Wow! I cannot say how thankful and touched I am by the service "Bo" gave me! I call him Mr. Atkins. He looked at a watch that belonged to my grandmother. It was not in working order when it was given to me. It was one of three pieces that my grandmother, the wife of a coal miner who raised six children, ever owned. It was very important to me. He had been recommended to me by Fred Meyer Jewelers not long after I moved here and had no idea where to take it. Mr. Atkins told me that it would take time to find the parts, if he could find what was needed. I left it with him 15 months ago. He was very honest and very up front with me. We stayed in contact every few months. I admit that after a while I began to wonder if the watch could be fixed, but it wasn't because Mr. Atkins made me feel uneasy. He was kind to us in his shop (which does NOT smell of parrot poop! (Really? You must know! Either your Mama didn't raise you right or you weren't paying attention when manners were being taught!) He was happy to keep me updated on the watch. He called me last Saturday to tell me that the watch was repaired and ready to pick up. He even offered to stay after hours if I wanted to come in right then to get it. I was cooking supper and told him I would be in today. I arrived at the shop and he brought this lovely piece of history out ticking like a heart and in beautiful shape! I was so excited I could hardly contain myself! His price was fair and he went over all of the specs on the watch. He told me things I could never have known without him. I will return to him with my business and recommend others to him. Though he is doing just fine without my recommendations as he is renowned for his watchmaking talents. Perhaps those of you who have judged him so harshly are looking to get something for nothing. I have encountered so many like this since I moved here. His talent is rare and he works hard and should be paid for it. Just like any of you who work and expect a paycheck. I've also discovered that there are a lot of malcontents who DON'T work but get a check from the government--not because they CAN'T work, but because they WON'T! I am shocked that another reviewer could "look" at a person and instantly decide that they could afford a Rolex! Wow! Take that talent to the gas station and get some lottery tickets because you must surely know how to pick the "winners"! Then YOU can go get a Rolex of your own and leave Mr. Atkins alone! I must add that I am not related to nor do I work for Four Winds, Mr. Atkins, or anyone else who may be affiliated with his fine establishment. I just have good old fashioned values and a mind for fairness with regard to talent and payment for services rendered so expertly. read more

This is my favorite jewelry store and it has by far the best watchmaker in Knoxville. This is the only store I trust to handle my watches because of the highly specialized level of watch expertise here. I have had watches repaired and made like new at Four Winds when no other store in Knoxville even had a clue how to do the work my timepieces needed. My husband just got one of his favorite timepieces cleaned and repaired here a month ago and it's running perfectly again, he's very impressed with the service. The work here is done right the first time and it is such a relief to my husband and I to have that confidence. The prices are very reasonable and everything is explained up front. Everyone here is always very pleasant and friendly and makes sure to explain what we need to know every time. I also am a huge fan of the interior. There are so many beautiful things to look at. There are a lot of nice rich tones and greens, and very lovely tapestries on the walls, and the store smells incredibly good. This is such a fantastic store. The service here is the best at any watch/clock store I have ever visited. The watchmaker is an expert at his craft and was able to repair my great grandmothers old German clock after I had been told years ago it was not able to be fixed back in FL. He was able to make a piece that had been broken and due to the age of the antique could not be purchased anywhere. Now my beautiful clock runs perfectly for the first time in 20 years! I just cant say enough about how great this store is. I get to interact with a real business owner who in my experience always have done a great job. They have an incredibly interesting selection of jewelry and I find it quite mesmerizing to look around, very different then the cookie cutter stuff that a lot of stores I have been in have. I inherited an omega and a Hamilton wristwatch and an old German pocket watch from my grandfather. All three were in need of cleaning and restoration. I took those watches to every jewelry store I could find in west Knoxville for pricing on repair. Every store wanted to send the watches out. The estimates were sky high. A friend at work told me about Bo at Four Winds Jewelry. She works for the UT athletic department and said that all of the coaches and administration in her office always use him. She said even Pat Summit wouldn't let anyone touch her watches but Bo. I took the watches to him and he was able to clean and service both wristwatches in the store for much less money then to have them sent out. They run great. The old pocket watch needed several parts made and he made them right in his store on a lathe. It too runs great and I am very impressed. I intend to give the watches to my sons for Christmas. Bo is a liar and not trustworhty. I had taken my watch to this store for the past 15 years when it would stop working and Bo always got it fixed. He told me that at some point I would need to put a new movement in it. I took the watch back when it was having problems and told him to put the new movement in it. He said it would take 4-6 weeks as he had to send off for the movement. I paid for the new movement and the watch worked for 10 mos and quit. When I took it back, Bo said I needed a new movement. - What! I told him he just put one in and he said he didn't, he had just cleaned it and now I needed the new movement. I have a receipt that states (in Bo's handwriting), New Movement. When you take your watch to be repaired, you have to trust that the repair was done as promised and charged for. I paid for a new movement and obviously didn't get one. What kind of person runs his business this way!? Don't trust this person/business! read more

I have been shopping around for a good deal on a rolex for a few years. I found this place and decided to stop in and see what I could find. I am really glad that I came in here because I ended up paying 700 dollars less then the next cheapest price I found anywhere. I wanted a specialty dial, so I already knew it would need to be ordered. I talked different options over with the owner and I ordered my watch. It was in store in four days! Its exactly what I was wanting and I feel like the price was very reasonable. This store can special order all kinds of watches. I know from going around town and shopping at different stores that this one has a better selection available with better prices too. I am really pleased with the rolex I bought here. It runs great, looks good, and the price was agreeable to my wallet. I also had my tag serviced here. I will continue to be a repeat customer for sure. read more

