First off the staff was very awkward didn't say one word to me except if I had an appointment and what was I coming in for. I said I wanted a wash and put a leave in conditioner in my hair to leave it natural. DO NOT LET MASHANA OR CINDY TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!! I went here to get my hair permed because this place advertises that its known for its perms. BIG MISTAKE. I showed MASHANA a few pictures of what I wanted and she said no problem. She fried the front of my hair and the back and sides were hardly curled at all. My hairline feels like stubble from how bad they did. And when I went back and told them how bad it was she said it was because my hair was thick. ITS YOUR JOB AS A HAIRDRESSER TO ASSESS HAIR!! I had asked for my hair to be cut to much and this lady cut 2 inches right off the bat. I wouldn't have minded if she had at least tried to give my hair some shape but she did not even try. She just gave me a "bob" and almost didn't cut it evenly. She was about to take off the robe kind of thing with the hair still wet and uneven. If I had not said anything, she wouldn't have noticed. Another this that was annoying was that she was distracted the whole time, talking to the cashier. I really felt like my hair was rushed and was not taken care of the way it should have been. I was 10 minutes early for my appointment and so the hair change began. Since I didn't know what I wanted I went with Johnny's choice. Made an appointment. Spoke to a male. Showed up before time. There was a male and female who were working. I was asked, by the female if I had an appointment. Said yes and was told to sit and wait. So waited and waited. 20 minutes past appointment time and nothing. At most other salons they let a stylist know and if the stylist isn't there they see where they're at. If they see you still waiting they check in with you, but this must be a not my client not my problem salon. They had my number, could've told me if they couldn't make it or let one of the other stylists know to let their client know they were running late. Seems like a lack of professionalism and lack of cohesion in the salon. Will not be going back or recommending to anyone. I tried Vegas Style Salon because of the reviews. I called, a guy answers says they take walk ins. Great. Show up a guy and a lady are there. She's busy with a guy and a guy waiting. The man takes me to his chair. I ask how long he's been cutting hair he says 30 years. I explained I wanted long layers because I blow out my hair. Showed him a video of what I wanted. I said "I'm sure you have your own style of cutting, I just want the end result."Everything is going normal but when he starts cutting I notice he's cutting big chunks of hair. He asked me to lean forward instead of him leaning towards me. Then he informed me the 30 years cutting hair he was a barber. I start getting nervous. He attempted to blow dry my hair it was a mess then proceeded to put these huge rollers in my hair and then put me under a dryer. It was to hot, the rollers started falling out, the lady tried to help. She called out to him no answer. He actually left the building because he came into the salon from the front door. He took the rollers out and my hair looked so gross. Next day it was worse. He actually cut a bob above my ears and everything below my ear is straight with no layering. Such a disconnect from top layers. It's extremely top heavy and I can not blow dry it. When I do nothing to my hair it looks haggard and super dry and frizzy on the ends. He hacked my hair up. Had to wait 40 minutes despite making an appointment. And I really didn't like how my hairstylist cut my hair... My hair was a bit lower than my shoulders. I only asked for a SMALL trim and layers and clearly indicated it should be up to my shoulders, but she cut more than 3 inches off and gave me a bob (a bit higher than my chin). Now I wouldn't really mind under normal circumstances, but I'm leaving for vacation in a couple weeks and it won't grow back in time; it's too damn short to curl. And I didn't like how the layers I asked for ended up looking, barely even looks like layers. I look like a guy now T_T Another thing (which could be largely my fault in my inexperience with salons, so take this with a grain of salt): I went here to save money from my go-to haircut place, as this place's price is $30. However, after the hairstylist finished the haircut, she asked if I wanted it styled, and I said sure. She didn't tell me it was an extra $10, so I ended up paying almost the same price as my favorite spot. In the other place, haircut + style is one package, so I assumed it was the same thing here, in which the $30 included the styling, which is why I assumed she asked so casually. There wasn't much information on their website, so the misunderstanding was very easy to happen. I know I could have had half the brain to ask her to make sure it wasn't an extra charge, but I honestly didn't realize styling wasn't part of the package for some salons. Just a tip for future customers: explicitly tell your customers if it's an extra charge when offering them extra service. You never know how what customers know. The receptionist and hairstylist was really nice. Their niceness prevented me from giving 2 stars. I just don't think the hairstylist really cut my hair suited for my face/type of hair. I'm really not the type to leave reviews like this, and I long debated whether I should even bother or not, but I decided this would give me peace of mind and can provide as a word of caution for others.
