Was contacted by the owner after leaving my first review. He offered to resolve the gear issue on my bike. Great customer service!

It was sleek, modern, and incredibly powerful, making hills and long distances a breeze. I was able to explore so much of the surrounding area without feeling fatigued or overwhelmed, thanks to the ease and comfort of the bike. The store owner was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and they have a huge selection of different styles of ebikes to choose from. I will definitely return here again!

I was told to come back tomorrow. I tried calling the next day, but nobody answered the phone so I showed up they didn't remember me. I told him I had purchased a scooter yesterday with my coworker, and then they went to look for it and they said it still wasn't ready and they needed to charge it . I came back the following day called again. No answer showed up didn't know who I was again reminded him an went to get my scooter ready for me to take one problem, though there was no charger with the brand new scooter. He could not find it. So he gave me a charger from behind the counter fast forward to today, May 5, 2026. I tried calling again no answer so I drove in. Doors were locked. Lights are on went to the front and back entrance. No sign of anyone one last check I see the guy who sold me the scooter in the window. I motion to him to come over. He comes over. he lets me in. I tell him about my scooter, he tells me to bring it in. I told him the back brake is no longer working, and my rear tire was making a grinding noise. He told me I could leave it to fill out my information before leaving. I asked him when he thought somebody would be able to take a look at it and he told me about a month. He stated the technician wasn't in today and that they had a backlog of scooters that needed to be repaired, which he pointed to in the corner and then told me there was multiple down in the basement of the same model. I told him that wasn't an option for me to wait over a month and that the scooter is still under warranty for another five months he tried to refer me to a scooter shop in Cambridge, which I live nowhere near and not paying for something that was under warranty. I then asked him what to do and he told me to call Segway the scooter company. And then again referred me to the scooter shop in Cambridge, which I had to reiterate that was not an option and I am not paying for something that is still under warranty. I asked him for Segway's number which he told me he did not have and to "Google it". My only dealings with this place twice have not been good and not the best customer service to say the least. Scooters were $1100 with tax and are under warranty for another five months and they are telling me I have to wait over a month to even get it looked at. Unacceptable!

I've been in search of a back rack for my bike so that I can carry stuff. Because my bike is…read morex-small, and has disc brakes, it's tricky, which has stopped me from just buying something on Amazon. Believe me, I've looked! But now it's summer and I had the day off and so I finally decided to get something done. I did my research, including looking at the Urban Cycles website and calling ahead to make sure the items were in stock. The guy on the phone said they could install the items for $20, but that it was essentially walk-in for that kind of service. (They make appointments for tune-ups and such.) He said it could be two hours or it could be a day. Maybe even overnight. Because I was riding there, I was wondering how I would get home without my bike for a day. Walk? Take the T? I feel naked without my wheels!. Regardless, I told the guy I'd be right there. He said, c'mon in!! When I got there, two guys both helped me through the process of figuring out what I'd need for the installation. Their prices are clearly labelled (and by-the-way lower than Amazon). They said take a walk and come back in an hour. I walked over to Hanover Street in the North End -- very close! -- and had an Italian lemon icee. By the time I got back, my bike was ready. The back rack with basket is amazing. It will change my life. I already stopped for groceries on the way home! The guys at Urban Cycles are fast, efficient, professional. The store itself is full of great stuff and there's more behind the scenes. It's a biker's dream. I *bike* Boston!

My review is not about the quality of their service (which I'm reading is not very good) my review…read moreis about the way the employees (most likely the owner) drives. Today in Old Saybrook, CT the company truck blew (completely blew, not a little) a stop sign and proceeded to pull out right in front of me and I had to aggressively break to avoid hitting him. Of course a few hundred feet up the road the uncurious driver had to wait for a red light. Never did he attempt the courteous hand wave "I'm sorry" - simply didn't care. So I called the office in Boston and was met with "this has nothing to do with me" (exact quote) attitude from an employee. Will I ever buy anything from them? No and never would have given I'm over 100 miles away but if you're going to be driving around with your name all over your truck (which was full of dents - go figure) you might consider being courteous and follow basic traffic laws designed to keep you and others safe. Stop signs are not "it would be nice but if you're a bike shop in Boston you don't need to stop" - they are there to protect you, other drivers, and pedestrians... OR people riding a bike? If it was the owner, Andrew, I suggest he do better. Also, he should read his reviews as it's not easy to earn a 3.6 average review - you have to be either really bad or a jerk - so congrats on that.

This shop was highly recommended as the place to go for a stuck seatpost. I e-mailed several weeks…read moreago to ask if they could do this repair, I received a reply that they could, and was given a link to book a service. I booked a service for Monday June 1, the soonest they had available. It didn't occur to me to look at their days/hours, because I had been sent a booking link, and those typically only allow booking when the business is open and has availability. On June 1 I took the afternoon off, biked over from Roxbury, and the place was closed. E-mailed and texted. Received a reply confirming they were closed and blaming the booking company. No real apology, no offer of a discount or anything to make it right, not even an offer to get me in as soon as possible. This is not anything like how I was taught to provide customer service when the business royally screws up and wastes someone's time. EDIT: The owner has now offered me 20% off, though is maintaining that they are confused as to why "the booking company" allowed that booking. The booking link still shows openings every day of the week. Why are you using software that requires contact with a company to make changes rather than the industry standard that lets you make changes to your own availability in your portal any time you want?