Four Winds Jewelry is my go to store for all things watch and jewelry related. I have been a customer here since 1995. This business has always treated me very well. The owner is courteous and honest, he always has taken the time to help me find what I'm looking for and explained the different options I had for repair work. I have brought in more then one watch over the years when I thought it was surely done for and Bo worked his magic and got it running like new. The prices are very reasonable. I am impressed with how quick the work is always completed. Almost every job I've ever had done here has been completed much quicker then then I was expecting. I came to Four Winds Jewelry this August because my TAG watch was not keeping time. It got exposed to water this summer at the beach, which I wasn't initially aware of. It was fairly damaged, but Bo was able to fix it up like new. The price was awesome (a fraction of other options). I trust Bo and feel like he is a really great person to know. It would cost over double to send to the factory, not to mention Bo is doing the work in store and your watch doesn't ever leave the premises. All the other stores that I know of in Knoxville either do not do actual watch repair or they send the watches to a third party not located anywhere near their stores. Pros: Good value for the price, great and fast service, really nice professionally trained watchmaker, convenient on Kingston pike. I can't think of any cons, I will be a return customer for sure. read more

I really like this jewelry store. I needed several of my rings re-sized and a few repairs made to one of my favorite necklaces. I came in a few weeks ago with all my jewelry and the jeweler looked at it all for me. He explained how the resizing process works and how he would fix my necklace and the prices it would all cost. He sized my fingers to get the proper measurements of how big he needed to make my rings to fit, and I received a ticket itemizing all the work I was having done and the prices. Yesterday I picked up all of my repairs and they are perfect. I can now wear my favorite emerald, I'm just so pleased. The necklace clasp is now working like when I first got it again and everything looks so shiny because he professionally cleaned it too. Terrible service! "Bo", the owner is very rude! Promised Rolex repair in 2-4mos. Actually got my Rolex back today (8/13/11) after dropping it of in January. Offered to speed up my repair but would triple the price! When calling to check on how much longer it would be "Bo" s reply started with "let me tell you something right now..." and with rude language and tone reminded me over and over how much his service is in demand. In July I asked him to just forget it and return my watch and I would pay him for his trouble, he told me it was in pieces and had been "pre-cleaned"! When I actually picked up my watch I was told that a copy of the repair order and my claim ticket were the property of the store and I could not have a copy! Save yourself the nightmare and do business elsewhere. It's amazing this character is still in business! read more

My watch was needing some work done when a colleague told me about this store. Four Winds Jewelry is a fair distance from where I live but I wanted to try this place out anyway because all the good reviews I was hearing. (If I didn't have to drive so far to get here it would be a five star rating.) I brought my watch in and we talked about what was happening and why, and the services that I needed to make it run correctly again. I had never had this watch serviced before and knew it was long overdue. I was really impressed with the prices here, especially for all the complex work my watch required. The service was really great here and my watch is running like a charm. I even came back recently on a trip to Knoxville and purchased a new Bulova, it was a great deal and I love it. I have dealt with Four Winds Jewelry several times, and each time I was treated with courtesy and excellent advice and service. I was referred to this store by a lawyer who collects rare watches. A very expensive watch was repaired to my satisfaction. I was referred to another expert for repairing a clock. Batteries were replaced in two Omega watches that could not be handled elsewhere because they have an unusual casing. I also was advised that a Swiss watch I had inherited was not worth as much as I had thought and thus not worth repairing. Even though I'm allergic to dogs, I like the large dog in the shop---keeping a watchful eye on things. I think the negative review that is posted about this store is very unfair. This is the most reasonably priced, high quality watch repair store I have found in my 50 years for wearing a watch daily and owning dozens of watches over the years. This is the only watchmaker in Knoxville left! The job always gets done right and is done on time. I have always been treated with respect and honesty here. I even bought a Rolex from Four Winds Jewelry not long ago but I have been a customer for over 10 years now. I like the location on South Northshore because its right on my daily commute route, so it is easy to stop in an get a battery changed whenever I need one in a watch for myself or family. I must disagree with the previous rating... i have used this store a couple times. He has never been unfriendly. He is the only one we could find in Knoxville to replace the battery on my Concord Saratoga watch instead of sending it to the manufactuer. We used him again today. The bracelet on my watch was broken. The manufactuer said it could not be fixed because it was 27 years old but they would gladly give me a 50% discount off another 10,000 watch...we sent it to New York, and also Ohio, no luck. Stopped in today and he said, let me look at it for awhile and see if I can come up with something...by the time we pulled into our driveway in Lenoir City, he called and said, I fixed it!! read more

The watchmaker here is the real deal and knows his craft. He's really knowledgeable and nice. I just found this store last week in West Knoxville and I'm so glad I did. My Tag was in need of a new battery. I stopped in and the watchmaker was very friendly. He talked with me about watches for a minute and took my watch right back and did the job. I was in and out quickly and the price was fair. I don't just let anyone touch my watches. It important to me that the work is done by a professional watchmaker. Got my wife a Valentine's day necklace and pair of earrings here. She loves them. The selection to choose from is diverse and really impressive. There are glamorous and elegant looking pieces here unlike the usual same couple styles that I kept finding in other stores. They always have something one of a kind and interesting. This is one of my favorite shops in Knoxville, they are locally owned and the prices are very fair. The watch I wear everyday, a Rolex presidential came from here about a year ago. The job is always done right here. I just had my Rolex repaired by Bo a month ago and it is running perfectly now. A few years ago I got water in my Tag at the beach and he worked quick to save my other watch back then too. The prices are always the best I can find and I appreciate how honest he is. I have been a customer here for around 10 years. I always get my watch batteries changed at Four Winds too and it is usually able to be done while I wait. Very convenient location.
