Please, DO NOT give your money or your time to the Charter College AAS-DMS degree, Associates in…read moreDiagnostic Medical Sonography. I am a June 2025 graduate of the first class, cohort 1, in Oxnard, California. This program, based on my experience, is educationally inadequate, clinically deficient, and does not properly prepare students to graduate as qualified, competent, skilled, employable, sonographers/ultrasound techs. Sadly, my experience included the following: NOT having consistency in teaching due to the revolving door of management and instructors that quit or got fired, combined with a lack of required, critical, hands-on scanning time in the lab. Sonography/Ultrasound is the only radiology modality that is 100% DEPENDENT ON A SOLID ANATOMY FOUNDATION COMBINED WITH HANDS ON SCANNING SKILL OF THE SONOGRAPHER. NOT having established clinical sites or sites that wanted to help grow students' skills on real patients. My personal experience is that I was sent to a clinical site that never let me touch a patient. I immediately told the program manager, clinical coordinator, all instructors, and everyone that would listen this clinical site was never going to let me scan. The gaslighting I experienced from Charter was unbelievable. I was repeatedly told, "watching someone scan is just as good as hands on scanning." That is not true! So, I spent two months at that clinical site losing my limited skills all because I was a top student in the class and a good scanner rewarded for all my hard-work by being ignored by Charter College and not being allowed to scan in clinical. I have never recovered due to the limited scanning time offered in the program. Charter still doesn't have enough qualified, contracted clinical sites with hands on scan time; All of which is required for accreditation, graduation, and national registries and is not disclosed to students. NOT providing enough ultrasound machines for a 2 student to 1 machine ratio for maximum hands-on scanning time or fixing broken machine(s) quickly or at all. When you are told that there are hundreds of hours offered in scanning labs that is a general number. It is not the actual hands-on scan time that you will get. NOT providing enough weekly scanning labs for required hands on training and muscle memory creation to be successful in the field. We had 26 minutes per student, per week, and Cohort 2 only had 10 minutes per student, per scanning lab!!! NOT offering daily, guaranteed, open scan labs for after hours practice desperately needed to keep practicing due to the lack of scanning time provided by this accelerated program and lack of machines. NOT offering an official post graduation open lab scanning program. Other schools provide open scanning labs seven days a week and some schools offer open labs 24 hours a day/7 days a week to accommodate students diverse schedules. NOT having consistency in the hands-on scanning due to the revolving door of instructors and management that quit or were fired. No instructor ever knew what the previous one had taught or not taught us. NOT having real job placement help as promised. Online job search sites will provide you much better job information. NOT having a good reputation in the medical and ultrasound community which translates to not having the required clinical sites for students or sites that have no interest in properly training us in the real world before graduation. This message is a PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT to help protect current and future students that come behind me based on my experience of: spending almost $40,000 on a subpar education, wasting 17 months in school plus 3 months in a post-graduation, out of state externship, at my own expense, having to teach myself the information during school due to the deficient materials and/or instructors, not being provided a good educational foundation to pass the required national registry tests, not being qualified in my scanning skills or anatomy, and competing against qualified graduates from other schools in a completely saturated job market with very limited jobs. Ultrasound/sonography departments are small. My opinion is RUN! I wish I had because I'm unemployable and have almost $40,000 in school loans that cost me $600 a month. If I can help please email at: divaarizona@gmail.com

I just graduated from their Rad Tech program. I can only speak for that program. I have heard from…read moremultiple people that the sonography program has been a hot mess, but I would strongly recommend the Rad Tech program with two HUGE and I mean HUGE caveats. The program is about 5% teaching and 95% memorization and practice. And you do in 12 months what you have two or three years to do at a traditional college. Traditionaly you do the pre-reqs, then apply, then if you get in, the program, it's a snails pace and two years to learn everything. Charter is 12 months, no days missed and no holidays. Second, the local hospitals are totally saturated with SLCC and Weber students if you are in Utah. So you have to be willing to travel out of state now or arrange your own clinical through a local connection. Is it a scam, nope. But it is going to be one of the hardest things you ever do if you attempt it. The only reason I don't give it five stars is because admissions didn't give me even close to any idea of just how much work it takes to succeed. And secondly, as much as I loved the teachers there, I felt like they were forced to make homework which was just a hurdle while I was trying to get the lame assignments out of the way so I could actually study and prepare the skills that we needed.

CCI has various health care related options, all fast tracked and have both day and evening options so you can still continue to work while attending school (granted that there are enough enrollees to facilitate both options) They have caring and knowledgeable staff who are experts in their fields, and give honest insight into the field that you selected to pursue. They have externships to actual facilities where you get real world exposure and training. You get out of this what you put in, so by no means are the programs easy, but you learn a lot. There are also financial aid options available to those who qualify. Most fields of study can be completed in less than 18months. I finished the Vocational Nursing program which was about 14months of actual school, and already am receiving job offers from several sites. If you're unsure, just stop by the campus and ask for Micheal Boyd. Take a campus tour, ask as much as you can before committing.

We also went through several instructors during the course. Although I passed my final exam, the school promised they would arrange an external clinical site so I could complete my required hours. Unfortunately, all of the available sites were already contracted with other schools, leaving me unable to finish my hours in time to take my state exam. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience, especially considering the amount of money I invested.

DO NOT GO TO THIS COLLEGE. I would not send any child of mine here on a bet. The mentality is…read more militaristic and cultlike and the spiritual abuse is unconscionable. A young friend of mine, a recent convert to Catholicism, went here and I was absolutely horrified at her stories. To give one small example, it is required that all of the students sit and listen to all of their teachers talking about them with no filter. The criticism is just complete spiritual putdowns to absolutely crush the spirit. No mercy, no kindness. She was literally crying and they didn't stop. It's a place where you are broken down. All of the alumni look alike, which says a lot. Another thing people should know is that neither Catherine of Aragon nor Queen Victoria would pass the modesty standard. I am not joking. any neckline more than two fingers under the collarbone is considered slutty. The culture is so utterly out of touch and sets such an impossible standard that the alumni cannot function outside of the subculture, mostly because they are so full of themselves.
