I love not having to drink tap water anymore (non of my filters were good enough lately) and the service is great. The store staff and billing however... is TERRIBLE. I never know how much I owe because their paper service is ridiculously behind. You can call, but there's a 50% chance their system is down. I went to the store to pay my bill yesterday, and after I complained about their billing (it was about $14 more than I was expecting because their mailings are so slow) I was told that they now took payments online. Went to the website... no. There's just a mention that they hope to soon. I've been hearing that since I signed up. The staff is that same lazy bro style that is part nice and part apathetic. I mean after telling me to go online to pay, they didn't even bother mentioning their website. They misinform and don't ever go out of their way for the customer. At least at the store. Beware, you must have your empty bottle out in the morning of the delivery or else they will not deliver a full bottle. When I spoke to the customer service person she said "it's stated in the contract". I guess I didn't see that so my bad. My complaint is that I just started this service (this is my 1st delivery after initial set up), and nobody, from my first inquiry and the subsequent communications, made mention of this. Since I have gotten service with Ventura Water store I have tried to give them a change. Since the beginning my softener was not installed correctly. When they came back I had to pay for them to fix their mistake. My water softener doesn't work properly, it resets itself. This problem causes for the system to start running on random times. I have been in the shower and left with no water. Two times they come out and instead of replacing it, they re program the unit. When I call to ask to please help me fix the problem, I am sent to voicemail and no return phone call. Not good on customer service. read more

One star is too much for this business. They have the worst service and are rude. They have the highest prices in Ventura county and are often out of RO water. Everyone at this water store is friendly and knowledgeable. They are helpful when asked any questions in regards to filtration and products etc. They sell some neat products for sale like water bottles and pet accessories. The water store has a variety of water dispensing machines located on the exterior of the store front which sell alkaline and other filtered water( the machines take cards too). This is a great option to get the water your household needs early in the morning or late evenings. Definitely my go to for drinking water in Ventura. read more

I have been driving to the water store from camarillo for over 25 yrs now. Been a customer for 30. Even though there is water store in camarillo i was getting a better deal keeping my 30 yr act there. After monday night thats No longer the case. I had been out of alkaline water for 2 weeks becuase i was inable to drive to vta . When i finally made it 15 min before closeing they told me i couldnt fill up my 4 jugs with alk. Water becuase they were ALLMOST OUT. They said i could only get 10 gallons. I asked if they would have more by morning not bcuz i was willing to come back but so i could understand why they were limiting just minutes before closing. I asked if they were expecting a big rush of people in the next 10 min. As the girl i had never seen before proceeded to take my water bottle that was allready 1/4 full out from under the spicket and put it under the next one over with distilled water. I cant begin to express all the ways that is WRONG!! well i could and i could take action but i wont becuz im not that person so this is how i will get over it by writing a bad review. With that being said this is my 1st time doing this. With everything going on and around this day and age you dont want to be handleing over peoples food and drink. We have a house hold that unfortunetly has lots of medical issues that. Surround cancer, low Igg, auto immune ect. It matters what goes in to our digestive tract and mixing waters like she did ..well it may not seem l i ke a big deal to some but lets just say that bottle wont be used by my immediate family members It should have been replaced but i was so mad i wasnt thinking straight. She told me that thier truck needed to be filled before their customers that come in the store! ( that just drove 17 miles to get there.) And im sure that truck probably didnt leave until morning - when they could have just added the 10 more gallons then if they were allready even scheduled to be delivered that day. So i just emptied my act. From there and said i wont be back. I work retail, i know all about pick ups, deliveries, schedules, and CUSTOMER SERVICE. All in all this is probly the push i needed to get water elsewhere closer and make life easier for myself . Im used to being that " LOYAL CUSTOMER" and thats why i havent done it yet. The owners there used to be good people but i havent seen them in years . Since the vons parking lot days. I used to love the Ventura Water Store but I have to say, after 3 separate occasions of them being totally "out of" reverse osmosis water all within the last month I'm getting really tired of wasting both my gas and my time. I drive all the way across town to avoid using the disgusting grimy water refill stations outside of grocery stores...but it seems like now I will have to start calling The Water Store before I do that, just to make sure they actually have water, their only product, in stock. read more

