Heartbroken. My…read morehaircut looked gorgeous when I left the salon, but that was after about 40 minutes of blow-drying, a round brush, and styling product. After I washed it myself, I saw what the cut actually looked like. I definitely looked better before I walked in. My hair doesn't fall nicely, the curtain bangs disappear into the longer hair instead of covering my forehead, and I found two strands that are 3 to 4 cm longer than the rest of my hair. The stylist had come highly recommended through a friend of a coworker, so I was surprised and disappointed. I was quoted $75 over the phone. I thought, hey, I deserve a really good haircut. Instead, I was charged $80, required to leave a tip even though the stylist was the salon owner, and then charged another $3 for paying by card rather than cash. I can't afford to pay another stylist to fix an $80 haircut, so I trimmed the bangs myself. Thankfully, that turned out okay. I look a little better now, and the rest will eventually grow out. I hate leaving a review like this, especially because the salon is very chic and the haircut looked so good when I first left. But I wish I had known what it would look like after I washed it myself. My advice: stay away. You earned your money, and you deserve to look your best.

The client's hair stylist left for another salon and Monroe Salon refused to honor their commitment. Instead they offered a 50% refund of the amount THEY overcharged! Unbelievable! I'm removing them from our recommended list, and hope they reevaluate their shady business practices.

The application style was extremely chunky, uneven, and even worse had "leopard spots" in several areas. The top looked like tiger stripes. When I went to another salon to have it fixed, they said there were areas that were left on too long and others not enough. As you look at the deeper layers of my hair, you can see the bleach was applied in random diagonal lines. Definitely not the quality you expect from any stylist let alone an experienced one. The other salon was able to fix the high stripes but because of the random application of the bleach they had to return it all pretty much to brown and start over. I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my hair to heal before the other salon can give me a new blond balayage. I am getting engaged in a few weeks, which is why I wanted my hair done in the first place, and now I will not have my hair done for day of my engagement. Although she gave me a PARTIAL refund, it did not cover the repair costs and definitely is not going to cover the second good salon visit for a proper balayage. Even if she did give it all back, the additional repairs are going to cost me over $150 more than what I would have paid if it was done right the first time. Again super nice women, but I would NOT recommend her for any hair treatment.
