We were surprised by how spacious it was inside when we walked in. But what was truly impressive was the enormous display area that included so many ice creams that an additional freezer was needed behind the counter to hold the rest of the flavors. We explained that it was our first time visiting, so the employee encouraged us to try some samples to see what we liked. He also shared that the Vanilla Biscoff was his favorite. As we tried a few flavors, I saw a sign for ice cream flights that included four kid-sized scoops for just $10!! I eventually decided on the Vanilla Biscoff, Cookies & Cream, Cake Batter Brownie, and Peanut Butter Cookie Dough. All of it was fantastic! My friend and I both agreed that the Vanilla Biscoff was our favorite, so we returned the next night to get waffle bowls! This is such a gem of a local ice cream shop, and I will prioritize a visit when I return on my next trip!

There are also a few tables out in the front to sit at after getting your custard / ice cream. The inside of the shop is small and can get very packed and busy in side. They have a freezer selection that is stocked with flavors of the day or different types of custards depending on availability. Near the register there is also another freezer that has the ice cream sandwiches and other treats. I like Whit's because they do a rotating flavor of the day, a flavor of the week, and flavor of the month. They have a calendar of flavors on their website and socials. (i.e. Facebook or Insta) The menu is pretty expansive offering sundaes, to whitsers, and other such creations. The real star of the show is the custard. It is very creamy and pretty sweet. It is definitely one of my favorite ice cream shops in the Triangle. I haven't had any bad experiences coming here per say but sometimes the young cashiers at the front can seem a bit ignorant and stare you down when it comes to tipping. Outside of that, a good experience and good custard.
