Spectacular Experience/Highly recommended Doug and Doug Jr. were absolutely great. The ride is amazing and serene. Watching the sun come up from 10K feet up is an amazing experience. Also these guys have a combined like sixty years of experience, and the whole thing is a lot safer than you might think, a hot air balloon can withstand a ten foot hole and if they were to lose heat/fire the whole thing just becomes a parachute. read more

Set my wife up for a sunset balloon experience since I was going to be out of town, so this review is based on her experience. The first date I set her up about a month ago with was cancelled due to highwinds, but we easily reschedule again when I was going to be gone again. Communication and updates are very good, and they provide transportation to the Pahrump NV area when they launch in the early morning which is a real advantage since the departure time is early morning. She had a great time on this tour and said the staff was extremely friendly and the ballon pilot was wonderful. The price is also pretty reasonable compared to other experiences in the Las Vegas area that she has experienced. We cannot say enough about this experience. Two words: must do. We had great communication leading up to the experience + as promised by the evening before we knew if the flight was a go. We were picked up at our hotel (in hindsight we could have done an Uber but we were content with the convenience). Our flight was a total of 55 minutes and it didn't even matter how cold we were (definitely should have dressed warmer -- April in Vegas, who knew?!) Jeff and his crew are professional, hard working and very friendly. Watching them get the balloon ready for flight is an awesome sight. The feeling and "quiet" once air born is so surreal. Jeff is not only very knowledgeable about ballooning but he tells you stories of the migration of the animals in the area. I would highly recommend them. I love adventure, and this was a first for me. Nothing really scares me, I love the thrill of it. This was an unbelievable experience and so much fun. Yes, you do have to meet at the office at 4am, shoot for getting there around 4:15am since chances are everyone will get there a little later. My friend and I got there way too early like 3:45am and no one was there except JJ who didn't hear us knocking at the door at first. We thought no one was there but he came out surprised to see us there, and thank goodness the boss was on the way at 3:55am. I'm so glad I did this, when you're in Vegas, you meet so many different people. We had a Canadian couple, an Indian family, local bar owners, and us in separate sections in a basket distributed by weight. I learned a lot about hot air ballooning the wind has to blow one direction in order for the ballon to inflate, if the wind continues to change direction multiple times, it will not be a good ride and they will have to cancel. I also recommend booking through their official website and not any third party sites that offer a discount because if the company has to cancel the ride you will not get your money back if you booked with Groupon or Trip Advisor. Lastly, I've never had a company want to interact with their customer's the way this company did. The car ride in the morning felt like we were all going on a family vacation together, haha. Then, after being in the air and landing in the middle of nowhere with a few dirt roads we celebrated with champagne. Sure you have to wait until everything is packed and loaded, but it's only a long wait if you don't interact with other people. I really enjoyed talking to everyone from the crew to our Canadian friends. They gave us the option to go back in different vans, one van would head back to Las Vegas and the other would stop at a pub to keep the party going that was owned by the bar owners in our balloon ride. Our pilot Jeff, bought us one round, then the bar owners another round, and then our Canadian friends another round, yooooo what a vibe man. PS. When we were researching activities in Las Vegas, my friend suggested a sunrise hot air balloon ride. I have a small fear of heights (I get very bad vertigo at really high places or going up clear stairs), so I was kind of scared at first, but wanted to try it. Vegas Balloon Rides is a super highly rated company - and sold deals on Groupon! We brought 2 Groupon deals for the 4 of us. Redemption was super easy and very quick. It was super easy redeeming our passes and then booking a day to fly. You have to call the night before to confirm that the flight is still going on and where to meet. This was super quick and easy - it's just a recording! We arrived at about 5:30am at their office to meet up. There's water and granola bars in the office, so you won't be starving! We all piled into the van to be driven out to the lift-off sight, which was probably a 30 minute drive away. Once the basket was out and the balloon inflated, they taught us how to climb in and how to brace for a rough landing. Everyone was super friendly and very helpful in every way. They definitely helped make the daunting task of lift-off much more fun. Our pilot was hilarious and a great pilot. Lift-off and landing was super smooth and we never felt a single bump. Apparently our flight date (1/15) was their first flight since the first day of the new year, so we were super grateful we managed to get good weather. I have to say, it was well worth getting up early and possibly fearing for my life. It was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my entire life - definitely well worth it! If you are inclined to go for a balloon flight, here in Las Vegas is where you should do it. The pictures tell the tale: majestic scenery and tranquility that defies articulation.
