's issue was neurological. After 4 hours of zero care, the dr. told me there was nothing they could. The ER Dr. told me there is something wrong with his larnyx and that was contributing somehow to his hind leg problem. They provided no resources for how to care for a dog whose hind legs were no longer working and actually claimed that he WAS able to walk even though every time he walked a few inches he collapsed to the ground.. and that there is no treatment for his issue. Bottom line, he arrived unable to walk and left unable to walk. His hind legs are no longer functioning, and I had to take him back home. DO NOT take your pet to this ER! Truly horrible and traumatic experience all the way around.

Within an 8-hour period she went from walking around on her leash to being paralyzed, full of Diazepam and phenobarbital, organs shutting down. I brought her home where she died. I laid with her for a day and a half watching her suffer until her heart finally stopped.. I had this baby for 12 years and she was taken away much too soon..BE CAREFUL WHO YOU LEAVE YOUR FUR BABIES WITH! The Vet will not talk to me will not give me any answers to any of my questions leaving me full of grief, and regret that I ever took her there. The autopsy report showed that she had no disease of any kind anywhere other than arthritis certainly not a brain tumor!!

And set a new date for me to bring him in for all of those things to be done at the same time. Which was only five days later than the appointment I had already made to me, that means that the staff there were actually looking at all of their records, And found that they could save me money by waiting five more days. This is nothing more than excellent. I will for always have nothing but great respect and love for these folks. I recommend this Banfield to anybody that has a pet!

I was worried about letting a stranger come into our house, but from the moment we spoke it never felt that way. She came over for a free consultation, so she could meet Willow and we could meet her. They were both taken with each other right away and she was very gentle and patient with Willow (even though she was a bit excited to meet a new person). Hope has been an absolute dream to work with. Although my boyfriend's schedule is stable, mine sometimes has a few changes that pop up. Hope is always very quick to respond to my walking requests and very flexible. She always leaves me a detailed message about Willow's walks, along with pictures! And I also want to add that getting used to owning a 45 pound dog who came from questionable circumstances was a little bit of a challenge at first. I recently asked for a quote to do a dental for one of my dogs and the quote was over $1000 and any extractions would be additional. I felt this was outrageous and was given some advice to call the Animal Hospital of Marion where I got a worse case scenario quote of $518. I took my dog for an initial exam that cost me $38 and returned a few days later so he could have his dental. He is an older dog and had (3) difficult extractions. The total for his dental was $360!!!! That's right! $360.00. This included an ECG, bloodwork, (3) difficult extractions, dental, pain shot, antibiotics and pain meds. Animal Hospital South was going to charge me $330 for the bloodwork alone! Going to the Animal Hospital of Marion saved me over $700!!! Animal Hospital South should be ashamed of themselves for charging outrageous pricing such as this. Every pet owner wants to take care of their pets but when vets charge insane prices it makes it unattainable for most - this is GREED at it's absolute worst!

Everyone at this establishment is incredibly caring, kind, knowledgeable AND amazing at what they do. Not only do they provide exceptional care of your pet they also take care of the human too. Thank you for taking such good care of my little sweet potato. Sweet potato was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition with significant internal bleeding post spay procedure at my regular vet. It was incredibly sudden and terrifying. The veterinarians here put my mind and heart at ease: they triaged as soon as you walk in, and provided the best possible care over the two days my sweet potato was in the hospital. Dr. Novak and Dr. Bentley and everyone on their teams took amazing care of sweet potato the entire time she was at the hospital. They showed her love and care throughout the time she was there. The doctors monitored her the entire time and kept me up to date on the internal bleeding. They did everything they could to see if they did not need to perform exploratory surgery, but in the end, they decided it was necessary and unavoidable to correct the situation. Dr. Novak performed an emergency surgery yesterday to correct a spay procedure that caused significant internal bleeding. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Novak for saving sweet potato's life. I am blown away by the incredible quality of care at Veterinary Emergency Group. They not only provide exceptional care, they also really care about animals and you can feel that. Their love for animals is clear and their compassion obvious. They also have an incredible ability to stay calm in emergency situations. I just wish this could be my regular vet too! not just a place I can trust for emergencies VEG deserves 10 stars read more

