Customer service was pretty decent. I did not have an appointment and they were able to get me in with Rose within 10 minutes. My issue is that, the paint job itself was super messy and not even dried all the way! I got them done hours before writing this review and my pinkie nail already lifted (the gel)! Along with that, the French that I got is all uneven! You can see my natural nail growth underneath some nails but not others? The curve itself in the French is quite uneven in all of my nails. Quite disappointed that I paid $60 for an acrylic FILL? Would not recommend regardless of all the good reviews. read more

I was so impressed with the great reviews and couldn't wait for my very much needed appointment. My husband and I both went for pedicures. Well, We did not have the experience I read about or was expecting. To start off, I guess because I'm not real tall I didn't fit in the chair properly. It was very uncomfortable. I paid for a full pedicure. She barely touched my legs, did nothing for my rough heels, didn't cut my cuticles, I had to tell her to cut my nails, the polish job is streaky. My husband had similar complaints. His technician didn't touch his heels and barely touched his legs. He was done so fast, I'm not too sure what they charged him for. All he got was his feet soaked in the foot tub. To say we're disappointed is a complete under statement. It's a nice looking salon. It's a shame the help isn't good. Will not return. Rudely speaking loudly in their native language down four chairs to each other. They dont listen to the customers request and repeatedly ask same questions. When you check out they say "we need tip in cash"? Really how do they know they will receive a tip? A lousy pedicure with polish that lasted through three showers and chips, they dont bother to massage feet and legs for more than 30 sec, leave legs with lotion glops and nails with lotion and apply polish over top unless you tell them to wipe off. No hot towel either. And forget if you have callus on heels the barely scrub them and use a soft brush. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to PSL from NYC and have yet to find the nail salon that fits my vibe/expectations, until I found Velvet online, saw the cute photos and good reviews, and decided to try it out. The place is so cute with chandeliers and pink chairs, and it's very clean! From the second you walk into Velvet, the manager, Michael, already has you all figured out. He is truly a nail expert. Right from the start, when I go to pick a color I can't decide between like 5 different options because I'm the most indecisive person in the world, so I ask Michael for his opinion. He responded with the most thoughtful answer: he chose my color based off of my skin tone and my general appearance/personality, and he determined this all within less than 5 minutes of meeting me. And he was so right. I'm obsessed with this color now. From that second I knew I found my new nail salon. Throughout the experience Michael was attentive, but also gave me the opportunity to relax and binge listen to my podcast lol. He is funny, easy to have a conversation with, and pays attention to every client's individual need at the same time. My nails came out excellent, and he honestly didn't take foreverrr to finish either which I appreciate coming from nyc lol... Overall I was very impressed with this establishment. I am honestly SO impressed with this place! I live in PSL, and there are ZERO even remotely decent nail salons up here. So, I find myself driving down to Stuart, FL often. After the pandemic, my former salon had.. went down hill. So I'd been on the hunt. After soooo many disappointing attempts in PSL, trying to stay close to home, I put Stuart in the search bar. After read through the reviews, I decided to give Velvet a shot. The first time I was here, Erica KILLED it with my pedi & full set. I was soooo impressed! (See first pic) Her attention to detail was unmatched in all my experiences in salons thus far, and she was fun to talk to while not being overly chatty & allowing me to relax & enjoy the experience. I was super stoked when she finished with my nails and would be doing my pedicure as well. I called to book another appt with her today, but she doesn't work wednesdays Regardless, because I was so impressed the first time, i figured I'd give someone else another shot. While the other guy did alright, he wasn't as engaging and fun to chat with as Erica was. I'd also like to mention that Michael, who I'm assuming to be the owner, remembered me by name and seemingly everyone else. Which was impressive considering I'd only been in there one other time. I spent 2 1/2 hrs here today. Wanted a fill so they talked me into a pedi too. They were too busy to start my pedicure so they had several people work on me. I feel like everything was rushed once they started & the gel fill was One of the worst I have ever had. First few times were great until they weren't. Sat down with the gentleman on the very end and he POURED healthy nail powder onto my nails, leaving a clumpy mess. When he was done, he noticed that he managed to glue my skin to my nail on my left pointer and proceeded to use his finger nail to peel the two from one another resulting in a cut. And when he didn't see it was successful he did it AGAIN! Not to mention he doesn't clean any of his tools and dropped them multiple times throughout the session. When I was done with it and told him I didn't want him touching my nails anymore because he hurt me he went to tell the manager and that I claimed he cut me, in which case she didn't believe me. They proceeded to leave me crying and forcing me to remove my down clumpy mess because they couldn't be bothered. They tried to make it right and give me a gift card for another try in a week without nails so I could heal my finger. O-k, round two. I came in tonight with my sister-in-law to get them put back on and had another horrible experience. Shocker! This time, Michael started by not flying my nails to the tips and telling me how I should have my nails done. After he applied the healthy nail they were apparently backed up so he had to switch to another client. No biggie, I can wait right. Well, Mary then took over so the horror could unfold. She proceeded to tell me the sloppy job Michael did looks fine, file away at the powder to leave a white spot, cut me twice with her file, and then when I finally had enough of it she informed me I should be "accommodating" of them because she's a very busy woman, that she was busy today and I need to understand. I'm sorry, I called ahead and made an appointment and when I called to verify before my appointment (which I have to do otherwise I sit for a while with my hands in hot bowls of remover) at 6 she asked me to come later because she was running behind. She then starting loudly shouting back and forth with Michael asking "what should we do" and making a fool of me in front of customers. I would not recommend. They bribe their rating out of the customers with enough patience to put up with them and then completely degrade anyone willing to pipe up and call them out. I have had a horrible experience here and would never come back. read more

