At first, I was happy they showed up on time and were friendly but then it all went down hill. I could hear them packing up my room and throwing things in boxes. All my jewelry was dumped into a box and I heard some land on my floor. As the move went on they would find an earring and be like "this was on the floor..." I wonder how it got there? THIS IS WHEN IT WENT HORRIBLE- When we got to the storage unit the storage unit agent said to the moving people "do you want to see the unit before you move the items? To see if everything will fit?" I deferred this question to the "professionals" and they said "No we don't need to see it everything will fit." A few hours later they tell me that they can't fit everything and that my desk has got to go... they basically just said "sorry your desk won't fit, we have to take it" and then they charged me to take my desk away!! (That I'm sure they sold for money) then they took my clothes out of the wardrobe boxes that I paid for and laid them across all my stuff in the unit because the boxes wouldn't fit! I hired a different company to move my items out of storage and they said this was a horrible move and they have never seen companies just lay items and clothes all over a unit. Used for a cross-country move from NYC to LA. Not very many things - mostly boxes, queen mattress, bar table, and a few other things. Only 200 cubic feet. Long story short - this company is terrible at communication, will flat out ignore emails, gives unrealistic 'expected delivery times,' outsources long-distance moves, and will wait until they have moves going to stops en route. MOVE DATE: Weds May 25th QUOTED AVERAGE MOVE TIME TO LOS ANGELES: 7 - 9 days AGREED PREFERRED DELIVERY DATE: Thurs June 2nd ACTUAL DELIVERY DATE: Tues June 14th TOTAL TIME: 21 DAYS. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Prior to this - I had contacted the company on several occasions inquiring about how long it would take for my belongings to reach Los Angeles from NYC. They said their window was 'three to nineteen days total' - but, 'the average time is 7- 9 days to reach Los Angeles.' They also advised while I could not pick a specific date, I could place a 'preferred date' and they would 'do everything they could to hit the target date.' PREFERRED DELIVERY DATE: Thurs June 2nd or Fri June 3rd. I was advised this was feasible, as it was 8-9 days from the pick up. Awesome. Great. Expecting stuff on June 2nd / 3rd - perfect for my move in ... ... Then - RADIO SILENCE from Velocity. Did not hear anything from Velocity. Finally I call them on Friday June 3rd, inquiring about the whereabouts of my belongings. They said 'oh, the driver hasn't contacted you yet?' Sounding surprised. Was placed on a 3 minute hold. Was then told 'hun, you're gonna have to call us back on Monday when we get in contact with your driver ...' That Sunday, June 5th, I get an email - no message - just the subject: Estimated Delivery Date: 06/12/2016 - 06/16/2016. OUTRAGED - I sent an email response the next day, Monday, June 6th ... That email never was responded to. Customer service and communication absolutely abysmal with this company. Finally, Thursday, June 9 - I receive a call from the driver. HE'S IN TEXAS. Trying to keep my cool - I don't take it out on this driver cause lord knows it probably isn't his fault. He advises he won't reach California until Monday or Tuesday. ACTUAL DELIVERY DATE - Tuesday, June 14th. **** Driver drove a large, rented UHAUL all the way across the country. They made stops in Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, and California (confirmed by the driver). They outsourced the move to another company. My gut tells me Velocity waiting until they had a few more moves along the way before actually sending out my things - which can explain the excessive time - all 200 cubic feet of my belongings - took to arrive. **** **** LOOK AT THE EXTERNAL DAMAGE TO THE BOXES. Thank goodness I wasn't moving large amounts of furniture or anything super valuable - these boxes were MANGLED upon arrival. They were pristine and brand new when picked up. Also, the drawer of my TV stand was absolutely ruined and the driver did everything he could to 'repair' it - see all the pics **** Only reason why they're getting 2 stars is because the three guys who moved me out of my NYC apartment, and the two guys who did the delivery here in LA were very nice, courteous, and hard working. I contracted with International Van Lines but after signing the contract, I found them very difficult to respond to my phone calls. 2 days before the day I was to move, I was contacted by Velocity Moving and Storage that they would be handling the actual move. I was very concerned that the job was subcontracted out, but my fault for not getting that information before I signed the contract. I was moving from PA to FL but needed to put my furniture in storage with Velocity for 9 months. I packed most of my stuff my myself with the exception of mirrors and art work. The 3 guys who came to pack up were very courteous and hard working. They did not come until about 1 and left at about 7. I was concerned that insects might get into my stuff in storage. I found Velocity to be very responsive to my phone calls when I had a question. The first month in storage was free. My second month I was charged more for storage than my contract indicated. I called Velocity and they corrected the amount. I had 700 cubic feet of storage for $381 per month. I sent the form out indicating the first day they could