My husband and I visited the Venice Skate Park while in the area. It is a large skating area for different people to skate at the beach. There's a walking path that leads the way and there is some cool art work leading up to the park. While there we saw many different people doing tricks. There are plenty of places to stand and watch. I don't skate but I enjoyed watching different people of different ages doing some really cool tricks. I recommend this place if you are a skater or you just like to watch people as they practice their skating skills. read more

We saw a crowd gathering while roaming Venice Beach and walked over to see. We were delighted to find the skatepark, seeing skaters of all ages enjoying themselves. It's pretty too as there's palm trees all around and it's right near the ocean. read more

Venice skate park it's a staple in The area. It's always fun to watch people go skateboarding both young and old :-) it's definitely a place for tourist to check out for the Southern California lifestyle. This was a wonderful experience. The only advice I would say is that atvh out for the t-shirt ships. The ones that print any design there is one that is amazing and the older guy who runs it is honest, then there is the second one we went too which tried to charge us 280$ for a single sweater. We are fighting with our bank right now to get the charge reversed save your money and buy from a local artist instead. Otherwise this is a beautiful place and as long as your on your toes, you'll be just fine read more

So I'm not a skater. So this review is purely on observation. Located in the same location as the Venice Boardwalk. Basically a giant swimming pool with rails, humps and ramps. Tourist and locals surround the giant cement pit behind the railings while watching those brave enough, crazy enough and skilled enough to not only challenge themselves but the crowds that come to have claimed they "came and conquered". There is a lot of talent here! From beginner to expert, it's worth a stop. Although I have seen far better skate parks, one can't beat the views here.. whether the surf and sand or the eclectic locals and tourists. If you know how to ride a board, this may be just the place to catch a ride. Patience and politeness is a must. Don't skate??..that's ok, go check these guys & gals out! read more

Our overall favorite skate park. Imagine a place on the beach with big smooth bowls, a snake run, and plenty of street stuff. Skate in the sunny Californian breeze while throngs of tourists look on. Never too hot, never too cold. The Pacific Ocean is the beautiful backdrop. Very common to see a variety of pro skaters at this spot and if not pro, you'll see some incredible talent. This park is often used for ads and movies and is the centerpiece to the Dogtown skate scene these days. Highly recommended. I don't skate but every time I ride to the beach, I park my bike here and watch the skaters flying around- its great! There are always a lot of people here skating and people watching from outside the rails. On a good day you will see some amazing skating and flying through the air- I just sit back amazed! Since I don't skate- just watch I can only say that the park looks nice and has more stuff to skate on than any other skate park I have seen. The back drop to the skate park is the ocean... does it get better or more California than that? Next to the skate park is a graffiti wall that has legal graffiti and sometimes you can see something cool. Also next to skate park is the "dance hall" section.. there are always people out there dancing on skates to loud music and having a great time. It is hilarious and cool at the same time and every-time I see it I laugh and smile. It can seem crowded but you can always find a spot to watch and have fun! read more

I am not a skater or anything like that. I mean I used to have this one pair of roller blades back when I was like ~14 but never tried any stunts. I can honestly say I am a fan of this skate park. I mean, what more can you ask for? Amazing view of the pacific ocean, pretty talented kids and older crowd that show their tricks. I love standing around watching these amazing kids risk their lives at the skate park. I have even seen a little 6yr old skate like a pro, seriously that kid gathered such a crowd. I just sit down on the side and watch skateboarders (beginner to professional) glide with their unique boards. It's free to use the premises, you need to be careful or give the courtesy of waiting then it's your turn to use the space. It seems this is the favorite hang-out for local skateboarders. They come with a bunch of friends cheering them on the side. There is room for improvement. If you fall down, you can always pedal from your board back, put enough momentum to fly up the air, flip your board and land in both of your feet. You might get free tips from the local experts on how they do the trick. The holes are about 2-4 feet. The surface is smooth. From all the failed attempts of landing, i haven't seen anybody being bruised enough to bleed. Nor have I seen them wearing a head gear for protection. It's up to you to wear the helmet and pads. This is a place of free entertainment. I don't know how to skate, but seeing them glide so easy made me feel like trying too! read more

I recently worked remotely from Venice Beach, and had an awesome time watching the skaters at the Venice Skate Park. I wasn't expecting to see such a huge crowd when I arrived, but was pleasantly surprised by the excitement and electricity in the air. I watched some skaters effortlessly perform tricks, while others happily flopped around. Since I was wearing khakis and a polo, I also received some lighthearted jabs (which were both funny and creative). Overall, I definitely recommend that people visit this skate park given the chance, simply because it has a strong sense of community. read more
