There were tons of them flying around the swarm, so it was just a cloud of bees. The honey and pollen were delicious. You can taste the quality from the first try. The instructions were very clear. Their website is also very user friendly. They also package their merchandise well, in a mason jar for the honey and a seasoning jar for the pollen as seen on their website. This is also the reason why I think they're reasonably priced. My mistake was that I wanted to consume honey & pollen to alleviate my allergies but didn't read their website carefully. From my research, in order for me to do that, the honey needs to come from bees that live in the area where I live. The misleading part of Vegas bees is that their apiary is in Joshua Tree in California. I guess it's my fault for assuming that just because they do extraction of bees in Vegas, it doesn't automatically mean that they keep the bees in Vegas to produce and sell honey. I could be wrong but I can only learn from here on out. Update: I was completely mistaken. owner reached out to me to clarify some facts that I was not aware of. They have multiple locations in which they keep the bees and the honey they DO sell are in fact from bees that live in Vegas (YAY) they have ADDITIONAL location in Joshua tree and Arizona but honey they sell in Vegas is not from those bees. I guess I need to explore their website some more. It looks like they offer workshops on beekeeping! This website is getting me very nerdy on bees, their lifestyle and honey. This company also sells beekeeping tools! If only I have the space for that. They offer humane bee removal. So by supporting this business, you're also supporting their values. Out of nowhere we had a large swarm of bees. I waited to see if they would move on, but they created a nest. I didn't want to have the bees killed, but removed humanly. Vegas Bees is the perfect company for that. They answered right away and were able to give us same day service. They effectively removed the bees. They explained some of the bee behavior and why they gathered. The next day the also did a follow up. The price is reasonable and you get a free jar of honey! We had a beehive in the soffit of our house, which would be fine except we were worried about the kids getting stung someday, as well as any damage to the house it could cause. Knowing how important bees are to our planet and how the bee population has been dwindling, we wanted them gone but we didn't want to kill them. Vegas Bees was the only place that gave us a viable option for this. It wasn't cheap but for good reason... they built a scaffolding, took some roof tiles off and then were able to get the bees out from the top. They certainly knew what they were doing and took their time to protect the bees. They found the queen they put her in a travel box and let the bees collect in their temporary home. Then a few days later they collected the bees and scaffolding and even gave us some honey from our hive! Dave and Pete are awesome and I'm so glad we were able to keep our bees alive. They came over and did an amazing job at removing a bee hive under our grill. They also let us watch and gave us phenomenal information on the bees and explain everything they were doing.