deliver my furniture, Feb. 22, 2023. They called and said that they could deliver on Feb. 26. Unfortunately, my condo does not allow Sat. deliveries so it was postponed until the following week. I was very concerned about breakage, infestation, et. Not one item was broken. However, there was a bit of water damage on a hassock. I think that my Keurik leaked out so I am not sure if I caused the issue. By the way, I did not know how to get the internal water out of my coffee maker, but it was empty after the move. I did not pack anything food products, spices, etc. because I knew that my stuff would be in storage. In conclusion, after all of the horror stories I read, I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome of my move. Long distance move from NYC to Seattle. Booked through "Unpakt". TL,DR: Beware. Shady. Lack of follow-through. Surprise upcharges. Gives late estimation of delivery. Wrong estimate too. Less than 24 hour notice for move delivery. Staff give different info each time I call. Have lots of documentation & emails if you need proof. Including a video. Still working on a resolution. First, the good: - Got my items packed up and delivered. Nice team. Ok, the bad: - Upcharges: my inventory list quoted had over 50 items. My total inventory was 23 items. My movers put into the "additional services" section additional "2 small boxes" which were ALREADY on my list. I pointed it out to him, and also have this on video since I thought it was shady. He just shrugged it off and said it's his job to move and record it, velocity or Unpakt will figure it out - DEFLECTION OF BLAME. Shrugged this off until I was hit with additional charges for things like this today. - Upcharges are NOT due to "incorrect" inventory list. I'll post a photo of my inventory vs. my actual list and show you :). I believe in humanity and ethics, so maybe it's poor training/follow-through administration - but they do not make this easy. Poorly organized moves. - Moving: We acknowledged no weekend deliveries several times. It's on email too. Got 24 hours notice - weekend delivery. I had to work it out w/my Condo association, but it inconvenienced everyone. To be fair, Unpakt stepped in and told Velocity to accomodate since it was on record. If it was not on record, due to poor documentation (clearly) on their side, I doubt they would've even had discussed this. - Paid for: Unpackaging. Ultimately, because it did end up being delivered on weekend and it was rushed. Nothing was unpackaged other than taking off the blankets for my desk & bookcase. I wouldn't care so much about this, but they charged me more for "additional services" so now I'm really upset. - Poor management/teamwork: Document everything yourself. They clearly don't and you speak to one person who confirms something, and no one else knows. It happened w/my delivery date, my move-in, the inventory list, and so on. - No accountability/ownership: Call the help line: "let me talk to dispatch", call dispatch: "we don't know, call help line", bring up issues with move-inventory list and movers: "We don't know. We're just movers. They do everything else." Talk to the people actually moving your things: "we don't work for Velocity or Unpakt. We never heard this rule". - Your movers to pick up are NOT the ones who move your things. They're contracted out. Poor communication from them to the actual movers = loss of expectations and everything that was agreed upon. - Movers: I was already going to give tip, but in the middle of their move, they come to me, and show my the contract not for the contract, but pointing at the tip note. Very upfront way asking for tip because they can't say it, but they can point to it? Just say it then. Also, phone says tip 5-7% on long-distance move. Then during move, movers ask for 10-15% for pickup and then drop off. Weird. At the very end, a nice upcharge email saying I'm being charged for additional items. I called 4 companies for a long distance moving quote. Velocity was the lowest of the 3, which concerned me, so prior to booking I went over my inventory list for a second time in great detail with Maria, who assured me that these unhappy reviews on Yelp were from people who misrepresented their inventory list. She urged me to call back up to the day before to confirm my list; I did. Prior to booking, I also confirmed with Maria that Velocity was the mover for the entire move - no second party - and said that it was. I also confirmed that I could use a credit card, which she said I could for a 4% charge. The gentlemen who showed up to move me were very kind and careful. I balked at the $396 charge for boxes, which seemed high considering all my belongings were already boxed. (Also, my inventory list included a large screen TV and 2 large mirrors and I was told these would be wrapped and packed. The movers strongly suggested putting these in $50 boxes, which I did agree to because they made me very nervous about potential damage.) Once all my belonging were in the van, I was informed that my cost was $2096.50 - $975 more than quoted. They said "my pieces were big." Again, I had exactly what was on my inventory list. I agreed to the cost. I used a credit card to pay and they waived the 4% fee. I tipped them on the revised cost of the move. They left. 3 hours later, I received a call from Velocity saying the foreman had made a mistake in his math and that I actually owed $2,044 in additional costs. After several emails and phone calls back and forth Velocity agreed to honor the cost that was