I usually don't like tapioca pearls so its great that they have the popper pearls! But even the tapioca pearls here taste better than other places. I know you close at 9 PM, but to lie to a customer who walks in five minutes before closing is still not OK! I was told ALL of the yogurt machines were EMPTY as ALL yogurt was sold out. Oh yeah? Then why was your open sign in the window still on, why were you just in the process of packing away the toppings? And, why were the doors still unlocked? You don't sell anything else so there is no reason for anyone to come into the store unless they were getting frozen yogurt. I had to listen to the lame excuse that the doors can only be locked from the outside so you could not have locked them. Seriously? I feel sorry for people working there as that is no doubt a security risk. I probably wouldn't be happy if you had told me five minutes before closing that you had already shut everything off, but I would have been more understanding than being lied to. That's not OK. A favourite haunt of Frozy O'Donnell and Frozy McGowan. I found Frozy to be pretty average Bubble Tea but not awful. It was part of my 4-for-1 bubble tea evening, in which I tried 4 different black milk teas from 4 different Durham bubbleries. This was the 3rd of the 4, with teenage girls hanging out inside, and I remember they had the green and white lantern. They sell a lot of fro yo here, but I came for the Black Milk Tea. The bubble tea was cheap and the service was friendly. I didn't finish it or drink much, but that's what you get when you order 4 bubble teas in the space of an hour. It certainly wasn't awful. My friends and I visited NC and stopped by this store because it was by the highway. First i didn't want to go in because the rating of this place is too low but we decided to give it a try because it was the closest place we could find for bubble tea. The place is actually a yogurt place but we wanted bubble tea. The inside is very young and modern. I was kinda skeptical about the bubble tea in the south LOL, but it was actually really good and similar to what we had on the west coast. My first impression of the place was that it was really modern... cool seats and lights, making a really bright and happy atmosphere. That's about all of the good stuff I have to say about the place. We walked into the store, and there was no worker in sight. We had to wait a few minutes before she walked out from the back, where everything is made. Hmm another something sketchy - smoothies and bubble tea are all made in the back, so customers can't see what ingredients are going into the drinks and how they are made. Didn't like that one bit. I got the watermelon bubble tea, and my sister got the strawberry bubble tea. I assumed that by getting these fruity flavors, there was no doubt that the drink would be made with powder, so there wouldn't be a high chance that they could screw something like that up - boy was I wrong. I specifically asked for less sugar in my tea, but when I actually tried my drink, even a small sip tasted like I was just drinking liquid sugar. I had to wait until I got home to pour water into my cup before I could take more than a couple tiny sips. I also couldn't taste any watermelon flavor! I tried some of my sister's drink as well, and her strawberry bubble tea tasted pretty much identical to my watermelon one. It's strange that two different flavors taste exactly the same, isn't it... In addition, the bubbles... they were pretty much raw! The middle of the bubbles were all so hard. They definitely were undercooked. I definitely won't be going back here for the bubble tea. My friends tried the Passion fruit bubble tea and almond milk tea and they seem to both really enjoy it, as well. It was delicious! Super friendly staff, but a little inexperienced. Last time we came, our fruit tea was delicious! This time, we tried something new and I believe a junior employee must have made our drinks. First, we were handed someone else's online order (they didn't ask for a name or confirmation number, just handed us some drinks because we said we ordered online). When we eventually received our own, my friend's yogurt smoothie was warmish and my slushy coconut milk tea tasted... like milk! Just milk. Like drinking iced milk with no flavoring. I went back again and while I was waiting for them to remake it watched another patron who ordered after me return their drink because they hadn't included any of their ordered add-ons. Another customer came and left because there was nobody to cover the front register, everyone was in the back room. After a long time I received my drink again... and it still tasted like ice milk. This place I kinda had higher expectations because of the great reviews and I really had high expectations of the Halo-Halo. The boba drinks (~$`4) were good and I had not issues with and my friends very much enjoyed them. The Halo-Halo (~$5-6) was kind of disappointing as it was a lot smaller than I expected and didn't have as much of a flavor explosion as I'm used to when having the dessert. It was overly sweet in my opinion and just did not deliver. I'm used to leche flan and the subtle flavor of the ube ice cream complementing each other but this time the ube ice cream was overly sweet and overpowered the rest of the drink.
