Was there as they opened at 9:30, checked in and they sat me in pedi chair, 15 mins later they came over and said workers were coming in at 10am, 20 mins later they came over and said lots of workers on vacation and now would be coming in at 10:30. Most disappointing is the addition of cheap looking tables in the front area that change the atmosphere from boutique to run of the mill mall salon. I had been a customer there for many years. Vivian is the best!!!! she listens to what I am looking to do and does a great job - every time I get my nails done. I would have given 5 stars but...the receptionist/greeter is not friendly at all. They need to replace her. I've been going here for several years and she has never greeted me with a smile. Yesterday when I was there, I asked for change for a $20 bill so I could tip Vivian and she told me she couldn't do that as they are short cash in the drawer. I told Vivian and she opened the cash drawer and made change for me. Also, there is a sign that says they give 10% off for seniors. when I was checking out, I asked the receptionist/greeter about it, she said I had to mention it and show my ID before my services were done. Another time, I asked her for a bottle of water (which they provide) and she gave me attitude-like I was bothering her. There are other instances but I think you get the point. Started off with a sweet greeting at the door, by the owner/operator and escorted to my pedicure station. It was so peaceful and clean! They have a strict noise ordinance so that's great for people like me who prefer to relax!! My pedi was completed by Lin. Heavenly! Request her, no matter the wait, you will not be disappointed!!!!! She took her time, was detailed and was absolutely amazing!!!!! I chose a Raspberry & Plum Volcano Pedi with a French shellac polish. For my nails, I chose a French dip with short tips, completed by Tram who literally made sure they were perfect and communicated great!! New to the Riverview area and searching for a new mani/pedi home. Called to schedule a same day appointment - flawless process. The receptionist is friendly enough. Upon arrival only had to wait about 5 mins before the chairs were ready for our two pedis. At this point you're offered several options of scents and spa "add-ons" to enhance the pedicure. All these prices start at $40 and are in addition to the $28 regular pedi (in my case $48 pedi with gel polish) but I had to ask to learn that. The regular pedi is good but very basic, just a little pumice scrub and basic cuticle care - no massaging. We were in a rush this trip but Lynn did a good job, I'll likely try one of the fancier pedis next time. For my nails and fill, Ken was very knowledgeable and did a great job on my nails. He offered honest input and good conversation. Did a great job with my fill. If I had any complaints it would be that there was no cuticle care and I expect when paying for a fill that a manicure is included. I'll very likely be back again. read more

She is good but then attends you with an attitude when all you ever give her is huge tips so the attitude is ridiculous and out of line. So I must say that my second visit at Venetian was even better than my first. I called ahead to make an appointment with Trish, but found out she was still out for the holidays. I ended up being scheduled with Mimi and will admit I had my reservations to start. However, Mimi did an amazing job on both my hands and feet. She nailed it when it came to the shape of my nails and there is something about the way she filed them down because my nails have such a smooth feel that I have never felt before! Lol. It's hard to explain but needless to say, I left a happy woman. For this visit I give Venetian 5 stars. They were PACKED but I had an appointment and they made sure to get me sat immediately unlike my first visit. That I appreciated... Just a quick update as my last review was from last two years ago and some of my perspectives and feelings have altered since then. First and foremost, if you do decide to call ahead to make an appointment so you won't have to wait too long as a normal walk-in then don't. I can strongly come here and write this review and let you know that if you walk in you'll get your nails done faster then if you make an appointment. I make my mom and I's appointment and it always seems that when we come in for whatever time, someone else takes our spot so there's no point in making appointments. Also, there are only a few go to nail technicians that are great here and most of them are so busy and have multiple people waiting on them that they do the job so sloppy and fast. Personally, Venetian Nail Spa is a tad bit on the pricey end and I want to come out with nails that no ones ever seen before. Sometimes I come out and my nails don't look up to par but I still pay because even if I do express myself on how ugly or sloppy they look I get pushed away. I don't want the same thing to happen to you, so just save yourself the trip and go somewhere else. I'm currently on the hunt to find somewhere else to get my mani and pedi because after this I've just decided not to go at all. The owner is sweet, but again they can't handle the busy hours and they tend to do bad work when those times hit. The nail tech beside Trish's table on the right of the check in table tends to argue with customers when they express their feelings on their nails and she's very hostile and rude. How can a lounge be so relaxing as they say it is when I'm fighting about the nail work day in and day out. Make that make sense. Go at your own discretion, but I wanted to update the review because their customer service depleted over the years for certain. The mani and pedi used to be worth the buck, but now it's not the case. The customer service isn't the best and my nails looks like a toddler did them. Again, I hate to write one star reviews because I'm aware some people have bad days, but when these bad days start to come for my wallet I have to cut it off completely. read more

