Look elsewhere. Called them twice, both bad experiences. First in 2014 I called to have landscape pavers. Got the estimate and I agreed. I was told they would call me back for an appt and to chose color. I came home one day and found that they had completed the job without calling they were arriving and didn't allow me to pick the color. I was able to deal with the color after sometime. Against my best judgement I decided to use them again and give them a second chance. I called to repair a stone walkway and to have mulch delivered. First it started with phone tag for 2-3 days. They never seem answer. Wendy finally was able to send someone out for an estimate and I got my quote. I agreed to quote and AGAIN Wendy said she would call me to let me know when they would arrive. That was in April. Just last week I got a call from Wendy asking if I still wanted to have mulch delivered and walkway repaired. That's 2 MONTHS LATER that I got a call back. By then I had gone to Home Depot myself and got all the mulch I needed and repaired my walkway myself. I guess I saved myself $900. Overall this company is not reliable. Find someone else. read more

They are respectful of the lawn furniture and the other inconvenience things in our yard. Watch out for this landscaping company. Their main objective is to charge you far more than the job is worth. They wanted to charge me $450 to trim some bushes on my side and front of house. I found another landscape company who did it for $75. When I asked them to quote cutting my lawn, José told me $35 per cut, but when I got the bill, it was $60 for the first cut, abs then $35 thereafter, which they never said. This company is out to profit from you. From the beginning, I asked them for a written quote if services. I waited, and waited, and waited and waited. I finally received the quote after they had done the work, so I had no recourse from their billing. Steer clear of this landscape company. There's many more out there that will give you a fair price. read more

We recently purchased a home in Wheaton and the yard needed a lot of work. I am a general contractor by trade, so I deal with contractors for a living, and I have to say they do fantastic work and treat you very fairly with pricing. They are one of the very few honest and respectful contractors out there. I used Official for two years. The first year they did a great job. Everything was done that I asked. Never a complaint. This year must have been a new crew and not a very good one. I made several calls and asked to have them weed whack the side of the house and blow the cut grass off the porch and walk after mowing. It was never done and I never received a phone call about the concerns. Last week they came and didn't even bother to do the back yard at all. I know this because I work from home and have my office where I can see and hear them. The same the week before that. Owners of a business have every right to not call back to discuss dissatisfaction with work but it is encouraged so that you keep your customers happy. I started using Official Landscaping this Spring. I called to get a quote on spring clean up and contacted them via Facebook. Wendy got back to me quickly and sent Raul out on a day/time that was convenient. He was friendly, professional and provided a very reasonable quote. 6 weeks after they came to do the initial work, they still have not completed the task and fixed the loose stone step in my back yard. I have had at least 8 phone calls, emails and voicemails to the firm and despite assurances that there would be a crew out either that day or the next, the work is still not done. I have paid for the work because the owner initially assured me he would get the supplies and come back that day to fix the step. We used their services late last summer to have our patio and front porch area re-sealed. We and others were very impressed by the job they did and their professionalism. Unfortunately about two months after the job the pavers all started to turn white. This continued until they now look grayish white and worse then when we started. We called Raul in the Spring as why call him in the winter as nothing could be done then. He came out and said it must be something to do with the sealant he used. He took some photos and said he would get back to us. He never did and we have left at least 7 messages on their voicemail to no avail. At least have the courtesy to call us back. We had our landscaping done around the front and sides of our house! When it was first done I thought they did a wonderful job. Come to find out after noticing a ton of weeds growing in on one side, that they didn't put the weed protector/lining down all the way around the side. I got my front and backyard done with brick retaining walls repaired and I added beautiful white rocks around the trees in my front yard and pathway to my door. I will give them one star because they do a good job mowing the lawn. We had them do a weed clean up services at our home back in May and I watched them use a weed wacker in my landscaping beds. Of course, the weed wacker threw a rock and they shattered my back door. It has taken the whole summer to get them to replace my back door and now they still want me to pay the full price for the weed clean up service. I have called other landscaping companies that say they never use a weed wacker in the landscaping beds. They also left their hacksaw in my driveway which I luckily found before my 3 year old and put it away until I could give it back to them. I recommend using another company. read more

This is my first season with them and hopefully many more. Have tried some different lawn services in the past and decided to give these guys a try this season and I'm glad I did. They really take the time to do the job right, show up weekly, edge the sidewalks, the patio and drive, blow everything clear at the end. The original proposal included pickup of the clippings, but I have always preferred to leave the clippings to help nourish the lawn. After a recent storm, we needed an immediate tree service to take care of some damaged black walnut trees. I went to an online service that allows you to request quotes for service to multiple vendors. Official Landscaping was the first to call back. After our call, they were able to send someone out to our site the very same day in order to provide a quote. Since they are a landscaping company, while on site, we asked for an additional quote for patio repair services to repair a sunken paver patio. Very quickly they came back with reasonable quotes for each of the services. We were impressed with their willingness and capability to take on the paver job since no other landscaping firm wanted to take on the project because it was too small in scope. Wendy was very quick to respond and set up a timeline for both projects. The teams came onsite, were professional, friendly and fast. The quality of both jobs was superb. I am a tough customer and very critical. Because of that, I rarely take the time to post critiques. But this team definitely earned high praise. read more
