Not only were her reviews amazing, but I've also been in the salon industry myself for over 20 years, so I know what to look for when it comes to real professionalism, attention to detail, and quality service. From the moment I walked into my appointment, Shannon made me feel completely at ease. She has a warm, easygoing personality that instantly melts the nerves. She explained everything, made me feel relaxed, and honestly--I was shocked at how comfortable the whole experience was. Her technique is excellent, her attention to detail is incredible (she didn't leave a single sugar residue behind!), and she even got the tiniest hairs without causing the usual pain I've come to expect in certain areas. WTC takes pride in their work and they want to make sure you leave without the hair you came in with. I recently came in asking if I needed to get my eyebrows done and instead they suggested I just do a "maintenance" service to hold me until my next full eyebrow wax. They use a calming oil afterwards to help with the redness which I greatly appreciate. Most importantly is the waxing doesn't hurt; rather it's like a quick flinch. If you have any allergies you should get your nostrils done! It truly makes a difference and you won't have to worry about them going all the way up your nose. It's just around the nostril flares. I called the Rim location to book the Head-to-Toe Relaxation with Nails package for two people--$345 per person, or nearly $700 in services. After I explained what I wanted to book, the person answering the phone told me she needed to put me on hold to "help a customer." I waited for some time and eventually hung up. I understand needing to assist someone at the front desk, but I was also a customer. She could have simply taken my name and number and offered to call me back once she had time to coordinate the appointments. I then called the Basse location. The gentleman who answered spoke so quietly and mumbled so much that I couldn't understand him. I told him I couldn't hear him, and he switched phones, but it was no better. When I told him again that I was having difficulty hearing him, his response was essentially that it was just the phone. I finally gave up and hung up. What surprised me even more was that neither location attempted to call me back. Most businesses have some form of caller ID, and if a prospective customer disconnected while trying to book nearly $700 in services, I would expect someone to at least make an effort to return the call. I subsequently sent a detailed email about my experience to Woodhouse and also contacted its corporate parent. I never received a response from either one. One poor interaction can happen anywhere. But two locations, no follow-up from either location, and then no response to a written complaint suggests a broader customer-service problem. Woodhouse offers a luxury spa experience at luxury prices. The customer service should reflect that from the first phone call. Unfortunately, in this case it did not.
