The only variable I didn't define if the font. I assumed the tattoo artist would know best what would work. For some reason, they wanted me to provide artwork. I get it, you do a lot of work and everybody wants something different, but I just wanted a name and date, since the size was specified, the only thing left to debate was the type style. For some reason, they couldn't or wouldn't quote me, I was told that there was a good chance it would be the shop minimum, but they couldn't confirm and with it being 110 degrees, I didn't want to be shuffling up and down the strip when any competent shop should have been able to quote me in advance. That did in fact happen here, and when the people at Illuminati were clear and told me they would present me with font choice that didn't elevate their quote, I ended up using them. I have no idea how much money flows through Vegas, but when people come here, they come to spend. Pardon me if I like to know in advance what I'm spending. So unless Yelp has changed their policy that a review is a unique experience, I trust that this detailed account of Revolt satisfies the terms and conditions I agreed to. Moderation is great, but without integrity, the review system breaks down.

The fact that you claim the only way to get your best service is to come in is exactly how and why you earned a single star review. So here is my PSA if you care to rectify what you did wrong. Disarm customers. People have stigmas about tattoo. For some it could be the price, for others it could be the pain and for some it could be the quality. I know what I wanted was so vanilla, that anyone could not only do it, but do it quickly. Originally, I thought Koolsville could do it and I'm sure they could, but in reflection, I didn't want a tattoo that was going to fade or not look like a paid full price. If I had a car and parking wasn't an issue, I might have popped in on all the shops I considered, but again, knowing that what I wanted was a 1 on a scale of 1-10 in terms or effort or expertise, I just wanted to know I was going to get what I needed without being ripped-off or dismissed. The shop that I ended up using understood what I wanted, was able to confirm pricing ahead of time and ASSURED ME, IF I CAME IN, I'D BE TAKEN GOOD CARE OF. That didn't happen in my exchange with your staff. *********************************************************** Yelp claims to be a place of integrity, but at times the review system is abused. Reviews are intended to capture an experience. You don't have to spend money or even be a customer to have an experience with a business and that is exactly what I reviewed for Black Spade. I reached out to them about having work done while I was on vacation. Rather than call them rude or abrasive, which they were, I'll just say they were dismissive. Based on that interaction, I continued to request quotes from other vendors before being treated with respect by Illuminati Tattoos. So, unless Yelp has changed their policy and reviews now require a documented exchange of money. That is my first-hand recount of contacting Black Spade. Some times you got to call a spade a spade.

I hardly ever take the time out of my busy schedule to write reviews but I knew I had to about Vegas Val's Tattoos. Out of the many places you can go in Vegas for a tattoo, I chose to go to Vegas Val's Tattoos. I was drawn to her artwork that was displayed at a booth during March's First Friday event that is held downtown Las Vegas monthly. I was so excited to find out that she was also a tattoo artist. I went ahead and schedule an appointment for a consultation. She is by appointment only and is very reasonable with her pricing. Of course her work is very much worth every penny!!! Val, the tattooist, is very professional and most importantly her shop is very clean. You don't feel grossed out by weird shit laying everywhere like I have seen at other tattoo shops (yes, I have left other tattoo shops because of how dirty they felt just standing at the door). Every part of my experience at Vegas Val's Tats was welcoming and comfortable. She doesn't try to up-sale anything and makes sure she is giving you what you want and not what she wants to do like many other artists out there do. Of course if you want her input, she is totally helpful and willing to give you her thoughts and opinions. The staff is very friendly and personable, of course it is just one employee there (Val), so you don't have to worry about other artists trying to hound you down for your business. I highly recommend this shop and will not go anywhere else for my future tattoo work. I am super excited for my next appointment with Val. I can't wait to complete my sleeve and back piece with her and to have more amazing art to show the world! read more

If I had to dream up the perfect tattoo artist for me it would without a doubt be Val. Being born and raised in Vegas I've seen it all and I am not easily impressed. Finding an artist who understands you, treats you like more than just another customer, and applies their craft in such a passionate manner is to be frank, unheard of. Well, you need not venture any further. This is Val. I am a writer/poet and described a concept of what I wanted then conveyed it through a poem I wrote. Naturally I expected to be disappointed and misunderstood. Not only were my expectations met, they were exceeded. I'm still in a state of bafflement but that speaks volumes to the level of her ability through and through. I state with great pleasure that I have found an artist that I will stick with forever. Yes even if she retires one day I will find a way to get her to still ink me up. You wont find an artist that is more comfortable to be with which is extremely important, after all it is permanent. Plus she has Vegan Ink, most shops/artist don't even know what that is. There is no reason to go anywhere else, I certainly wont. read more

