I went into this office after a hand/wrist injury to get X-rays. Everyone was friendly. After the x-ray they put a brace on my arm. My arm/wrist was very sore and this brace seemed extremely uncomfortable. After two days of the extreme uncomfortable I realized they had put a right handed brace on my left hand! You would think you would be able to trust them to give you the proper brace! Once I got the left handed brace it made a world of difference. Long story short, I had two extra days of extreme uncomfort because someone couldn't read left from right on the box they took the brace out of. To make it worst the guy putting the brace on me was training someone else. read more

Urgent care?! This place is a joke. Woke up with a lymph node the size of golf ball, went to VelocityCare on 419, and they told me to come back in three hours! What's normal care look like? Save some time and go straight to a real clinic. read more

Making the appointment online was a simple process, and getting checked in was a breeze, with hardly any time spent in the waiting room. I felt listened to and genuinely cared about during the time spent with the NP. I had to get X-rays done, and I was in and out of the radiology room within 10 minutes of being informed that I needed the X-rays. Both prescriptions I was given this visit were sent to my pharmacy immediately, which was greatly appreciated. Most importantly, everyone there was very kind and friendly and made me feel comfortable during the appointment. read more

Do not waste your time if the older male doctor see you on the weekend. I was there twice. If you need an antibiotic, you won't get one. He'll tell you you have a cold. I was told if I got him I wouldn't get anywhere, but I thought it was one person's experience. I've been running a fever, shaking chills, headache and vomiting now. No covid or strep, they did test for that. I have a sinus and ear infection. This is not my first time nor my 10th time. I'm over 60 and I know the process. You will not get good care if you come in for anything requiring an antibiotic if you get one of the men, especially the older one. It's best to suffer through until you can see your family doctor after the weekend. You'll get better advice for free at a pharmacy. read more

I came here to get my sports physical so that I could participate in my first week of tryouts. I ended up sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half, the room FULL of coughing and sick patients with no masks, and no where to sit for the overflow. I was called back to get my vitals taken and all I see are the nurses and doctors just sitting behind the desk area in the back talking and drinking coffee. Maybe do your job? Your waiting room is FULL and people even walked out due to the wait. This is ridiculous. If I am vomiting and sick as a dog, would you really want me to sit in your waiting room for 2 hours? Let me know - thanks. This is the worst service I have ever gotten here and will look into going elsewhere for physicals and medical care. read more

If I could give less than a one star, I would. If you have any other option, do not go to this place. I have had three separate horrible experiences, each worse than the last. This past time a nurse confused my room with someone else's, and told me a test came back positive when it was in fact negative. Then, she said an antibiotic was called in. When I arrived to the pharmacy, they had no record of this. It turned out that she again got my room confused with another's. The staff has NO decorum and is probably the most unprofessional lot of health care workers I have ever encountered. They are beyond slow and you understand why when you're sitting in your patient room. The walls are thin and you can hear them having social hour chatting each other up (loudly) instead of tending to their patients. read more

Nice space and clean but waste of time. Prescribed me an OTC medicine when I specifically told them what had worked for me in the past to clear up the UPI. I came here to feel better, which I don't. Did not come to get charged a co-pay, have insurance charged for a test that we both said is highly unlikely to be positive, and prescribed an OTC. Beyond frustrated that I'm leaving feeling just as horrible as when I arrived. Will not return here and don't recommend. Update: 2 days later and feeling worse. The OTC meds are not helping. Saw a 2nd doctor at a different urgent care. Prescribed a full course of treatment and no need to run unnecessary test. If only I was treated better at the beginning I wouldn't be feeling horrible days later. Highly recommend avoiding this place. read more

They call it urgent care, but unless you like sitting in your car for hours on end, you'd be better off finding care somewhere else. Because I promise you, there is nothing urgent about this place. read more