Clean shop, friendly staff, GREAT WATER! They are personable and some remember me by name and I only make it in there maybe once every 2 weeks. They have offered to take my water to my car and see them doing the same for others. They used to have coupons which I'd always try to us but even regular price is decent and worth it. I'm beyond happy with the technician, Casey Smith, who provided such excellent service to me today!! I was scheduled to have a new rental water softener installed and an old softener hauled away, (what I and the realtor and contractor I had hired assumed was an old, non-working unit left there by the previous owner of my newly purchased home). Instead Casey recognized that despite everything being disconnected for over a year, that it probably just needed to be tweaked and reconnected and I therefore could save a lot of money! He reconnected and explained everything thoroughly and ran it through a cycle while he went to take care of the next customer. He came back promptly when the cycle was done to test that the water had been softened. Remarkably, it had!! He went the extra mile to put in a 50 pound bag of salt sitting in my shed so I wouldn't have to. He took no money, and said I would only be billed a $75 service charge. I'm thrilled he saved me from wasting my money on a new unit before the one I had needed to be replaced. It probably has 2-3 years left on it, he told me. He made sure he didn't leave before all my questions had been answered and gave me his contact info should I have any problem. He was such a pleasant guy, very courteous and efficient. I've used the water store since 2008 to service my reverse osmosis machine. It was great until Ricardo started coming to service. Ricardo would complain because it wasn't their system. I finally asked them to send someone else. They sent Mike, and he couldn't remove one of the canisters because it was too tight. He took the whole unit to the truck to try and remove it and broke it. He said, "I broke the whole unit so I'm going to give you a whole new system" I said I hope you don't get charged for it. He said no I broke it, I have to replace it. So he did. A week later I got a bill to replace the unit. I called the company to find out why I was being charged so much more than my normal service fee. I spoke to Jason. He was very nasty and said I complained about the color. I said I think you are mistaking me for someone else. He said "ENJOY YOUR NEW SYSTEM AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SERVICE IT" then he hung up. I don't like the taste of ordinary Ventura tap water since setting up residence in the county and I know I don't like it as I can always tell the difference in restaurants with and without at least a water softening system. So I got a three gallon jug and a few years later another threefer happily filling them twice a week and drinking to my hearts content. Three vehicles later and more than a few drops and dents the oldest jug sprung a leak so off to the water store I went. What a nice little business! Good selection of containers ranging in size and shape from 1-5 gallons and crocks to flip them upside down into. Different varieties of water also available but I just went with the reverse osmosis option. The final star is strictly for customer service. I don't care what you are selling but good service is always contingent upon knowing the product line. These two gentleman were great and I appreciate one took the time to lay out all the options and the other rang up the purchase promptly and with a smile. read more

I've been going here ever since I moved to ventura 2 years ago. I highly recommend it. It's the only place I get my water. Bring in your water bottles or pick some up for sale here and it's easy to fill them indoors or out. They have faucets in the building and automated machines outside. read more

Our old under the sink osmosis water sytsem was dying. Signed up for a rental system...$18 a month and they change the filter once a year...that's a good deal. The water tastes so much better and safer when run through the osmosis filter. The rental seems better then owning, you need to change $100 in filters every year anyway (if you own the system). You will find you drink more water if you have a system. :) read more

Great tasting water! Though living in Ventura is awesome, the taste of the water simply is not. The water here is just $.25/gallon and is open 24/7. They are great at keeping the equipment sanitized and clean and, during the day have people inside the retail store available to help with any problems you may have. Drink up! read more