I was in Vegas on vacation and came across Val's business card. I knew ahead of time that I wanted to get a foot tattoo so after doing a little research and reading nothing but an abundance of good reviews about Vegas Val's, I decided to contact Val. She was very prompt in returning my call and set me up for an appointment the same day. I showed Val the design I wanted and she suggested some minor changes. I ended up loving her design much better than the one I originally selected. Her shop was really cool and it was clear that she's talented beyond the needle. She had lots of displays of her own artwork hanging up and around the shop. Val was very personable and fun and most importantly clean! She keeps a very clean shop and I could tell she takes great pride in her work, very professional. I felt really comfortable with her and fed off her good energy. Living in Las Vegas, there is no shortage of tattoo artists to choose from. I looked at review after review and I finally decided on Vegas Val's. I am glad I did. This was my first tattoo (and second as I got two in that session) so I wanted to make sure the artist was good at what they do. I can say that Val did not disappoint. I easily set up an appointment and I showed her what I wanted. She quoted me a price and I felt it was quite reasonable. Val is extremely nice and has a great personality. We had a nice conversation the entire session and I didn't even realize she was done. I am very satisfied with the work she did and I will certainly only return to Val if I decide on another tattoo. If you want a tattoo in Vegas, make a trip to the west side of town and visit Val. You won't be disappointed. She also has some amazing artwork around her shop and some is for sale. read more

Love the tattoos she has given me. No problem with any of them! They all healed fine, the ink is still vibrant, and she is light handed! Saw a comment on here that said it made their skin red and they had to go to the hospital. Well, no shit. It happens because its a lot of pain for one area. Its goes away cry baby. Also, the point of the deposit is to ensure youre going to show up. If you dont, the deposit is to make up for your cancellation. She even mentions its nonrefundable. Val is awesome. Sucks you didnt enjoy your experience with her because everyone else has. read more

I have gotten 5-6 tattoos from Val. She was referred to me by a family friend and when I got there for my first tattoo I realized it was a friends mom. She has always been so nice and made me feel comfortable from day 1. Her line work is amazon and 2 of my tattoos she has done is in my moms handwriting. Looks exactly like it still 2 years later. My mom went with me to get matching tattoos and it was her first one. She made the experience amazing. I am soon going to be 75 years old. I always wanted a tattoo. So I did some research and I liked what I read about Val's. So I went in and she said she could take me in a half hour. If you ask him a question about the tattoo AT ALL - he will cancel it day of! We went in for a consult and discussed the tattoo. We put down our deposit. He told us that if we had questions or wanted changes the day of the tattoo we could do that. He put the stencil on and we told him we LOVED it - my husband asked a total of 2 questions about the shape and positioning he was planning for a couple areas. During the 2 question he asked, Joseph's only response was "you should let the artist be an artist" in a very rude tone. He then proceeded to cancel the entire tattoo saying we were "micromanging". I have MANY tattoos and have worked with many artists who gladly went over the tattoo and the design choice before starting with no issue. Joseph is not your artist if you like to collaborate, have an elaborate design, or even have a question about any aspect of the piece. Maybe Joseph has forgotten that this tattoo is going to be on his customer FOREVER. It was embarrassing and rude to just make us leave after showing nothing but respect to him and the shop. If he cant deal with a couple questions from a customer - he's in the wrong business. Hopefully this saves someone the headache of dealing with this unprofessional tattoo diva

Ka'ala gave me excellent service! The atmosphere was very…read morerelaxing. My first visit with Ka'ala was a little nervous. Told Ka'ala the idea I had in mind. He said he would sketch out a design and would send it to me. Didn't take too long and there was the design. It was so nice. Didn't expect it to be that nice but with his professional drawing, it made it beautiful. Had to make an adjustment on one of the names, which was no problem for him. Plus he added a flower to my design, which made it really really nice the following week I had an appointment with him to do the actual tattoo it took only two hours and it was done. I am so satisfied with his design and tattooing recommended by my son. THANK YOU KA'ALA!!!!