agreed to in my apartment, which, of course, had both of our signatures on it. (Again, this cost was already $975 more than quoted although my actual inventory list matched what I had provided Velocity.) They also kept insisting I pay the final balance with cash or a MO. 2 movers arrived with my belongings 4 days after the move. They called that morning to say they'd arrive between 2 & 3; they later called back to say it would be between 4 & 5. They finally arrived at 9pm (they said their truck had broken down and they'd had to wait for a new one) but didn't start unloading until 9:30 because they spent 30 minutes in a truck in my driveway on the phone with the BROKER (not Velocity as promised) trying to confirm that I had, in fact, paid. (Earlier in the day I called and used a credit card to pay the balance of the move with a 4% fee). The movers were nice but not nearly as careful as the team in NYC. (I found some screws that did not go into my bed that were obviously supposed to.) They also were unwilling to bring 2 china cabinets upstairs, even though my quote with Velocity clearly specified that I was moving into a 3-floor home. (I will now have to pay local movers to do this.) (I did go back and look at my original quote which says "Carry of items up to 75 feet from your residence to or from the truck. Carry of items up to the first flight of stairs (7 steps)." So while I may have been in error here, it's odd that I repeated on the phone twice that my items were being moved into a 3-floor home and wasn't told, sorry, we won't bring them upstairs, right? I thought there was a way to upload pictures (?) and I would have liked to include photos of severe damage to a mirror box (that I paid $50 for) as well as a damaged LV box that had been in a box that had been "repacked" into 2 boxes. This box was full of pretty nice clothes and costume jewelry. In one of the pics of the repacked box you can see a Moncler coat that has tape on the fur collar. I haven't gotten around to checking all the jewelry yet. The movers did not go through the inventory list with me, and as I was unable to locate one of my boxes for several days, I emailed Velocity and got an email back that said: Hello, We will look into it and advise in the next days. Best regards, Customer Service. This was my mistake; I did find the box. But this is reflective of the level of customer service you can expect from Velocity if you're missing something! read more

We moved from NY to NC and the whole experience from start to finish was absolutely flawless. NY team - Sims, Pier and another great guy I didn't get his name. NC team - Pier (same guy, did the drive), Javier. All of them where professional and friendly. The Velocity team was on time and quick with the work. The pickup team also packed everything for us, needles to say, the delivery was smooth with no missing or broken stuff. Before the actual moving date, every phone call was greeted quickly with a friendly support person. My move from NJ to KC took three weeks, and when my stuff finally arrived not only was my favorite piece of furniture BROKEN beyond repair; but I also am missing two items and have a box that belongs to someone else. The crew did a really wonderful job with our move. From consultation to the actual move date, it was pretty seamless. It was really hot the day of the move and the crew was able to get move everything out in a very timely fashion. A big shoutout to Scott who pretty much made our move as easy as possible from Brooklyn NY to NC. Our stuff (including a king mattress and a 55" screen TV) were damage free and everything arrived as scheduled. Prices are also really reasonable. one of the worst company there is, they give you one price, then once all your belonging is on the truck they force you to pay them double, then they say "yo gotta tip man, or else there we cant guarantee your stuff would be safe" they ask 30% of the total for tip. Best part is they make you pay them upfront before delivering my boxes, they know that most of the boxes was damage, so they want to get their money before they bail on you. I put my gaming consoles(switch, ps4, xbox one s) in a box labeled as electronics, guess what happen to the content in the box? you guessed it went missing, the only thing was left was some games and cables. When I asked them about it, they said "we don't know what happen, you must of misplaced it." They quoted me 2k to move, and I ended up paying almost 6k including all the "tips" I had to pay. HORRIBLE COMPANY, HORRIBLE SERVICE, AND THEY STEAL FROM YOU! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! also when their insurance policy is super limited, and good luck getting hold of an agent, you wait 4 hours for a agent then, they said:" yeah no we won't cover that, you don't have proof that they damage it, here's what we can do for you. we will send you a claim form it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive, then fill it out, we maybe able to compensate you for 80 dollars worth." 2 weeks later I got a mail from them saying we denied your claim due to insufficient evidence of damage cause by the agent. read more

The movers in NY were pretty quick and very nice. However, the company they contracted in California were not the best. They showed up with an 18 wheeler and pretty much had determined they weren't going to deliver my stuff (even though they could have). They complained about how they couldn't park the truck there. They came the next day and brought a smaller U haul and of course charged me $200 extra dollars. There were multiple things that were broken when they delivered like my tv, mirror, picture frames, coffee table leg. The price though for moving a studio from Ny to SF was very good. read more

