Honestly, everything is just so smooth with them. I switched to VWS after Nestle Ready Refresh started going downhill. The switch was easy, deliveries and auto-pay - easy ... and get this, Nicholas came by today to deliver and I asked him a question about a concern with my dispenser, he immediately took a look and asked me if I bought this unit from them. I was fully honest of course and told him no. I had purchased it from Ready Refresh years ago. Anyway, he tells me he is not sure but will ask the warehouse employee and get back to me. A couple hours later I got a text from him following up. I am still just in awe of the follow up and customer service. Now I do wanna say, sometimes I get a different deliver guy. I don't know his name but he is not really friendly. But I hope Nicholas comes back and again, I cannot complain about how smooth it is to do business with them. Super happy. read more

I've been a customer for about 20 years. I am a big fan of this place! You know I'm gonna tell you why. I mean, that's what I do. It must've been about 15 years ago that my water softener broke down. I came here looking to buy a new one and talked to the owner, Dan. He explained I might not need a new water softener, he might be able to simply replace the tiny resin beads inside the tank. And that's exactly what he did. Knocked out the job in just a few hours. Saved me hundreds of bucks. And that fix he did 15 years ago lasted until just recently when that old water softener finally up and died. First thing I did was hit up this place to see how much new water softeners cost. Then I called the competition. Ventura Water Store was literally thousands less than price quoted by the other guys. Huge price difference! Since I had such a great previous experience with them, and they were so much less expensive, I went with Ventura Water Store. So glad I did! The installation went smoothly. Took no more than a couple hours. Couldn't have been easier. The cost of the installation was totally reasonable. The technician that did the installation was a pleasure to work with. Although the Water Store didn't haul away the old softener it wasn't a big deal because EJ Harrison and Sons provides homeowners with two free special pick ups every year. If you need a new water softener I highly recommend you consider the Ventura Water store. They not only sell them, they rent them too. They have a variety of models to choose from, and will help you figure out the best one for your needs. Also, I love that every molecule of water they sell at the Ventura Water Store has one atom of oxygen and two hydrogen. Because if you're really thirsty, good old H2O is what you want. If someone tries to get you to drink some H2O2, even if they are, say, the President of the United States or whatever, just say no. This place services customers after hours with their outdoor refill stations. I can definitely appreciate that. However, you don't get a full gallon... they cheat you for about 1/8 of a gallon. (See photo). They are about $.20 a gallon cheaper compared to another water store I was going to. So maybe it balances out in the end? I can't say that the high ph water tastes like high ph. I am used to sparkling clean, high alkaline water, and this doesn't taste as good as what I'm used to. But since I live out of town and I am visiting, this is probably the best place around. read more

My go to place to refill my water gallons. Plenty of parking space in the plaza and some right in front of the store makes it convenient to load up your water jugs. Outside stations and inside, too. The machines take change, bills or credit cards. It's a popular spot but usually everyone is very respectful of not hogging all the machines at once. .35 cents for a gallon of water. read more

we purchased two water bottles here after coming a few times for water refills. The 2 bottles we purchased melted in the sun while in our car causing the bottle to be permanently misshaped. When I brought this up the cashiers they stared at me as if I was an alien. I was hoping in the future they would inform customers that the bottles were sensitive and would need to be tested as such. To stare at me and shrug after having spent $50 is frustrating and unhelpful. read more

Tap water in Ventura tastes like crap. Soooo... I'm very grateful of this water store. They clearly care about the quality of the product and they have the right systems and technology to produce good R/O, distilled, and alkaline water at a reasonable cost. I fill up NINE 5-gallon jugs at a time. They make the process easy and the staff is always completely friendly and helpful. I'm a half R/O and half Alkaline guy... total flavor snob and it tastes absolutely GREAT! Might even consider delivery one day when I get too lazy to haul it myself. :) read more

