The realness and kindness and overall hospitality of the magic castle hotel is very worth it. It has a very cozy feel, and the amenities are all worth looking into/ utilizing. I was greeted by Kevin and Kit who were wonderful, and then the night ended with Randy at the front desk. Randy sat and entertained all my silly questions about the history of the hotel and a bunch of movies that related to old Hollywood culture. I've lived within 30-40 minutes north and south through 27 years of life, and this is one of my favorite hotel experiences I've ever had. If you're a real one this is the place for you. We were able to get admission to the Magic Castle through the Magic Castle Hotel by booking a room at their location which is adjacent to the Castle. We made a day of it by checking in with Nicole who took great care of us, the hotel offers complimentary car service to Yashimiro which is located on the hill above both the Castle and Hotel. We went up there (as I posted earlier) for drinks and nibbles before the show which was later. When we came back we were able to clean up and dress into the accepted attire for the Magic Castle. Nicole and her co workers offered us complimentary champagne upon arrival, a cornucopia of delicious snacks, assorted cappuccino/lates, soda and soft serve ice cream all with 24 hour access. We got a great 2 bedroom room which worked perfect for what we needed, our besties daughter and husband met us at the hotel later and they spent the night when we drove home. Room was great, pool area was very inviting with the intense heat we were having. Staff were amazingly helpful and the room rate was very reasonable for a Hollywood location. What a great way to get access to the Magic Castle if you are not a member. We had a great time at the Castle but photos are not allowed in the Castle during the shows and didn't want to take a chance to photo our fabulous dinners. The food was much better than the last time we were there 2 years ago, shows are always superb and fun. So if you want to visit the Magic Castle for dinner and a magic show book it through the Magic Castle Hotel And make it an overnight experience, the shows run late and it beats driving home after. Nicole and the staff will take great care of you and you can also visit Yashimiro and other local spots in Hollywood. Bravissimo Magic Castle and Hotel. We will be back!

We booked the English suite and it was exactly as pictured on their website. The location is fantastic in between Sunset and Hollywood Blvd made it ideal for both attractions and restaurants. Walking distance to Walgreens and the walk of fame. The room was as like an apartment with separate living , dining and bedroom. All very comfy, huge bed , lovely sofa. Very generous with crockery, cutlery and glasses . Some very unique pieces to be used. They supplied plenty of ground coffee , tea , coffee whiteners and even some fruit. Free parking even though tight. Only issue was the wi fi was not that reliable. The hotel is in a lovely quiet street , felt safe. All in all loved our first taste of Hollywood at this hotel.

The Bad: -Was unable to reach anyone by the office phone during office hours or the emergency line both during and before office hours. -The toilet would bubble up water and send whatever you had in there to splash back at you. -The shower would also bubble up water and we could not use the shower without worrying if the shower would overflow. -The parking lot in the back is a one lane and can get easily blocked. -The water back pressure issues were not addressed during our stay (we left a message and no response) and after we called both lines and knocked on the office door at check out time the owner finally appeared and told us we didn't have to check out and that we could just leave (check out instructions were clear that was the case) but we wanted some help getting out since our exit was blocked. We explained that we were blocked in and I asked for an explanation for the phones and the lack of working bathroom and the owner explained that it rained last week and they thought it was fixed. That's it. Basically, this is a fine place to stay if everything goes right, but if something goes wrong, don't expect any help from the management of this place. Also don't come here after it rains.

That makes this the choice for you if you also want more than a room with a bed. It is an old building, imperfect but charming, a touch drafty but able to warm up. As long as you realize up front that this isn't going to be a hotel experience I dont think you'll have any regrets. Home state for breakfast tacos, Intelligentsia for coffee. Enjoy!

We were doing a…read moresmall fashion blogger dinner (60 people) for a well known fashion retailer with a performance by a well known R&B female. Again, this was a private performance for 60 people in their late 20s-30s. It was beyond mellow in over in less than 3 hours (ie before 11pm). Luca & Luca found a house in the hills for us that met all of our criteria, but the minute the contract was signed, we started finding discrepancies in what we were offered. All the sudden we were no longer allowed to use the promised interior of the house for any reason, even catering. We had no access to any restrooms, so Luca and Luca had to bring in a restroom trailer. Finally we were not allowed to use the extremely steep driveway to load in and/or take girls up the hill for drop off. With the event being days away, there was really nothing we could do but move forward. Since the restroom trailer was not rented by us, but Luca and Luca, it was left there hours longer than the owner wanted. They are now charging us for this overage and Luca and Luca refuse to pay for these damages. It is obvious that the owner is not reasonable, even by his own lawyers description, but I found the way Luca and Luca disappeared not only disconcerting but unprofessional. When I finally called after numerous times of them dodging our calls, and them being completely unhelpful to my production director, they were flat out rude and accusatory saying, "there's no way we're going to pay for this." For that reason, the place was great as we were able to walk back from The Bowl and avoid crazy wait times for an Uber or crazy parking prices. As far as the Hotel itself, it was relatively clean, just quite a bit outdated with lots of layers of paint on the windows and random paint patches on the walls. The bed was also very uncomfortable and felt like a very old thin mattress. Additionally, the outside was covered in cobwebs and could use a good daily walkaround of the property to maintain a bit better. Check in & Checkout were both very easy as far as just getting an electronic key sent to your phone. As a note, they do charge an early check in fee of $45 and Late check out fee of the same. Also, parking is $35 per night, which for LA was very fair.

Backstory: I first stayed here 15 years ago and the place was immaculate. It had mid century charm/etc and that's why I chose to take my wife there for her first trip post beating cancer. What a dumb idea that was. First: the property is now managed by "The Bright Hotel." It seems as though their M.O is to outsource all hotel offerings to their central platform. Note: It makes staying at a hotel seem like being at an Airbnb. Also, if you look at their website it seems as though they have 4 hotels under their control. Looking further at their platform, it shows that they charge +/- 1000 a month to manage a hotel. With 4 hotels under their control and a documented(on their website) executive team of up to 14, one may question how this platform makes money. On to the 'hotel' It was apparent this place has changed hands a number of times in the recent years with the new owner wanting the 'classic' Japanese steak house at top but having the hotel bundled with it. The hotel houses a certain number of apartment units that chews up most usable parking space. Parking space that you don't find out is 40/night prior to booking. Also the hotel makes no note of it being completely ada inaccessible. Good luck with that. We checked in. The property's condition could best be described as disarray (or as my wife called it, a shithole.) Conditions are mostly unsafe which led me to filing a claim with the LA building board. We noticed unsafe thresholds, exposed wiring (all in pics below.) One evening while arriving back to the few unsafe unlit parking spots, I hit a random tree that was laying in the parking lot unlit wrecking the front air dam of my car. Most of the property looks like a ghetto apartment building with a view. Pics attached show unsafe building practices, a building in disarray and to give an idea of the transient nature... when i asked for the pool gate code via text thru the awful hotel platform, i was informed not to give it to anyone else. The pool and instagram pictures showcase this as a beautiful instagram friendly hotel. It's anything but that. You'll fear for your safety the bulk of the time you're here. You'll fight with yamashiro valets for parking. I've never been to a hotel lacking an: Ice machine, front desk. This seems to be what 'the bright hotel' thrives off of. This dump ruined what could have been a great first time out of town post cancer for my wife. Instead they make a giant bait and switch via social media. While there if you have any complaints 'the bright hotel' will assume no responsibility and blame it on the property owner. It took 4 emails threatening to report them until i found out the real owners' company name. Never again. These con artists took something nice and made it a dump.