I never imagined myself writing this review as I have been a client of Venetien from the day they opened and a client of Kim's even before they opened when she worked at a different nail salon, but I have given them an ample amount of time to make it right and they chose not to. Please see the pictures attached to this review and let me know if you think that this nail salon cleans their tools properly? Due to bad sanitization at the salon I got a nail infection around my finger called paronychia. I have never in my life had that happened to me and I have been getting my nails done for the past 20+ years. I personally am not a fan of most of the nail techs anywhere in the surrounding area, including this salon, because most of them do not have the proper education / training to do it right. And, if you ever ask them to do it close to your cuticle (which is the proper way of applying nail polish) or you get upset that they cut you while removing cuticle - they immediately get irritated with customers and start speaking Vietnamese. Since 2016 I have only been seen by Kim (every 3 weeks religiously). After I started feeling my finger hurting back in May of 2021 I didn't think anything of it until it has been about a month of non stop pain. I mentioned it to Kim at the following appointment and got no reaction from her. I then came back 3 weeks later to get my pedicure done and she saw that my finger had gotten significantly worse, yet didn't even ask about it. By then I went to the dermatologist who told me exactly how I got it. I shared it with Kim and again, 0 reaction. Not sure why, but I gave her another chance and came back 6 weeks later for another pedicure just to be asked how come we have not been doing manicure... I showed her my finger that by that point was in really bad shape and she still said N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!! I believe her boyfriend, Ken, who is one of the owners of this salon, overheard our conversation and asked me if everything "was okay" while I was paying. I shared with him what has been happening with my finger for the past 3 months by then and guess what. He charged my card and wished me a good day. I honestly cannot make this up! I later sent a long text to Kim letting her know how disappointed I was with their treatment during this very first issue for the past 6+ years and I never heard back from her. Just tried this nail salon for the first time and I'm very pleased! I found it to be spotless and I like all the measures in place for cleanliness and sterilization. The pedi chairs are really nice and all have disposable liners. The instruments they use on you are all sterilized and in a sealed package. The salon has very soothing spa like music on and waterfalls all around. It's all very relaxing and calming. When you enter the salon you will not see any pedi chairs because they are all located behind a wall in the back of the salon. I really like the set-up they have. I just moved to Riverview, FL and this is the first salon I visited. Paid $87 and sis not get what was expected went in for regular pedicure (excellent) and dip powder with extensions (poor). If it wasn't for my dip nail powder service I would give five star because it's a clean peaceful place, I feel they should make sure they know how to do dip powder, the owner should go one by one and see their work so that the customer has a great experience throughout... I hate giving bad reviews I got a pedicure done with Jocelyn she was great would give her 5 stars, she was caring and very aware of what I wanted. I wish she would know how to do dip powder, because they put me with someone else to get it done. Hayden I believe is her name and she stated she knew how to do dip powder, and it was not done right. I've been getting dip powder since it came out back in 2017 and I know the process. I was so disappointed the moment she was half way done, I kept telling her they were so uneven, and she looked bother that she had to keep filing, I just gave up and let her finish...it was bulkier towards the middle, the edges weren't even covered, the nail tips weren't put in right I have things like food going inside between my nail bed and nail tip. It's been barely a week and every time I do a ponytail I have hairs getting stuck on my nails because they're lifting close to the cuticle that means she did not did it correctly. Dip powder lasts me three weeks no lifts and no space between nail tips and nails. $45 for dip powder and not even a week and already lifting.!!!! read more

First time ever visiting this salon and upon first impression it is a nice, clean, relaxing space. I was concerned there might be a bit of a wait time as there were several ppl waiting but I was pleasantly surprised when I was promptly taken back for my pedicure. PEDICURE: loved that everything was sterile, clean, sealed instruments used only on me, I got the volcano honey pedi and it was amazing!! The technician was so patient, kind and did an amazing job on my, the ugliest feet around! Everyone was super nice. No complaints!! SNS DIP: first time ever getting this done- be forewarned there are hundreds and hundreds of color options to choose from! For me, this was the most difficult part. The technician was again very patient with my indecision, even took time to show me on my nails how different techniques and colors would work. I absolutely love my nails!! The only thing that disappointed me was that they use the same dipping container for everyone. Normally (from my research & others) salons pour out the powder into individual cups/ containers for each person to eliminate any cross contamination / bacteria issues. So this might be a concern? Today I go in and tell them (like I always do) that I have a latex allergy--the technician sighs under her breath and proceeds to stomp around the salon and talking nasty about me in her language to others. I am then asked to sit and wait longer- I ask for help to communicate in English that I have a deathly allergy to latex --NOT POWDER-- and I am treated poorly by the rest of the staff. What salon doesn't have latex-free gloves these days and why am I discriminated against because of my allergy?!!?? Stay away of you have latex allergy! They don't care here! Update- I called to give the owner the chance to resolve and while he did say sorry, repeatedly, he did not allow me to finish and completely convey the issue. I was also met with significant number of excuses instead of active listening to all of my frustrations. I wanted to ensure they understood and give the ability to make it right and know where I was coming from. The lack of active listening and acknowledging comments are only escalated further to the point I ended up extremely frustrated and was hung up on. Salons these days should be like hospitals and they all should have a non-latex option. Venetian has at all of my previous appointments--it's so unfortunate because I have enjoyed the visits in the past even if on the more expensive side. Booked an appointment 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE with a specific person (the only good tech there) and was told that I had not done so (I run a business through my phone which automatically records my calls so I am 100% certain what was said) . Not to mention, while I was already waiting an additional 30 minutes after my appointment should have started, I couldn't help to notice this "manager's" interaction with his receptionist and how dry he was with her. I couldn't help but feel bad. As amazing as this specific tech is, management, will keep me from wasting another dime at this establishment. ... and obviously from the (google) reviews this same person seems to have a pattern of not being so nice with repeat (long time) customers.
