Extremely thankful for the two movers that are very professional; & hard working. But the Zeromax office, itself, is sketchy. To whomever may be in charge; I see you. The office leaves things out of the furniture quote... I listed ALL of my belongings, including the boxes / bags. They left everything out, except the heavy pieces of furniture, a big mirror and 2 lamps. That way, it's more money on the day they arrive, with the truck, to move your belongings. I had to move things for a whole 14 hour day, after paying & using their services for $700.00 -- Or else I would've been charged for same day add ons $$$. I paid Zeromax $2,500 to move my 1 bedroom apartment from NYC to CA, and used their storage for 2 months while I got settled. Should've been straightforward, but there were problems from the start. Billing issues during storage: They double billed me in the first month (extra ~$200), and then tried to do it again the last month. Both times I only caught it because I was monitoring my credit card transactions closely. They reversed the charges when I called them out, but the fact that it happened twice makes me think it's intentional, not a mistake. The delivery fee scam: The day before delivery, the driver calls saying I need to pay a $500 "shuttle fee" because his truck is too big for my driveway. This was never mentioned when I booked -- I gave them my address upfront, it's just a regular residential house. I pushed back and the fee suddenly dropped to $300. After calling the office, I "negotiated" down to $150 with them supposedly covering the rest. The fact that the price changed three times (500 to 300 to 150) told me everything about how made up this was. The worst part: - They wouldn't put anything in writing - I paid $150 cash and never got a receipt, even though Ron promised to send one later (never came) - A 15 foot truck rental costs like $30/hour. where did $300 come from? My stuff fits in a 15-foot truck, they chose to use an 18-wheeler Their own terms say parking fees are $100-250, not $300 shuttle fees. And if you're doing residential deliveries, needing a smaller truck for the last mile should already be part of your pricing. Pattern of behavior: Between the double billing attempts during storage and the surprise delivery fee with no documentation, there's clearly a pattern here. They seem to bank on customers not paying attention or being too stressed to fight back. Would not use again and wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

This company has disappointed me. Not only do they have no insurance to cover items their movers broke but their lack of care, the owner told me the business doesn't make enough money to cover the damages his movers did to my property. These movers broke almost everything I had by just throwing my stuff literally. Over 1k in damages and try to offer me $500 like the stuff they broke was brought at the flea market. Then try to belittle you and lowball numbers. Then ask you for a positive review after they finally pay you after threatening to sue their small business. This company is had terrible customer service skills and they ruined my move for my children and myself completely. read more

I had a small move in the form of an antique hutch with little structural integrity and was impressed by the resourcefulness and CARE of the moving team. Since the destination was only a few blocks away, I thought it was resourceful for them to suggest wheeling it (inside a large padded box ) on a moving cart rather than putting it in the truck and having to deal with parking issues. However the quality of the move was pretty good. Only damage was something in the back of my couch is poking out a little bit, but it's not broken or anything. They were swift, professional and VERY good at assembly. Wardrobe boxes are provided and we were able to pack them while the 3 movers were protective-wrapping the furniture. They were able to de-mount and mount our tv despite our not so easy walls, as well as all of our furniture (tables, bed, etc). I lived on the 5th floor of my old apartment and I was moving to the 4th floor of a new apartment. These guys are such hard workers! My old apartment had VERY narrow stairs and my furniture is very expensive. Not ONE item was scratched or damaged. The men took apart my bed and my peloton, they put these items back together perfectly and super fast! I had a couch come to my new apartment, the men came here first to carry that couch up for me and put it together! The couch was VERY heavy. I had multiple boxes of China glass and not one item was scratched or broken. I didn't even wrap the glass up because I didn't have time! Really remarkable. Moving is always stressful. Moving with a small baby? Even more stressful. As a parent of a young kid, things can often be unpredictable and last-minute. For our move we needed a company that understood the challenges that moving with a small kid, and Zeromax did that and more. They were able to give us multiple estimates: hourly rate, flat rate, flat rate plus assembly of a king size bed from scratch; 3 movers vs. 4 movers; massive dining table going into the apartment or perhaps into the basement, etc.. The week before the move I spoke with Victor over the phone, making final arrangements. They didn't even request a downpayment, saying that I would just pay the agreed price at the end of the move. They gave me a 9am-10am start time for the day of the move, and the movers arrived at 9am. The day of the move they showed up with 4 men, and they gave us the possibility to do the move with 3 men as originally planned, or with 4 men; hourly rate and flat rate. We opted for the flat rate. Victor and his men were very good: extremely efficient and fast, they wrapped in blankets all the pieces of furniture individually, and took great care with the most fragile items[1]. The whole move took about 2 hours[2], including travel within Brooklyn. I was particularly impresses the way they managed to fit the massive dining table into the new apartment, making it slide vertically very carefully through a very narrow corridor. I worked with the same company for my 2 previous moves, and I didn't have a reason to switch. Except the previous moving company could not provide all 3 different types of insurance certificate my old building required, while Zeromax did. I felt a bit anxious switching moving company, but I was very pleased with Zeromax and would not hesitate to use them again. They took their sweet time cuz they charge a flat rate. They refused to take anything I forgot to list for the estimate (small, not heavy stuff). Then after not moving all my stuff and taking hours and hours, they demanded a 30% tip. The guy who quoted the price said 15-20%. After all this, they pressured me to take a "thumbs-up" photo with them using my phone and tried to write their own Yelp review on my phone. Can't say I'd recommend. Destroyed my furniture!!! The office was very responsive and easy to work with but the actual movers were terrible. I never write reviews for anything but this was AWFUL service. They were so careless with our things that a set of shelves, a dresser, our kitchen table, and my desk all got huge dings/chips/scratches. We packed our boxes really carefully with lots of bubble wrap so there should have been no issue, but as we unpacked we kept finding more damage, like shattered bowls. The movers also used tape to hold things together/in place that ripped off some of the paint upon removal. I got quotes from about 5-6 movers before selecting ZeroMax. They were several hundred more expensive than other quotes, but I thought more $$ = better quality service. Apparently not! I'm really annoyed that we paid for this. read more

They were helpful and took extra steps to protect both my new floors from scratches and my freshly painted walls from any stray marks as they brought everything into the apt.