I've never had a good experience here. The only reason I continue to use Velocity Care is because of their long hours. Every time I come here, the staff is unprofessional, uncaring and have made me feel like an inconvenience. Tonight, I asked for a glass of water since the water fountains were unable to use to to COVID and when I asked one of the staff for a refill she closed the exam room door, then proceeded to go into the hall and laugh about me. I heard everything she said. Note to staff: The doors are paper thin, think before you blatantly make fun of your patients. Then, I came in for an extremely painful finger injury, the PA, Derrick, who treated me was short, rude and didn't even tell me what to use for pain. So I walked back in, asked a nurse what I should take. She was supposed to call me back with an answer and never did. Very disappointed in their service and lack of customer care. I have came here and number times and I'm disappointed almost every time , and I won't to go back. Staff doesn't seem overly caring and compassionate. Today I went in with excruciating pain and they couldn't do anything for me other than tell me to go to the ER. I went one time when I had a fever urinary tract/ infection sinus infection bronchitis and hadn't slept a whole day, they thought I was on Sunday something was very offended. Apparently, they are not stupid enough to recognize sleep deprivation and being sick on top of that. Told them they could check my urine that you check my blood for any substances. I'm a nurse practitioner would not treat my patients the way I treated there. There's only one doctor I've seen there in the past that I like, other than that not. There are other urgent cares other than Carilion and I would encourage people to use another. read more

I have visited the Velocity Care on Electric road several times in the past year and each time was very impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. Now with Covid-19 upon us, they again did just what was needed to keep all safe. I called a head and they instructed me to call when in the parking lot and give medical and insurance information over the phone. When it was my turn to be seen I went in one door and out another of course wearing a mask. I never saw or passed another patient. I was still in and out in about 40 minute. Very happy with my care by all I had contact with. read more

I was traveling and came home with a sore throat all three of my children 6,4 and 2 had low grade fevers. I explained to the doctor we had been traveling and had been exposed to strep. He swabbed us and then came back and said you don't have strep but I'm sending it in for a culture. Three days later I get a call saying we in fact do have strep. My family has been miserable for four days because the doc didn't believe we had strep. Doctors like these are the reason Diseases spread. This doctor can't even diagnose a text book case of strep. This doc should not be practicing medicine he is an embarrassment to anyone in the medical field. read more

I've seen many doctors at this location and I am have never left satisfied. Most recently, I went to Velocity care due to low grade fever and enlarged tonsils. They did a strep test, checked everything, and said it was viral. The PA prescribed medication I was already on and when I told him this, he told me to carry on with what I'm doing and it'll clear up soon. Fast forward a few days, my fever has gotten worse and I go back to the same velocity care where I see a different doctor. I tell him that I've lost hearing in my left ear and my fevers have worsened. He gives me a once over, gives me OTC decongestants (one of which I'm already on) and says I'll feel better in a couple of days. I then spend the rest of that night vomiting, fever spiking, and in pure misery. Two days later, I go to my regular doctor and she is absolutely appalled. She found a severe sinus and severe ear infection. Something that should have been taken care of since I'm immune compromised. I'm furious at the lack of care. I wouldn't recommend anyone come here unless you want to stay sick and be offered OTC your mother could recommend. That being said, I've had many friends have great experiences and have wholeheartedly recommended it. I don't know what they have against me but by the other reviews, I'm not the only one. read more

I was seen by Dr. Coates and he literally looked at my finger and wanted me to have an xray. I did not like the way he spoke to me or made me feel so I asked to have another doctor see me. I was told it would be a while so I decided to leave I also was told my insurance would not be charged because NO SERVICES were performed at all. Low and behold I receive a bill in the mail months later for just being there! Absolutely unacceptable. I also spoke with the manager or if she wants to call her self that because she isn't good at her job her name is Lindsey Wolfe. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. I did not like the way I was spoke to, it is my choice to leave. I do not recommend going here as you will encounter multiple problems if you do. The manager is garbage and doesn't care about patients and Dr. Coates should definitely not be a doctor with the attitude he was giving me that day. I understand everyone has bad days but in the end you are a doctor that is there for patients not yourself. To Ms. Wolfe please find another place to work for as this type of work is not for you, you also need to learn how to speak to folks better and understand what they may be going through. AGAIN DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE THEY ARE NOT PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. read more
