I have been going to Desi at Mosqic for several years. It's always hard for me to find a competent stylist as I have a lot of hair and most people cannot handle it. Plus, I'm going grey and need frequent root touch ups. Desi is one of the best stylists and colorists around in my opinion. She listens to you and offers her honest opinions. My hair always looked terrific with her precision cuts and color (including blond highlights and root touchups). Mosaic is busy and quite large but is run like a well oiled machine. Not even close. The color was terrible even though I brought a picture. She cut 2.5 inches from the bottom even though I asked over 5 times to be sure it was cut only one inch. As I waited for over 30 minutes, there was no intention of trying to find or offer a solution. I understand that chairs are rented, and the way he operates his business is out of your control. As the salon manager or owner, however, his actions and how he handles his business is a direct reflection of you and the salon overall. ORIGINAL POST: DO NOT BOOK IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME. If I could do zero stars, I would. As a mom with a full time job, it is not easy to find time to make appointment for yourself. I booked with Johnny over 2 weeks in advance and even got an Instagram response saying "see you then" when I messaged to confirm my appt. Come appointment day, I have a conference call that ends at 1130am (appt at 12) and decided to be courteous of HIS TIME and take my call from the parking lot to ensure I'm on-time at 12. I come into the salon at 1250 and the manager and front desk tell me he hasn't been in all morning, but to wait. At that point, the manager should have called him to confirm if he was coming or not. It's your business. If he did call, he did not tell me the outcome of their conversation as I sat and waited 30 minutes for NO ONE to show up and let me know if would not be seen today by him or anyone. If you are running a business that is APPOINTMENT BASED, have the respect for your clients to commit to the appointment or cancel. I have been going to Mosaic Salon since I moved back to Vegas in 2016. It is literally the only reason, besides work, that I ever ventured to Henderson from my cozy westside of town for the first few years because frankly, it was worth the drive! Mosaic has always been bright, clean, and fashionable, but since new management took over a couple of years ago it has gotten even better! The stylists are fun, talented, and punctual. My personal stylist, David Van, is more than a color master, he's a color MAGICIAN!! My hair has ranged between asymmetric bob to long flowing tresses and spanned the spectrum of purples, blues, and greens and I have David to thank for the constant compliments I receive about my hair even 6-8 weeks after my last touch up. I've referred several friends to him and none have ever gone back to another stylist. I have very thick black Asian hair and I walk out every time looking like a glorious mermaid, not a frizzy bride of Frankenstein! I've also been through several of David's assistants who have been absolutely fabulous and are now full time, fully grown stylists themselves and continue to work in the salon because of their amazing skills and no doubt the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Mosaic. The front of the salon is also on point with both fashion and cute comfort. Some of the best pieces of my wardrobe have come from the salon including the only two jumpsuits I have ever tried on that don't give me a wedgie or make look like a kindergartner and a gorgeous denim trench coat that I went specifically to get for a holiday party.
