I highly recommend Vega's Tree Service. They arrived on time (even early) and asked me to walk through how I wanted the trees trimmed. I had several large trees that were touching the house, roof, and chimney. Once they began the work, they checked in with me to ensure they had cut the limbs I wanted. They made sure to get all the dead limbs and branches. I asked to keep some of the pine limbs for the chimney and they offered to cut them into logs that would fit in the fireplace. They completed all the work and clean up in just a few hours. Super professional, friendly, attentive, and competitively priced. I will be calling them again in the future. You should too! read more

Gathered several quotes and opinions for trimming my Ash trees -- including assessing removal of one. Mike did a great job of communicating his perspective and educating me on my options, while not being pushy one way or another, and gave me a very competitive quote. They were super patient while I weighed my options for a couple months and then responsive and relatively quick to get the work scheduled when I was ready. Upon starting the work, they were communicative, on time and did a great job -- all while being fairly quick (less than 1/2 a day) and clean (left my yard cleaner than when they came!) I had 2 trees that needed to be removed and 1 that needed a trim. The removal was a 35-40' Box Elder and the trim was a 45-50' Box Elder in a residential setting. I had 4 quotes for the trees and Mike did something that shocked me; he provided a reasonable quote without having to be haggled down. I've often thought that if someone would just give realistic quotes they would do well in the trades in general; I usually find prices are roughly double what a fair quote is and Mike's quote proved that was true since the other three averaged twice Mike's price. They arrived and did a solid job, worked quickly, and cleaned up reasonably. They are definitely not a touchy-feely crew; came in, took care of business, and left. If I could give a 0, I would. I hired Vega to do stump removal. Set the attached photo of the end result. It's a complete mess & they've refused to finish the job. My lawn company & landscape company were in complete shock. Said a company should never leave a yard & a half of shavings. There was a tornado that hit the area recently so a ginormous Aspen tree fell in my backyard. It took a while to hear back from Vega's tree bc of the flood of tree emergencies that happened after the tornado but they did eventually get back to me once they freed up. Their quote was very competitive and they did a great job removing the tree without damaging the deck underneath it, and a good job cleaning up. I will definitely use them again! read more

Vega's Tree Service does not deserve the one star. Out of all the years I have owned a home, this was the worst experience I have ever been through with a contractor. I believe I stopped counting at 5 or 6 no shows or calls during the project, which was to remove one tree and grind an extra stump. During the process, the truck damaged our asphalt. I notified of the damage, and yet again multiple scheduled times for the repair and multiple no shows or calls. I would recommend going with another company as Vega's has no what customer service is. In response: I was NEVER notified via text or email about the 5 to 6 no shows. I had to call and each time there was another excuse as to why the workers didn't show. I have sent a check to the provided address 3 times and the post office has returned all 3 times due to a non current address. At no time did a representative from Vega say they were giving me a discount due to the damages to our asphalt. read more

Not only did they give us the best bid, they were totally professional in providing their insurance docs and taking care of getting Xcel Energy to bring down their lines, which were tangled in our tree. The tree was a huge, 100 year old cottonwood, so we were sad to have to bring it down, but it posed a hazard for our building and the power lines. It took 3/4 of a day to do the whole job, and the clean-up, and it was worth the payment!! It looks like my story with Vega's Tree Service, is similar to a few others here. On 19 AUG, we scheduled an tree-trimming appointment for 31 AUG. Since I hadn't heard anything after arranging the appointment, I reached out to confirm the day before (30 AUG) by email. I was told they would arrive in the morning and likely be done by noon. Nobody arrived on the day the work was scheduled. By 1:30pm, I sent email, called and texted to find out what's going on and possibly reschedule the job. Before 2pm, I got the text that the morning job was taking longer than expected and that I'd receive a call back in a few hours. (Admittedly, I remain confused about how my job was scheduled for the morning and yet we got held up by another morning job.) Over a week later, I have received no adequate response through my multiple attempts to contact Vega's through text and calls. This includes any real engagement on missing the scheduled date and the poor communications. While I understand stuff happens and things change, it's important that a company stands up and works to make it right. read more

I'm posting this because, well, it's laughable and sad on so many levels. On May 22, 2018, I called three different tree services to get estimates for work that needed to be done. The first came that same evening. The second was to come that Friday at 4:30 pm, and the third, who called back on May 24th, scheduled to come that Saturday " after 9 am". The second and third companies stood us up - no phone call, no nothing - so we went with the first company. First company showed up on May 30, as scheduled, and did part of what we wanted ( we are doing it in stages for budget reasons). We are happy with the results. Imagine my surprise when I found this estimate in my mailbox this morning from our Saturday no show. What is even more laughable, and frankly, a bit obscene, is that this estimate is given for a tree that no longer exists. Now, to be fair, there is another maple in the backyard, but do you go off of what you assume is back there? I know you didn't come into my backyard. How is this considered good business? You no showed our appointment, did not bother to call us, ( don't say you lost my phone number because you wrote it on your estimate) and then you have the gall to just give us an estimate on what you think is going on, you couldn't bother to knock on my door and talk to me? Why on earth do you think I would want to do business with you? We are quite happy with the company we chose but hope you learn from this guffaw. read more

Super fast initial response to schedule quote. On time for quote appointment and provided quote immediately. (Others had to return to their offices and email me their quote.) Selected them based upon both demonstrated knowledge of the work needed as well as their super competitive price. Tree guys arrived on time to do the work, and cleaned up after themselves. Stump grinder also on time, did great work, and cleaned up after himself. Lastly, Mike (one of the owners) was involved the entire time. Easy to schedule, great prices, professional and courteous workers. The removed a huge cottonwood and didn't leave any mess. My landlord wanted the stump taken out too so they sub-contracted Stump Removal and Daughter. They left all of the debris from the ground up stump and I now have wood chips spread out over a 15' circle in my yard. I was very happy with the tree removal, hence the good review. When I first contacted Mike everything went smoothly, he gave me a good quote to trim my tree and cable two branches together. He showed up and trimmed the tree and told me the cable company was sold out of cables and would definitely be back next week to cable the tree. Its now been 8 weeks of fake promises and ignored messages. I've just given up at this point. Theres always an excuse of why another job is more important or the crews are running late or he just flat out doesnt respond. My tree is still not cabled together and I have no faith that Mike will finish what he said he would. If you want a reliable trimming service that finishes the job and responds promptly, look elsewhere. UPDATE: The cabling work was done free of charge and the project has now been completed. I contacted Vega's Tree Service and spoke with Mike about a week ago. I needed a big dead Cottonwood removed; I will say unabashedly this was the best call I have made. I called for a quote and Mike was able to fit me in within a couple of days; I found Mike to be an absolute pro in every respect of the word, courteous, amicable and above all GENUINE! He gave me a fair price, explained the process, and we set the time. Of course when the cutting day came around it was snowing, Mike called first thing to reschedule for Saturday 03.18.16. It was freaking cold Saturday morning, snow on the ground and I honestly thought we would have to reschedule, NOT THE CASE! Mike and crew showed up right on time and got to work, snow, cold and all! The crew is fast, efficient and no non-sense they felled the tree, cleaned up and were finished within a couple of hours and left the site like "it never even happened" talk about thorough, these guys are it.