Don't trust Velocity Moving Co. They stole jewelry from our jewelry box. Velocity Moving was hired by International Van Lines that I paid to arrange the move across the country. July 31st I received email notice from IVL that movers would be there as scheduled Aug 2 between 9 and 1PM. Aug. 2 1:15 PM I called the designated coordinator to find out where movers were. After a series of phone calls I find out that Velocity Moving decided to pick up on Aug 3. They were given 2 dates and they picked Aug. 3. Aug 3 was supposed to be a backup date in case of problems, weather, whatever according to IVL. I was never informed that the 'backup' date was selected. Since my wife and I were driving across country we had reservations at 8 different hotels that we now had to change because Velocity Moving picked Aug 3rd to pick up. After I put a deposit with IVL I did change the inventory of furniture and boxes to be moved. So when Velocity Movers did show up they did NOT have the updated inventory list. As a result, they did not have a large enough truck to handle my inventory. They did manage to call another truck nearby to handle the excess. So off they went. The estimate was 14-21 days for the truck to arrive in Bellevue. I found a townhouse to rent so I had to call Aug 23rd to update the destination. I was informed that it would be no problem and the delivery would be between 24th and 27th. Movers called on 25th with the original address that I had to correct. Unloading went as expected except having to pay extra because 18-wheeler couldn't get near townhouse that I still think they could have done. So after 2 weeks of sorting and unpacking my wife and I had to return to the east coast for a memorial life celebration of her father that passed away during the peak of pandemic. We opened her 4-foot jewelry wall cabinet to find that it had been opened and jewelry was missing. Diamond earrings, diamond bracelet that her father gave her just before his passing and numerous other valuable jewelry. There was a lot of jewelry in cabinet so it wasn't emptied but little velvet earring boxes were gone. Obviously, they didn't fall out during the move. Contacted IVL and the only thing they could say is we can't guarantee valuables and to contact the police. I sort of expected item or box to get lost never expected container to be opened and items stolen. Terrible experience. read more

Having accepted the insurance payout that THEIR insurance company offered, I mailed the insurance papers to the claim management people who sent it to Velocity on July 28th. In 3 days it will be 3 months and still no remittance of the check. Having called and emailed them, they told my husband today they had to search for the claim paperwork. Of course he was frustrated and that came across on the phone call but when I have been waiting 3 months for money you owe me, it can be excused. How about instead of quoting cliches at me about forgiveness you give me the money you owe me? If we could we would give it -5 stars ... read below to see why you should avoid at all costs. There are good movers in the city, Velocity isn't it. We used Velocity for moving out and storing our belongings; we chose them based on cost, and regret heavily. Things were a bit odd from the start and we should have not disregard them. .....Storage..... 1. They will do almost anything to get your business and as soon as you agree things start to change for worse. We were told initially that the first month would be free in the initial quoting only to find out later that it was a 'typo' and they meant fee not free. 2. We were promised ACed storage unit - from the damage of our belonging I can guarantee it was all but air conditioned. 3. We informed the sales rep that we had a lot of belongings for 1 bedroom- he said it is not a problem and were quoted me for a large unit saying that if we will require more storage, they will provide bigger unit at no additional cost. Needless to say, the fee went up almost 40%. ....Moving..... 4. We can't complain about the crew that showed up. We both helped. It was quite a shock though to find out that we were being charged big $ for tape and boxes they used. Had I known I would have purchased at Staples or somewhere for a fraction of the cost. 5. The only two complaints about the crew is that the driver got a parking ticket and pressured us to pay- which we ultimately did. 6. This continued until it came time for a tip. The leader of the moving crew was very unprofessional requesting more tip $ for the crew, even though we were giving a 20% cash tip for the moving portion --- the crew leader was saying that we should be tipping based on the projected costs of the moving PLUS the storage fee. Sorry, no. And asking 10 times won't help your case. 7. We were told we would get a phone call after they arrived in Bronx and unpacked- we didn't. We were informed our belongings would be in air conditioned room, all together, and that we, if we chose, could chose another company to make be from storage to our new place. ...Pickup from Storage.... 8. In the end, a large number of our belongings were either damaged, contaminated or both. Early 20th century (antique??) furniture was scratched, 2 boxes were missing (and could not be accounted for), there was moisture damage (no a/c!), rodents (most likely RAT) feces in a few of the boxes and more. 9. It was almost impossible to coordinate to get out stuff from storage while using our company. Dealing with Oliver, the manager (who behaved in a very sexist way) was a very unreasonable man, and he tried to do everything possible to ensure that Velocity would be moving our stuff back (at over twice the fee) as compared to the company we ended up using. In the end, we are still trying to get $ back for our damages - and it is over 6 months later! It is a nightmare that I hope all of you avoid!!! read more

