First time at Venezia after many years at Mirabella's in the same location. Ambience was nice and enhanced by live music. The songs were perfect for the environment and the volume was just right so that you could listen and talk. Just a note that there was a very large table with mostly women who were very loud and drowned out the music, so the acoustics are not great if you encounter a loud party. Prior to that group getting there it was very quiet despite most of the tables occupied. Service by Dana was exceptional. She was attentive and her personality helped make for a fun evening. Love the BYOB! The food was all pretty good but pretty expensive (skipped the $15 house salad). I did not care for the surprise 3.5% charge for using my credit card (no credit card company charges merchants 3.5% - I believe Visa charges 3%, not the 3.5%). The trend of a few restaurants breaking out a credit card fee began a few years ago in SH, but not everyone does it; it has always been a cost of doing business. Venezia uses the handheld devices for charging and the tip options presented are calculated inclusive of tax, so you are also tipping on the government's charge. You can use the "other" option and tip what you want of course. Coupled with their credit card fee and tip on tax policy, we would have to think before going again despite the good service and good food. Personally, I would rather they increase the food charges to include the CC fee vs. the nickel and diming on the bill. We began with the recommended special appetizer of duck nachos. Perfect recommendation as they were delicious. The scallop entrée was exceptional although very expensive at $52 it seemed. The scallops were sweet and perfectly cooked. I ordered the sautéed local flounder ($43). It was good but unexpectedly fried with a very light cornmeal type batter vs sautéed. The accompanying gnocchi was also pan fried. For dessert we had the lemon butter cake. It's actually very close to a cheesecake. Either way, the cake was different and pretty good. Compliments to the chef! read more

This place is closed and a new Argentinian restaraunt is in its place. Venezia was only open for one year.

What a great location! Such a shame that Venezia couldn't take advantage of this great opportunity. The ambiance was lackluster, had no soul and the decor made it feel sterile. The food? Bland, bland and bland. I hate when I go to a restaurant and I could make better dishes at home. The prices were also absurd. If you are going to charge super high prices, you better knock the food out of the park. I hope Venezia can turn it around because a location this great needs a great restaurant. read more

YES TO BREAKFAST! Doesn't look like a breakfast place (and it's generally busy for dinner) but it's so good! Real blueberries and lots of them in the pancakes. Delicious real-egg scrambled eggs, home fries and sausage patties. And did someone say cinnamon raisin French toast?! Omelets are up next time. We were lamenting the closure of a favorite on the island but we think this outdoes that by a mile. read more

Our family of 3 had a delicious meal to Venezia last night. My salmon over lobster risotto was fabulous, my husband enjoyed the chicken marsala and my son loved the spaghetti with meat balls. Our server was so sweet and it was a nice night out. The place wasn't full and I think folks on the island are missing out on a great new Italian spot. Definitely give it a try. read more

What a great upgrade to the Stone Harbor restaurant scene! We had driven 17 hours yesterday from Florida and all we wanted was some good home cooked food served quickly. That is exactly what we got here. My wife ordered the appetizer special (duck confit nachos). I sampled and thought they were just delicious. She then had the Iceberg Wedge salad as her dinner and was very pleased with it-- the portion size was generous. I had the dinner special which was Chicken Schnitzel. This was served over homemade pappardelle pasta with french style green beans. This dish was executed extremely well-- the chicken was pounded thin and lightly fried and the pasta was light and fresh. The green beans were served to perfection as well. The portion size again was very nice and I was able to take home almost half of the food. For dessert we split a slice of the chocolate torte cake which was extremely light and was not as heavy as many tortes. The flavor was delectable and was a nice finish to the meal. Ashley (the owner) stopped by our table to introduce herself and thank us for our patronage which again is a nice touch. 3 of us had breakfast at Venezia. We were seated quickly at a beautiful table where we could talk and people watch. The breakfast menu has eggs, French toast, omelettes, pancakes, waffles and fruit. My son had a delicious waffle. My daughter pancakes. I had a bacon, mushroom omelette with toast and a fruit cup. The food was absolutely delicious and plated beautifully. We searched for a great breakfast spot in Stone Harbor and have been to Venezia several times. A good selection, excellently prepared, and diligent and very friendly service. One of us ordered eggs sunny side up and upon placing the plate on the table, the server noticed the yolk had broken, and insisted on frying up another egg. May seem like a small matter, but typifies the owners' attention to detail to make their customers happy. Recommended! read more

Food was fantastic and service excellent! Had dinner there in June and it was easy to get in last minute so we were surprised how good the food was. We were very excited to try out a new place in Stone Harbor. We arrived at 6:30 on a Friday night and there wee no other patrons at all. Eventually two other couples came in and left before ordering. The waitress was wonderful and attentive but the food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. The owner came out at one point and looked extremely sloppy in a tank top with messy hair and looked unkempt . Don't waste your time or money, I doubt this place will last a year. read more