Water Store - they sell water, what else. Of course they also sell water dispensers of various sizes. This is in their new location after moving from their long time location on Telephone Road. You can get water that has been filtered via reverse osmosis or distilled water. You can buy the water by the gallon inside the store or using the dispensers outside of the store. I believe all of the dispensers outside provide reverse osmosis filtered water. You can save some money by purchasing water at 100 gallons at a time and then just come on in whenever you need it and your balance will be deducted appropriately. Staff seems to be nice enough, polite and helpful whenever I have needed help or I have seen them helping other customers. Save those little water bottles by buying water in bulk. read more

My first visit to Ventura's Water Store was pleasant. The person behind the counter helped me find a water bottle that would suit my needs, explaining the difference in materials and sizes. He also took time to go over different water options and pricing, including a special discount. I decided to try the Alkaline water and am very happy with the taste. At 95 cents a gallon, it's a good price, too. The last time I went into the store to refill my bottle, it was approaching closing time, plus I only had change to pay with and the worker behind the counter was super friendly and patient with me. I never thought I would be writing such a bad review about any business, much less The Water Store. Their customer service SUCKS!!!!!!!! I had bought a one gallon bottle and had it filled with water. When I got home (I live 5 minutes away) the bottle fell out of my car before I could even grab it and it broke. This company bought out a water softener service company. They were supposed to service my unit. They scheduled an appointment. The technician never showed up!! I called the office to advise me that they had to cancel, but never called to advise me. The woman I spoke to was yelling to a customer while taking my call. Advice to new customers for home water softener rental - shop around first. I called the Ventura's Water Store for a water softener, which they installed at a charge of $35/month. No installation fee was required, no contract involved. Soon after getting the system installed, I received an advertisement from Water Pro offering the same system for $25/month, first two months free. When I called Ventura's Water Store to see if they would match the price, Jason told me they could not. When I asked about having their system taken out, I was told there would be a $60 de-installation fee. This I had not been told when I had the system installed. For now, it looks like I am stuck. So, my advice to you, do what I did not do - shop around! read more

Ricky was very helpful and nice. We decided on water store becuase of great referrals but am left somewhat disappointed. Basically from appointment timeframe to 2 of their employees telling us to remember to use our axxess cards. I was called day of appointment told that he could come early, I said I'd rather keep time of 1 to 3 response was pretty much it would be after 3 which I took as being passive aggressive so I agreed to meet earlier. I has specifically chosen a water spigot that installer didn't bring. Time came to pay bill, I went to store presented my axxess card; told that I cannot use it because I got a discount for getting reverse osmosis and soft water system. They did a rigamorole of taking my name and number, said they are mom & pop, would take care of me. Ends up they will not give me axxess discount by reading me the wording of their axxess offer. Point of story is that their employees referred to their axxess deal but they didn't stand behind their employess words because they "spoke out of turn" or go the extra mile to have a customer feel taken cared of. This is a shady operation. Apparently, they offer a discount program, which they NEVER tell anyone about, but when you confront them, they'll point to a very obscure sign that no one ever notices. I only found out after creating an account with them, and after SIX YEARS LOYALTY, AND spending almost $800 on soft water service. When I heard the person in front of me mention it, I asked the person behind the counter why they never tell people, he said, "Why should we??!" and pointed to the sign, which as I said, NO ONE can easily see. I asked to speak to the owner after they refused to accommodate some type of discount based on all my purchases and yrs of loyalty (I originally signed up in 2013 for health reasons, cancer, and was very sick the day I made the acct). Even the owner couldn't care less and had the same attitude! After making an issue of it, and stating that I'm in real estate and have referred them tons of business over the yrs, and sent my clients there for soft water hook-ups (they get big$ for that), he then reluctantly told me he'd call me back and consider it... it's been over 30 days since and not a word. We have used Ventura's Water Store for over 10 years now. First getting our water at the store in bottles, then having the RO system installed in our home. Last year we had them install a water softener. Their customer service is the BEST! With their softener service they deliver the salt (included in the monthly rental) you just have to call and ask. Several weeks had passed and I had forgotten to call, Ricardo realized he hadn't been by my house in a while and took the initiative to stop by and see if we needed salt.