I have never had a better moving experience. Will and Moses were extremely friendly and warm, very efficient, and just fun to be around. My wife and I moved from New York to Michigan and we were stressed and anxious about moving our valuables such a long distance. The quality of service from Velocity was second to none - one wine glass was broken out of 65+ boxes of belongings, a peloton and many more expensive large items. Will and Moses were here for delivery on time, maintained a level of professionalism and transparency that I have never experienced in a move before. I would highly recommend Velocity - sometimes the customer service line is tough to get ahold of and there were some times of uncertainty on our delivery date but I can't do anything but award 5 stars when it's all said and done. My fiance and I moved from D.C. to NYC yesterday, and Velocity was amazing! Jarrett and his team (John and Ayel) were incredible professional, efficient, and effective. At the outset, I booked with Velocity because they said they could make the move in one day, whereas many competitors could only do an overnight move. However, when the company called to confirm my move, they suggested that it be done in two days. I explained that same-day delivery was in the contract, and called back to speak with Stacy, who had drawn up the contract originally. Stacy set things right and soon I got a call from Jarrett, who explained that the move would happen in one day. They drove through the night to make it to our place in DC, and loaded our entire apartment into the truck carefully and quickly. They took apart the bed, and reassembled it upon delivery. The team worked very well together on the NY end, as well, and everything was up and in our apartment before we thought it was possible. I honestly can't imagine a better moving experience: Jarrett was friendly, professional, and explained how everything would work. All of our belonging arrived safely, and they made sure to wrap the furniture carefully so that nothing was harmed. I recently hired Velocity to assist me with my move from the West Village to the Upper East Side. I am extremely happy with my choice for two main reasons: 1: the price was very fair and actually better than competitors 2: the movers were very professional, hard working and friendly. The movers showed up on time and packed up my apartment very quickly. Even though they packed quickly, they were very diligent and carefully wrapped all items. Importantly, no items were scratched or damaged during my move. When the movers arrived at my new apartment, there was no parking in front of my building, so they had to park down the street. They proceeded in a professional manner without complaining or charging extra for this additional distance. To expedite the process, they even called for additional movers to assist them at no additional charge to me. Elli ran the moving process. he was professional and easy to work with. I was lied to from the beginning. I did not choose Velocity Moving and Storage. I chose International Van Lines. They subcontracted out to Velocity (which is a totally inappropriate name for this company, as they are anything but fast). I keep getting the runaround. Bottom line: I still do not have my belongings and it has been three weeks. First they said, contractually, they had to get it to me in 21 days. Twenty-one days have come and gone. Now they are telling me that it is 21 business days. That takes me up to the day before Thanksgiving. Quick, hard-working and reasonably priced, I am so happy with how it worked out! Stacy has been working with me since I have been planning this move in February. He has been extremely patient: I changed my move date three times and initially wanted to take a lot more items, but as I cleaned up, my inventory got a lot smaller. The final phone estimate, in person estimate and the total costs were all within the same range. Furthermore, he actually had some positive things to say about a competing company, but it was exactly that level of self confident professionalism which made me decide to go with Velocity. Like the other Yelpers have said, these guys are experts. Thanks to Scott, Derek and Gabi, everything arrived in perfect shape. I overheard the team when they were loading the truck, discussing how "worried" they were about the position of something and took the time to find the safest place for my standing mirror. Mirror mission accomplished! Spinet piano? No problem. Glassware? Nothing broken. They even taped and packed some loose items on moving day. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I've moved with them twice and I like them. They are nice people and reasonable priced. Make sure you estimate properly as with all movers and pack fully. I have used them twice - once they packed and moved me and once they moved only (with a bit of packing since I am never completely 100% packed and they like everything in a box. They are careful with furniture and are overall nice people. They give more movers per hour than other companies. read more

