Let me start by saying, LOOK NO FURTHER! Veiled Beauty is expensive, but worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY for having your wedding dress altered. I called Veiled Beauty, crying, at 10 pm a few months before my wedding when I received my wedding dress in the mail and it did not fit well. Kat and all of the staff at Veiled Beauty altered my dress SO well that you couldn't even tell it had been intended to be strapless!! I am "well endowed" in the chest as some would say and have a small torso, so I always struggle with fitted clothing fitting my chest and abdomen and being the right amount of sexy, without showing too much skin. Kat LITERALLY built my strapless dress from the boob up with extra fabric and transformed it into the most beautiful halter neck dress. She made the dress look even better than it had strapless and listened to my requests to a T! While my dress was in Kat's possession it mysteriously got dirty. No one apparently knows how it got dirty and after speaking with Kat she pretty much blamed me and said it could've been if it was raining outside or my hands were dirty going into the appointment (neither were the case). She refused to take ownership that her shop was the reason my dress had gotten dirty and so the day before I'm pick up the dress she lets me know I can pick it up but will need to get it dry cleaned. Keep in mind I was scheduled to pick up my dress just a few days before our wedding in Mexico and so was scrambling to find a dry cleaner to clean her stains. I reached out letting her know the cost was nearly $200 and asking to be reimbursed and she refused because "there was no proof it was her store that got it dirty". So keep in mind they do not offer any dry cleaning services so you'll most likely have to pay to get it dry cleaned before your wedding. After paying $1500 on alterations it seems fair to me expect a clean dress to be returned. After that I had realized on my credit card she charged me twice for my final payment and refused to assist me at all or take any ownership of this mistake. Telling me to work it out with my credit card company, which means create a dispute which takes weeks to resolve. Overall this was one of the most stressful parts of my wedding process having to deal with this mess less than a week before. Would not recommend. read more

I work in the area and always noticed the really nice window display. My sister is getting married and has an engagement ring which pairs well with several of the head pieces on the window display. I told her about the shop and we decided to visit. Upon entering the girl (short brown bob) was working on a veil and turned around and barely even said hi. I'm not even sure I remember what she said to us but she kind of just brushed us off. She went back to doing what she was doing and didn't look back up at us until my sister inquired about possibly having an over skirt made for a dress she had in mind. She seemed very annoyed that we had entered the store, looking back perhaps the store is by appointment only, which is fine she could of simply asked if we had an appointment and we would of just gone on our way. The entire interaction was a very awkward experience. At the point when my sister asked her if they made overskirts, and was forced to interact with us only to respond with "We do custom orders but we usually get most of our business from lovely bride (she named a few other bridal stores). But we are very high end and only do custom orders." The entire conversation felt like she was letting us know they only alter "high end"dresses im guessing. Honestly I'm still not sure the basis on her emphasis of "very high end." My issues with the whole interaction are: 1) we were hardly acknowledged upon entering. We didn't expect a glass of champagne by any means but at the very least she could of stopped what she was doing and at least interacted or asked if we were in search of whatever they sold there. Secondly, "very high end" is a very informal way to describe your business. High end means many different things to different people. Unless Sofia Richie bought her veil or altered her dress there, I fail to understand what makes it "very high end." Their highest priced item on their Etsy shop is $659+ which is very affordable to most brides. Bespoke, couture, made to fit, custom made, tailor made, maybe would have been a better choice of words. "Very High end" in the context it was used, was used to justify her preconceived notions of what my sister can or can't afford. Her non-verbal behavior made it very clear she wanted us to leave. We were literally the only 3 people in the shop so it wasn't like she was helping other customers. Upon exiting the store after a painful and disturbing silence, I laughed and told my sister "I think you just had your pretty woman moment." I believe she was still processing the whole thing and just looked very confused by the whole thing at that point I started feeling enraged because this wasn't the experience I wanted for my sister after suggesting a store. After booking appointments at the bridal boutiques in the area, I will make sure they know who they choose to refer business to if they recommend Veiled Beauty for alterations. Weddings are a very special day for any bride regardless of their financial status and everyone deserves a much better experience than this. I hope the owner of this place knows which employee this is and coaches her on how to properly usher out unwanted guests. read more

I purchased a very expensive Rue gown ("Reno") with intricate, bold geometric lace and was looking for someone with lots of experience I could trust with altering my dress. I needed a lot of alterations done as I am more of a pear shape. Kat worked her magic to bring in parts of the top half, loosen up the sleeves for added comfort and flexibility, hemmed the slip and most importantly did a flawless side hem of the geometric train (the part I was most concerned about) without taking away from the design of the dress and lace!! Kat is very detail oriented and picks up on everything. My first appointment she really took her time with figuring out what alterations we should do, and she took lots of notes and video to keep track of it all. My second fitting and final fitting were super quick and easy, thanks to Kat's amazing prior experience! Turn-around was also very fast! I was able to the whole process over three fittings/6 weeks total. I loved the laid-back environment and personalities of Kat and Madison. I went to their website and saw extensive information about scheduling alterations, etc. and felt confident in their expertise alongside the trusted recommendation. She was super helpful in explaining to me any implications of major changes like adding a slit and what that would cost and let me sleep on it until our next fitting (I ultimately decided to not add it which was best). I never felt like she was encouraging or pressuring me to spend more than absolutely necessary to achieve what I wanted. I was also in the midst of a weight loss journey, so she helped me walk through various scenarios that led us to waiting to do the final fittings until closer to the wedding (I definitely was anxious to get started and scheduled them too soon!). She was always super kind and understanding. My final fitting was with Kat, who is the owner, and she was equally wonderful. All stresses I had about my dress before alterations were gone and I just never felt better than I did in that dress! If I could have Kat 1000 stars I would. I came to her with a dress that was 3 sizes too big in every area, and she took it in beautifully at every single seam. She had already done the dress before (she does a lot of Rue de Seine dresses) which was helpful to know going into it.
