To celebrate my niece's 21st birthday, we took a trip to Vegas! Lots of great food, shopping, gambling, but the highlight of our trip was this amazing helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon. The company picked us up at our hotel. They were on time and very friendly. When we got to the airport, we only waited a few minutes to board. The only thing I was bummed about was that we shared a helicopter with 2 other groups which means I was seated in the middle of the back row. My view was blocked by both strangers at each side of me so I couldn't see very well. Considering we all paid the same price for this tour, they had a much better view than me. We flew over the Hoover Dam and saw the most incredible views of the Grand Canyon. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of facts about the area. He packed the cutest picnic for us complete with champagne. On the way back, we got to see the sunset from the helicopter. Stunning!!! read more

"Bruce" contacted me yesterday, 6/19/17. Over a month after we booked our trip. Not sure why... He did not resolve anything nor apologize for the difficulty booking. In fact he stated that it was MY error COMPLETELY and thankfully my bf could pay. After an email exchange saying thank you for nothing I requested he not contact me again due to his poor customer service and professionalism. We booked through GC Flight but the actual ride was with 5 Star Helicopter Tours. Note: If you have ANY issues with small spaces, then do not book! I was excited about this trip until I climbed into the helicopter and was crammed against other people in a tiny seat. I immediately felt so claustrophobic that I had to bail before we even lifted off the ground. My group had a good time - but my ticket was a total waste of $$$. The tour in the air on the way to the Grand Canyon, over Hoover Dam and Lake Mead and through the canyon itself was excellent. However, the 30 minute landing at the gift store, for which we paid $100 extra, was a total waste of time and NOT on the floor of the canyon as others offered. It was at a small airport with just an Native American Reservation store and nothing else there. Finally, make sure you understand the actual pickup and drop off times at your hotel. The times advertised are not the actual times and even after adjustments, we were still picked up 1/2 hour late and returned 1 1/2 hours later than promised. read more

My husband and I surprised our two children (ages 4 & 8) with a helicopter tour over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon. The whole experience was wonderful! The shuttle picked us up at our hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and drove us to the little airport just outside of Vegas where we were greeted by the helicopter tour staff. The waiting area and helicopters were clean and comfortable. The helicopters were able to hold 6 passengers so we were broken up into groups and met our pilots. Holly was our pilot and she was beyond terrific. She explained step by step what the trip would look like. We were all given a safety overview before being seated on the helicopter. The flight was so fun and Holly took us in to the canyon and shared many fun stories. We took many pics on the flight with our own cameras. Upon landing, we were given the option to purchase a professional photo but there was zero pressure. The shuttle brought us back to our hotel safely. Great trip. Highly recommend. read more

I confirmed through the website and over the phone * pickup time of ~6:00am at the hotel on the strip * flight from Henderson Airport * 3 hours of free time at the Grand Canyon However, after I paid, they sent an itinerary saying * pickup time of 04:40am * flight from Boulder City airport (twice as far away as Henderson airport) I emailed to notify them of this, but was told the website time was "departure time" (it's clearly labeled as pickup time), and that the "early bird special" was only for the first departure of the morning (it clearly says early bird special is for any departures before 8am). Multiple calls were placed trying to reach them regarding this, but no one ever picked up. In the end, the tour group had just under 2 hours of free time at the grand canyon (8:00-9:15am and 09:30-10:10am) before heading back to the airport. despite leaving so quickly, we had to wait for an hour for our plane to show up, and then another hour after landing for our shuttle bus to arrive summary: very dishonest booking policies. taking my money before changing the itinerary in their favour. no support over the phone. free time was under 2hours, not 3 On the plus side, the staff during the trip was friendly read more