Buyer beware! Please read unless you are ok with throwing $4,000 down the drain. I hired Velocity to move me from New York City to San Antonio, TX. When my furniture arrived, NEARLY EVERY PIECE sustained damage, including a pair of expensive mirrored tables I specifically identified to them as being fragile and needing extra attention, and which I paid extra for them to pack, stupidly thinking they were experts of any kind. When the drop-off team arrived, much of the furniture came off the truck without any protection whatsoever, and what protection did exist looked badly beat up and damaged. Some examples besides the now shattered mirrored table are a stainless steel table that had the legs bent in somehow, a chair that the seat had become completely detached from, solid brass tables that had deep scratches on the surfaces, and a velvet couch that looked like it had been burned (not a comprehensive list by the way). This is where it gets really bad--after dropping off a bunch of clearly damaged furniture, they tried to pressure me to sign a document stating that I had received the shipment, examined it, and agreed it looked good! They even had me talk to their boss twice who tried to convince me I should sign it even though the furniture was clearly not fine. Of course I immediately called Velocity and was told the owner Oliver would like to make this right and they would let me know the details of that. You can guess what happened next--nothing. Oliver denies responsibility and doesn't want to do anything to help. Thank god I got the full loss coverage or I'd probably have to file a formal lawsuit to get a dime back. Please be careful, there are better movers out there. read more

I hired Velocity to help me with my small move. I only had less than 20 boxes and no furniture, and Velocity had the most reasonable prices. I spoke to Sharon on the phone and she was courteous and very helpful, and also offered to send me 20 boxes for $10. On the day of the move, Eli (the head mover) called me to tell me he had already arrived at 11am, but I was informed that they would only come at 12pm so I was still in the midst of packing. He patiently waited and later came up at 12 to help me finish sealing the boxes. The group of 3 movers were extremely efficient and cleared the apartment in less than 10 minutes. None of my items were damaged in the move. I'll definitely be using Velocity when I move again. read more

Did a great job moving me to California recently. Was a complicated move bc the building in Manhattan was very picky about the timing and the amount of things to be moved. All went smoothly and we received no flack from the management of the building which was a relief. Everything arrived in San Francisco in great shape and even though we live on a hilly street they got the stuff to us without much difficulty. IF I COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY ZERO STARS I WOULD. Please avoid this company. I did not hire this company, I hired International Van Lines to do my cross-country move. At the last minute, I was surprised to learn they assigned the job to Velocity. Velocity showed up late, staff were rude, unprepared, unmotivated, they packed negligently, just throwing stuff in boxes. They left a piece of furniture behind because they weren't prepared or experienced enough to move it. I had to hire another company to deal with it. Velocity added extra weight charges, they added "shuttle" fees, furniture was scratched up, TVs broken, monitors broken, etc. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! Very, very low quality moving company. read more

I booked a large interstate move with Velocity from New Jersey to Albuquerque. There were many unpleasant things I discovered about Velocity during my move. First of all, the movers are very pushy about tipping - and every little thing they do, they are always letting you know how they are going out of their way and you should 'make up when tipping' for it - to the point of making me uncomfortable. I understand that the movers expect to be tipped, but you don't have to remind me that every step of the way! Second, the movers don't bring with them any kind of packing supplies when they come. If you have anything that's not boxed up - well, good luck getting it transported! If you ask them, they will state an exorbitant, unrealistic amount for boxing it up. I had a few things that I didn't put in boxes and I ended up moving them myself in my car. Third, they ignore all your instructions. If you have any expensive or nice stuff, there's very little assurance it will be packed and delivered properly. I had a large plasma TV that I wanted crated (and I paid for it). When I saw the movers putting the TV in a flimsy picture crate ( they didn't even bring a TV box), I asked them and the movers explained away that the TV would be 'created at the warehouse'. Guess what? When they delivered the TV, it was still packed in that picture crate, upside down! It was a $3000 TV that had the corners chipped, the stand broken and the TV panel completely ruined. Several other pieces of furniture suffered damages as well. They handled my furniture in the worst possible way - with no care even when the package was clearly marked fragile. The only positive thing is that I had to reschedule the delivery a few times and they were pretty accommodating about it. But I would definitely not hire them ever again. read more