I have written this review several times in the last couple of weeks and it continues to be taken down. Here we go again....and I will continue everyday! My daughter was out of town and left her cat in the care of a cat sitter. He visited twice a day, fed her and made sure she had water and visited with her. He came in on Saturday morning and couldn't find her. She had gotten out of the cat door, made it to the street and was walking down the street when the postman saw her, picked her up and asked a neighbor to take her to the nearest vet, VEG. She took our cat, Muffey, to VEG and told them that if after posting her picture, the owner didn't turn up, she - our neighbor - would adopt her. A couple of hours later, our cat sitter saw her picture posted and called VEG. He told them he would be right over to pick her up. They said he couldn't pick her up, the owner had to pick her up. So, he called my daughter immediately and she called to say the cat sitter could pick her up. Unfortunately, they had already euthanized our cat. They didn't wait to try to find the owner nor did they call our neighbor to tell her she could pick Muffey up since they had not found the owner. Our family was crushed. My daughter has a five year old who loved her "sister" and of course, did not understand. If you find a stray or consider taking your animal to the Veterinary Emergency Group on Hendersonville Road - don't. I really don't know how to say enough for the wonderful people here! I've never been to any emergency hospital for animals that was run the way this is with people working there with the hearts that these people have! I took my dog in, not knowing if she would live. Very very sick and very dehydrated. God used every one of these knowledgeable, kind, incredible people to not only help her, but also help me. They don't take your animal out of your sight. You can stay with them the whole time in a large area with comfortable and spacious places to sit. I think three or four different people offered to give us a private room with a couch where I could sleep when they found out I had been awake for over 30 hours. It ended up being over 40 and I was exhausted. After they had worked with my sweet girl for over 12 hours, we were able to sleep on the couch together and they came in every few minutes to take her vitals. They even asked if I needed the fan turned on. I was exhausted, and I can't remember everyone's names or the spellings, but I would like to list all the names of my nurses there. The names of my incredible nurses, that I remember are Cathy, Martin, Elyse, and Jenn! The doctors are top notch! THANK YOU!!! Our puppy Snoopy was hit by a car 2 days ago. and We called countless numbers of vets offices/emergency clinics from Canton to Edneyville trying to find someone who would be willing to work with us because of our financial bind. VEG is the only place I will ever recommend. I can tell they truly care about our baby. When we pulled in they were right there to take him out of the car and straight to a table for exams. They were thorough and quick and gentle, and they let me be right there next to him the whole time. Snoopy is currently under observation, being given fluids and medicine to see if he can make a recovery from his TBI. But I couldn't wait another minute to give this establishment a 5 star review. I can truly tell they care about my Snoopy, and for me too. There were about 4 other animals that were brought in during our time there last night. We witnessed each sick baby immediately get taken to their own area to be examined and taken care of or made comfortable. The staff truly care and that makes all the difference for me. We recently found ourselves in need of emergency vet services in the middle of the night with an out of the ordinary stalled labor & delivery of our one of our expectant females in our breeding program. The entire staff was friendly & professional throughout our entire time & care at VEG, Asheville. Drs Bentley & E were great to work with! They acknowledged that I was veteran breeder, and understood this was not my first rodeo. Nick, Amy, & Kristy rounded out the entire team that came alongside me and my dog to assist in the best possible outcome for her care & her pups during our time at VEG. One of the MOST important aspects of VEG is that you are allowed to stay with your pet during their care. For a breeder this was the up most importance, for me to keep my eyes on my dog and how she was or was not progressing during her labor and that I was still able to whelp her pups myself. Saved my cat's life! Everyone who works there is beyond friendly and caring. They all clearly love their jobs and animals. My kitty received efficient quality care with love and compassion. It's also an open layout, so I was able to be there for practically every part of his treatment which made me feel like I was more involved in his care. Thank God for VEG! Just moved to the area and our poodle had a terrible accident breaking her leg. VEG was amazing at a time when we were a mess. Took us in right away, assessed the situation, gave pain meds within a few minutes, all while comforting us! We were part of the process the whole time while getting our dog's leg stabilized. They were able to provide meds until we could get her to an orthopedic surgeon. There are no words to say how grateful we are that they were there for us in our time of need. Just left the perfect veterinary experience! The folks at VEG are the most professional, compassionate, patient, and caring people I have come across. From the moment I called to the moment we walked out the door we were treated like family. Jamie and Dr Ashe were amazing with my sweet, scared dog. They were patient and gentle as they examined her and make a care plan for her. Dr Ashe explained everything and Jamie reviewed it again before we left. They euthanized my beloved cat without my permission and without a satisfactory explanation or apology. 'Don't worry, we won't charge you for it.' That is their entire private venture capital investment ethos. They are amoral numbskulls and better suited to make license plates. Second time needing to take an animal to this emergency vet and again they were phenomenal. Took extra precautions because my dog is dog reactive and did NOT like the male doctor. Were able to get me a female duo that did the trick. They were calm and patient with him. I spoke with the doctor right away (Dr. Wedig), who clearly explained the treatment options and the need for hospitalization and extended catheter placement. I was extremely distraught at the time, and the entire team met that energy with compassion and calm reassurance. I also shared my concern about avoiding opioid sedatives due to a suspected link to the obstruction, and they were very open and respectful of that discussion. During his two-and-a-half-day hospitalization, I received daily calls from the doctor. When I called for updates myself, I was always able to get timely and helpful information. My cat was released promptly once appropriate, and I'm deeply thankful for the care that helped him recover. I hope I won't need emergency care again, but if I do, I would not hesitate to return here.