I HOPE YOU LIKE EMAILS! I didn't even get to take the flight, so this review is not about that. It is about the CONSTANT BARRAGE of emails after the fact PESTERING me about writing a review. Since I did not take the flight, I was not going to write a review, but THE PESTERING WOULD NOT STOP. I finally wrote back and even told them that I was not writing a review and why and asked them to stop, but then everyone got fixated on why we didn't take the flight. They refused to address the CEASELESS STREAM OF EMAIL that I was getting EVERY DAY after the event date. By the way, if you get sick within 24 hours of the event, don't expect ANYTHING, including a polite person to speak with. The person that I spoke to - between bouts of throwing up (and not from alcohol) - seemed completely disinterested and made it clear that we were within 24 hours so we were just forfeiting the money. I asked if they had a flight the next day, and she made it clear that we could not even expect a discount. I didn't ask for a discount - I was going to rebook even at full price, but her attitude was so crappy that I decided we would do something else. One other thing. This is a company that sells packages for some other group (Papillon Helicopters), so be prepared for a lot of back-and-forth finger pointing if anything goes awry. Too bad. It looked like a great event, and we travel to Vegas multiple times a year. I would have liked to do it, but it has been so soured by this whole situation that I have to cross it off my list completely. What a wonderful EVENT! We booked the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon that stopped in the canyon long enough for a brief picnic lunch. GC has this timed to allow the flight back to be at sunset. WOW! Our pilot was more of a tour guide that happened to be a helicopter pilot. He was funny, engaging, helpful, and more. The GC team we prompt and thorough in all of their emails. I'd say this is 2.5 stars. I have mixed reviews about the South Rim Grand Canyon Bus Tour we took on Saturday. I purchased my tickets via Living Social and I got an $89 deal, per person, which is currently priced at $158/ea. The company itself was very accommodating and had great customer service. But the rest of experience was mediocre. Their website states the following: "Your completely narrated tour will leave from Las Vegas to Boulder City with views of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead & the Mighty Colorado River. You will be one of the first to cross over the new Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge which is the longest concrete arch in the Western Hemisphere spanning over 1,000 feet and 890 feet of above the Colorado River. You will also travel through the habitat of the big horn sheep and the amazing Black Canyon on your way to the Grand Canyon. Learn about the Pioneer Indian Wars, early Spanish Conquistadors, the Missionaries, Mountain Men, Explorers and Settlers. Upon arriving at the Grand Canyon South Rim you will have 3+ hours to tour the Grand Canyon National Park by shuttle which stops at Mather Point, Bright Angel Lodge & Yavapai Point. Additional stops at Hopi House Museum and Grand Canyon Railway. Plenty of time to enjoy the canyon at Its finest. " As locals, we met the tour bus at Planet Hollywood. But we were told to be there 6am, 6:15 at the latest. But we sat in that tour bus for over an hour while we waited for everyone else to arrive. We didn't get on the road until 7:30! The "breakfast snack" consisted of junk food from Costco and bottled water given to you pre-boarding. The "guide" was a very nice older man, but you could tell he'd been doing this a long time and had lost his mojo. He overshot on the enthusiasm and started out the day announcing everything like Howard Cosell, but by 9pm that night, sounded like Ben Stein on Quaaludes. The "guided tour" part was also quite weak -- he told us all kinds of things no one really wanted to know, like directions and back streets around Vegas, like he was a cab driver. They're all tourists, dude; no one knows what you're talking about but us. But when we got out of town, we were really looking forward to hearing stories of the surrounding areas and historical tales and whatever. That's what we thought was going to happen, but instead he put in a video from like, 1950, about the Hoover Dam made by Disney. So we went to sleep as best as we could. We got to Kingman, AZ where he stopped to let everyone stretch their legs, pee and get a snack. There was nothing to see here in Kingman, but naturally, we were late getting back on the road because it was like herding cats. Then instead of giving us any historical information or stories about the area on the way to Williams, AZ, he put in Herbie the Love Bug with Lindsey Lohan, which stopped halfway through. Finally we get to Williams, AZ where we're informed we'll have a set buffet lunch. When I read about it on their website, it kind of gave me the impression we'd be having lunch AT the Grand Canyon, but instead we were offered a cafeteria style buffet of potatoes, rice, overcooked broccoli and 3-bean chili, fried pork chops and pasta. It was a gastro-travesty. Fortunately, they had a simple salad bar, which sufficed. It was fine; it just wasn't really what I had in mind when I envisioned the day. I pictured us eating outside by the Canyon. *shrug* My bad, I guess. Then it's ANOTHER 2.5 hours to get to the entrance of the park. Seriously, we spent FOREVER getting there. And despite the site and Living Social saying 3 hours in the park, we were only given TWO HOURS to sprint from Mathers Point to Bright Angel Lodge. That's 2.5 miles. Now, anyone can go 2.5 miles in 2 hours, but heaven forbid you want to stop for a second to take photos or read the monument signs, any of the educational information or, I don't know, just pause for a minute and take in the breathtaking view. And there are no signs along the way to indicate "hey, you're half way there" and the guide gave no milestones, so you have no idea how much time it'll take to get to Bright Angel so you feel like you have to really hustle. And when I mentioned this to the guide/driver, he said 'That's why I said just start walking." Yeah, because I came to the Grand Canyon to speed walk the South Rim. (eyeroll) We left and endured gassy passengers & Robin Williams in "RV", followed by "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" all the way home. We didn't get back in until 9:30pm. We had him let us off at Excalibur so we could take a cab back to PH, lest we have to sit on the bus for another hour while he dropped everyone off all over the Strip on a Saturday Fight Night. I wouldn't recommend this tour unless you're only here for a short time and have no opportunity to go back. Like, you're from Japan or something. Otherwise, plan a dedicated trip and stay overnight. You need more time to take it all in. The Canyon itself was spectacular. read more

