After I explained what I wanted to book, the person answering the phone told me she needed to put me on hold to "help a customer." I waited for some time and eventually hung up. I understand needing to assist someone at the front desk, but I was also a customer. She could have simply taken my name and number and offered to call me back once she had time to coordinate the appointments. I then called the Basse location. The gentleman who answered spoke so quietly and mumbled so much that I couldn't understand him. I told him I couldn't hear him, and he switched phones, but it was no better. When I told him again that I was having difficulty hearing him, his response was essentially that it was just the phone. I finally gave up and hung up. What surprised me even more was that neither location attempted to call me back. Most businesses have some form of caller ID, and if a prospective customer disconnected while trying to book nearly $700 in services, I would expect someone to at least make an effort to return the call. I subsequently sent a detailed email about my experience to Woodhouse and also contacted its corporate parent. I never received a response from either one. One poor interaction can happen anywhere. But two locations, no follow-up from either location, and then no response to a written complaint suggests a broader customer-service problem. Woodhouse offers a luxury spa experience at luxury prices. The customer service should reflect that from the first phone call. Unfortunately, in this case it did not.

Sugar wax is less harsh than regular wax bc the hair is pulled in the same direction. I met and talked with Mandy then I was taken to a private room. I took off my bottoms only and received a towel wrap that had snaps to fit on my waist. I laid on the table and let the lady know I was ready through the closed door. She came in and got to work. I would say it's uncomfortable but not unbearable. Mandy is considerate and would offer breaks but I just went the whole time nonstop. It's good to have at least a weeks worth of hair but not too much hair or else that's more pulling. Mandy went to work on the front and the BACK. The front was more effort than the back. The back goes really quick and is much easier to handle. A little weird feeling but manageable. I was there for about 30 minutes and it really all goes quickly. Mandy will talk to you throughout to make it less awkward and as pleasurable as possible. Overall it was not scary or way painful. I will be back for another. I know over time the hair will get thinner and waxing will be easier.
