Bought my son a watch for Christmas. A Timex, expandable band type. He has rather small wrists. We went to 2 other jewelry stores and were told it was impossible to take links out of that type of band by both of them. I have used Vella's Jewelry store for years. I finally get to use the phrase "I've used them for over 2 decades.". I actually started taking my jewelry to Vella's in my early 20s and I'm 46 now. They have always done quality work on my items. I have learned to listened to what Ron recommends. He will do whatever I ask but on occasion he has explained to me why I should go a different route. When I was younger i didn't always listen. Repairs done a certain way I wanted didn't always hold up as well. He may have recommended a different setting style to hold a stone. i've had 2 rings made and 2 rings bought at vella's! the 1 was a 1.5 carat diamond ring n platinum was hand made and it's gorgeous!!! i couldn't have ever got the flawless diamond and quality and workmanship that i got from them anywhere else in the quality or the price!! i love my ring!!! i also got a hand made buckle ring in 10 kt yellow gold. which was absolutely gorgeous also!!! that no one could have made like it nor made it so unique and perfect plus as reasonably priced as ron did for me!!! then i had two wedding bands in 10 kt white gold bought from ron and i'm sooo happy with how gorgeous they are!!! im a customer for life!!! ron and staff has treated me with the utmost respect and like family and thats what i love about vella jewelers!!! read more

Unbelievable service! From the first time I walked in his lil yellow store, I knew Ron would be my jeweler for life- he has repaired, sized, reset stones for me, you name it! He even somehow manage to find a replacement for a square antique ruby accent that had fallen out over the years! I thought it was for sure a lost cause! We took a ring to Vella's as they told us they could repair it while we waited. Some of the prongs holding the stones were bent and they were catching on my gf's clothes and skin. They repaired the ring perfectly and did it for a FRACTION of the cost of the other jeweler who said they fixed it after keeping it for 2 weeks. They don't have the pieces the major jewelry stores have but they make their own stuff and it is very nice - we will be returning. read more

I have had rings sized at a very reasonable price. Even had my rings permanently joined. Thought I might send the husband there for Valentines. I like them because they are not a big chain store.