There are so many travel companies trying to give you the best experience at the Grand Canyon. GC Flight actually does this though. Their customer service is up to par and they go to the extremes to make sure everyone is comfortable and sticks together. I was referred to GC Flight by my sister. She used their services last year and the limo driver drove all the way out to Arizona to bring them to the Grand Canyon. She had no idea how accommodating they would be. read more

Our flight day/time had to be changed because they "could not fill the ride" we had booked months in advance. I was annoyed and disappointed, but thankfully we were able to change our day and time. Other than that inconvenience, it was SPECTACULAR from start to finish! Our trip started with a van ride to the airport. Thankfully it was a smooth ride, unlike the local cabs that wiz around Vegas worse than a roller coaster! Our return ride was just as pleasant. The staff and photographers were polite and accommodating before our helicopter ride began, and the waiting area was clean and spacious. I cannot begin to explain how awesome our helicopter ride was. Matt was PHENOMENAL! He was humorous, polite, energetic, and it felt like we knew him for years. He told great stories and explained the sights perfectly. My son, who is autistic, asked hundreds of questions; and Matt did not seem the least bit annoyed and answered every one. When we took off, we expected the ride to be "bumpy" and that was not the case AT ALL! Matt's expertise made it feel like we weren't even moving! Even at speeds over 100 MPH!!! His landings were smooth as silk, and we could not have asked for a better ride. While the inconvenience of "filling the ride" was a little disheartening, it was absolutely worth the wait and change in schedule. I highly recommend GC Flight, and kudos to Matt for making our ride a most memorable experience!!! read more

I bought a Hoover Dam Tour for my boyfriend and me while we were visiting Vegas. The actual Hoover Dam tour was amazing. We got a tour of the power plant and then had free time to walk along the edge. The backdrop was perfect for taking pictures and we both really enjoyed this part. But this is where the tour should have ended. We were bused back to a hole in the wall casino in the middle of the desert for a lunch buffet. It reminded me of the buffet in Vegas Vacation. It was obvious that the food had been left out for quite a while. Maybe even the previous days leftovers. We picked through the line and were able to eat some salad and mashed potatoes. I honestly didn't want to risk my digestive system with the rest. After this, we of course were left to drop our money in the casino for a little while. The tour ended with a quick walk-through of Ethyl M's chocolates. I felt this was another ploy for the tour company to get us to spend our money. We loved seeing Hoover Dam. I honestly wish we would have just rented a car for the day and driven out there. It would have been a better experience. read more