I honestly never thought I would have to write a review for this place. It's a water store, there's not much to it, but with COVID-19 the absolute worst has been brought out in people, and now we can see the true nature of people and businesses. When I went last in May I couldn't help but notice their sign on the door. They're complaining about having to put tape on the ground to delineate six feet. Of all the things to be mad about, this is the hill they want to die on. I can only imagine how they're reacting to a state wide order requiring masks. NONE of their employees were wearing masks when I went in. And I'm sure they were directed not to. I just really am shocked that this was the hill they wanted to die on. But now I know what kind of people run this store. I know I won't be returning and I know many others in Ventura who used to be customers won't be returning either. I have tried with this place multiple times, being a business owner myself.. nothing is more frustrating then a business that never answers the phone? Someone has to be available right? After calling multiple times throughout the day... And then to get there and they don't have DI water ?!? They say they sold out. How do you sell out of DI water? It's a water store.. I visited Ventura's Water Store for the first time about 45 minutes ago, and the experience was so mind bogglingly inexplicable that in the time it took me to drive home my brain has pretty much melted. I fear I will sooner unlock the secrets of the universe, understand string theory, finally realize the perfect pastry dough, and maybe take up rock climbing before I understand how the Water Store functions. I am about to be without a working kitchen for a few weeks, and felt renting a water dispenser and buying and having water bottles delivered seemed like an efficient and effective way to provide drinking water for my family and dogs. I walked in, briefly explained the situation, and was told the following: Staff: "I'm sorry, we are not taking any new delivery customers until January." Me: "Can I rent one of these coolers and purchase water and take it home with me until delivery resumes?" Staff: "Sorry, those are for delivery customers only." Me: ............ Reader, this is when The Mind Boggling began to take hold: Sincerely asking: Do a lot of delivery customers come by to hang out at the Store, talk the latest in water, test out coolers, and buy more water in addition to what they have being delivered? Was there an unexpected fractional split in the time/space continuum when I entered the Store thus altering my perception of what transpired? Like, the January thing is happening in another dimension and not actually in Ventura? Is this situation just a sort of a, to quote Vonnegut, "So it Goes," type deal? Honestly, who can say? What is real at this point? Some suggestions, kindly meant: Put a sign on your doors about not taking on new delivery customers at the moment. Put a notice on the website. (I checked it before stopping in.) That way we can all save a bit of time. (I write that last sentence fully embracing the irony of me saying this while spending 67 hours typing this Yelp Treatise.) We tried Ventura Water Store for more than 10 years. The owner cared a lot about his customers and the water he supplied to us. As time passed, the owner was less involved and passes on daily responsibility for the store to a new manager. We found the new manager to be less than truthful on a number of issues and his skills not up to standard. He allowed a leak of some kind and denied that the incident happened. Finally, we noticed we were starting to feel bad drinking their water. We stopped getting water from Ventura's Water Store about 3 years ago and are glad we did. We are now getting our water from another source and our health has improved. Everyone needs to be their own judge about their water source. Knowing the people who clean these units, and their character is essential, at least it was for us. read more

Very impressed by the High Quality of the water from Ventura's Water Store! Lots of outside 24hr water stations but I especially like walking inside their very clean lobby and filling up my 5 gallon bottles with their high quality RO (Reverse Osmosis) water for only 45 cents a gallon. Two 5 gallon refills costed me $4.50 Over 30 contaminates removed through their RO system. You can also get higher quality alkaline water for 79 cents a gallon. I'm also seriously considering buying one of their complete water filtration systems for my home. The systems start at $895 which is ultra reasonable compared to other quotes I received. read more

About half of my trips to this store I leave with nothing due to the machines being out or order or the card reader not working. Any normally run business with the same products would crush this place competitively. I wouldn't mine leaving empty handed if it was in a better location, but the parking sucks, often blocked off with their own trucks, plus Victoria sucks as it is. So lucky to have a place located near us to get our alkaline water fix! They have dispensers outside that are open 24/7 for convenient refilling. I personally like to go in to the store. The staff is always so helpful and friendly and there are plenty of filling stations - reverse osmosis, distilled, and alkaline all with multiple spouts! Reusable bottles are also sold here from glass to bpa free plastic in various sizes. They also have numerous water dispensers and I believe that you are able to rent them. I also recently decided to pre pay for my water which saves you about $12 for 100 gallons! read more

Our serviceman was efficient, not talkative, thorough, honest and took care in his work. We had minimal water spitting afterward and our water tastes super clean! One of the guys who works here is rude and passive aggressive. I was asking him about the different water options and which is good to drink for which purpose. He responded with, "I'm not a doctor." Duh, really, you think I thought you were a doctor working at a water store. It is useful to share information about what purposes some people may choose certain water. That is just part of describing what your products are and why. Their manager asked them to do something and when she left the room, both male workers rolled their eyes and said things about her under their breath right in front of me. That was not professional behavior. Then, another time coming in, I asked him what the difference was between the water inside versus in the outside machines. He, once again passive aggressively, said that I can get water inside or outside. I clarified that I know this but I am wondering if there is some kind of difference, like does the outside water only include certain kinds, is it so that we can get it while they aren't open, etc. He really should not be in a customer-facing position. read more

I have to say that my experience with Ventura's Water Store was great! We had a 10 year old RO system and wanted a more efficient one. They were fully transparent about all of their pricing and about 1/2 the price of another water company we had used in the past. The other company would not even tell us the name of the RO system they were quoting on! We had a couple of glitches that required a 2nd service call and Casey (the installer) promptly came out to fix the issue. Casey was gracious and patient as well as John at the store. Bought a 5 gallon jug container the seem split, took it back two days later and could not get a replacement because I couldn't find my receipt. I offered to show them on my bank app but they said no. The lady at the counter was rude and even rolled her eyes at me like I was trying to get over on them. They lost a customer. I used to like the convenience of getting my distilled water here on my way home. I pre-purchase my water so I can just come in, fill up and go. But for the past several months they've been out of distilled water on a regular basis. The whole point of going here to fill up the bottles I have is to avoid buying plastic bottles every time I need distilled water. I hope they get whatever their problem is fixed and that it stays fixed. If they don't, I won't be pre-purchasing any longer and will get my water needs met somewhere else. read more