When I arrived I told the intake desk we needed to see a neurologist. The intake person literally wrote some notes on their hand and took my dog through a door and told me wait in the lobby. After 2 hours of no communication, I was moved to a room where a Dr. was supposed to come and tell me what was going on. After 45 minutes of waiting for the doctor, to come talk to me I went back to the front desk to ask what was happening. After another 45 minutes they put me back in the office and a Dr. finally showed up only to tell me that the neurology department is not 24/7, and that there were no neurologists on sight and that we would not be able to get an MRI, and that neither the front desk staff nor the ER Doctors could set up an appointment for my dog to see a neurologist or get an MRI the next day; They told me I could have my dog spend the night there for $1000 and MAYBE we could see a neurologist the next day and maybe get an MRI but they couldn't guarantee it. I TOLD THE INTAKE DESK WHEN I ARRIVED that the dog's issue was neurological. After 4 hours of zero care, the dr. told me there was nothing they could. The ER Dr. told me there is something wrong with his larnyx and that was contributing somehow to his hind leg problem. They provided no resources for how to care for a dog whose hind legs were no longer working and actually claimed that he WAS able to walk even though every time he walked a few inches he collapsed to the ground.. and that there is no treatment for his issue. Bottom line, he arrived unable to walk and left unable to walk. His hind legs are no longer functioning, and I had to take him back home. DO NOT take your pet to this ER! Truly horrible and traumatic experience all the way around.

I recently asked for a quote to do a dental for one of my dogs and the quote was over $1000 and any extractions would be additional. I felt this was outrageous and was given some advice to call the Animal Hospital of Marion where I got a worse case scenario quote of $518. I took my dog for an initial exam that cost me $38 and returned a few days later so he could have his dental. He is an older dog and had (3) difficult extractions. The total for his dental was $360!!!! That's right! $360.00. This included an ECG, bloodwork, (3) difficult extractions, dental, pain shot, antibiotics and pain meds. Animal Hospital South was going to charge me $330 for the bloodwork alone! Going to the Animal Hospital of Marion saved me over $700!!! Animal Hospital South should be ashamed of themselves for charging outrageous pricing such as this. Every pet owner wants to take care of their pets but when vets charge insane prices it makes it unattainable for most - this is GREED at it's absolute worst!

An "Open door" of whoever the hell is available that day, and who knows if they will care for your animal or not. Completely disorganized and unprofessional. Constant rotation of staff, they never remember you or your animal, you are completely rushed in and rushed out, and they are extremely forgetful to call you back with test results or vital information. We took our sick dog here a few times along with 3 cats over a span of 2 years. One of the times they literally LOST her stool sample so we had to go and bring them another one. Twice. How do you lose a stool sample?? Anyway, Our dog had ongoing serious medical issues that they NEVER addressed so we ended up taking her elsewhere. They'd say they'd call with important results and would forget every time. You shouldn't have to chase after a vet to give you vital information for the livelihood of your animal. They also would act bothered and inconvenienced by us calling them after a week of eagerly waiting for a call. She ended up having serious medical problems that never were able to get treated, literally because they failed to do proper tests and do their job in an effective, caring way. Another one of my experiences was taking my cat for a checkup since she was a stray, the assistant was scared of cats, refused to weigh my cat, and even said "i'm kind of grossed out by them". So, why is she working if she can't be around certain animals?? And also, it was totally unprofessional and rude. Didn't make me feel safe having my cat around her if she couldn't even go near them. Ever since then we've never ever been back. Spare yourself and avoid this clinic.... they are not compassionate, considerate or organized.