I took my boyfriend on this adventure for his birthday. We had an incredible time! I would definitely recommend spending the extra cash and landing in the canyon, if you can swing it. Our pilot was the best! He was very knowledgable about the canyon - informing us about the colors of the canyon and what that meant. If you can, ask especially for Mad Dog Mike to be your pilot. He played us the best sound track and made the trip so much more interesting and fun! His knowledge of the areas geology and the history of the area made the trip that much more beautiful and fascinating. If you are lucky enough to have Mad Dog Mike as your pilot, ask him why he had to bite another pilot while he trained him! Booked through "GC Flight" for the night flight around the Las Vegas Strip with four people, including two children. We were sent to "5 Star Helicopter Tours" in North Las Vegas. Communication with the scheduling staff was good. The shuttle driver picked us up at 7:00 PM for what was scheduled as a 09:00 PM flight. The drive out to the airfield was about 30 minutes or so from the pick-up. We checked-in and were told there was time to use the restroom, get pictures taken, and have refreshments before the flight. We got into the line for pictures, but less than five minutes later while still in line were told we needed to get ready for the next flight. We rushed the kids to the bathroom and were gone less than two minutes. We got in the spot with the other two passengers and the ground crew guy said (verbatim), "Since they wasted time going to the bathroom, I don't have time go over the safety procedures!". Ridiculous. Then the other ground person said "Are we supposed to have two kids on the same flight? I did not think we were supposed to do that." They knew age and weight when I booked and it was clarified again when I talked to the scheduling staff and people at check-in. The flight was fun, but probably less than 15 minutes total. We then were able to get a picture taken and print made (extra $25). They had us wait about 40 minutes for the next two flights to come back for to fill up a shuttle for the hotel return. Again, most staff were great. Time it took to get to and from the airfield was pretty long, almost 2.5 hours including wait times and traffic, compared to the flight time of no more than 15 minutes. The one ground guy was nice enough, even though he was unsure about the kids. The first ground guy was rude and unprofessional. I do not believe we were the only people that felt this way, as we were hearing the people coordinating the rides talking about it on the shuttle radio during the trip back to the hotel. (A couple after us apparently bailed, after being scared by how they were talked to about the helicopter ride.) I am glad my son liked the ride, but I would never use "5 Star Helicopter Tours" again. Perhaps the other companies that GC brokers to or the Grand Canyon tours are a better experience. read more

I had to stop and pen this review immediately!! So, I'm planning a 5day trip to Vegas, and a place called "GC FLIGHT" obbbviously means I'm calling to inquire about what?? A flight right??? OK, so evidently the receptionist who can only hear my voice just ASSUMES I'm interested in a mere BUS tour....... I'm thinking "why is she telling me about a bus tour when I'm calling about a helicopter or airplane tour????????". I'm 34 and my businesses are self-sustaining/ run without my presence on the premises. My friends and I can afford a helicopter ride just fine. It is unfortunate that some receptionist ASSUMED b/c I'm Black (duhhh) that all I was calling about was a bus tour. Btwn mi amigas and myself, that's almost a $1400 loss on their end or whatever percentage they get from booking for other companies. I'd rather book directly with Maverick or whomever I end up choosing and pay the additional monies than to support ANY company who does not train their staff to know what not to say and what not to do. She accepted no responsibility for her unmerited assumption and had the NERVE to say I was the one who brought up a bus tour when I'm not even looking for a bus tour. As a business owner, please be advised, customer service is everything. You don't interrupt clients when they're asking questions and you don't place blame on them either. I could barely get in a word edgewise. Now off I go to resume my research on which company to book with.