Michael knew me on a first name basis since the first time I popped in and every time I've come in since, even if it's months later, he remembers my name and asks all about my family, etc. That is amazing attention to detail and customer service! I came here before getting ready for a wedding in the area. I started with a pedicure and picked a color from their little ring of colored nails. I picked out a burgundy red color and showed the lady. When she did the polish it ended up being like a cherry red. Not what I was going for but whatever it was still pretty. Although a bit messy. It could have been cleaned up more. Next I went for dip powder. Now I get dip powder very often and am more than familiar with how it should be done and how it'll look at the end. This was not right. She completed one hand at time and used very thick polish coats between powder coats and finished it with a glob polish which totally saturated the powder and left the color almost sheer and jelly looking rather than the nice powdery color it should have been. By the time they were done they were thick and looked totally off. On top of that I asked for a rounded nail and some where almost square and I ended up having to fix it at home. Over all they look okay. It's not terrible but it's not right which is what makes me upset. To be fair, I could have corrected her when I realized it wasn't right but it would have been another 30 minutes I didn't have to take off and re-do with no guarantee that would be right so it is what it is. read more

My first visit to Velvet was in January of 23. I was so lucky to find a great nail Salon near Stuart on the first try. The salon was recently updated and is kept very clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Michael took extra care and did a fantastic job on my nails. He is meticulous. I have been a repeat customer ever since. He has a great sense of humor, as do most of the staff. Michael also does a fantastic manicure and you can't go wrong with any of the other nail techs. I am very happy with the pleasant atmosphere and my ability to get my nails done with or without an appointment. My next visit will be to get my nails done for my daughter's wedding, and I will be bringing her as well, because I know she will receive the best manicure and pedicure for her special day. I had a very nice young lady Michelle wait on me she did an excellent job with both my pedicure and my nails. I would highly recommend this a business. I also want to say it's been years since I had a full set of nails I remember in the past whenever I got my nails done the technician always hurt me I always ended up having some kind of cut on my fingers from them. Worst part about it was seeing my nail tech stir up the powder with a dirty nail file.... that seemed really unsanitary.
