A black woman requesting an exchange of a product that she stated was incorrectly advertised and sold to her. The cashier refused to exchange or provide a refund even though the customer stated that the item was never used and she only purchased it about an hour prior and recognized the error when she got home. The customer became visibly distraught and began to cry after minutes of pleading her case. The cashier resolved to calling the police on the customer. There were multiple black women shoppers who witnessed the incident and decided not to purchase any of the items in their own carts if this customer was going to be treated in that manner. Most of those women pointed out that the clientele is predominantly black women and should be treated with compassion, understanding and respect. It is truly disheartening to read the prior Yelp reviews (dating years ago) with similar undertones. read more

I came to Venus after visiting a stylist and wanting to get a product she suggested. Upon entering Venus the size alone took me off guard. It is extremely large for a beauty supply. Because it is so large I had to ask for assistance to find the product and oddly enough the employee told me she didn't know. Not, let me check with someone else but just she didn't know, So, off I went into the vast store to locate the product myself. This place was alright, I was here visiting from out of town and I came here because I read up on the previous reviews that they had a huge selection to choose from for a good wig. The lady I had asked to help me with a few wigs I was deciding on acted like she didn't want to help me and gave me vague answers. Luckily my girlfriend was with me and we were able to decide on a good wig for me. Other than that they do have a very good variety on wigs for reasonable prices but be prepared to find it yourself when you go in this store. read more

I've been a customer for years. I have four girls; so I was always there purchasing shampoo, conditioners and products to promote healthy natural hair. I suffer from alopecia and while I purchase my wigs online for the most part I would, on occasion, purchase a wig from time to time in the store as well. The wig collection, although large, is actually pretty limited if you know what you're shopping for. Its like having a lot of the same thing over and over again but because I don't rely on them for my hair, it never really bothered me. Until - I brought a family member visiting from NYC. She was amazed at how huge the store is but it ended there. I've never been exposed to such rudeness before in my life. From the moment we walked in the store, we were watched by the cashier who never managed to remove the frown from her face as she scowled at us. My daughter picked out some eye shadow but dropped one and one of the staff members rushed over and started searching under the display as if my daughter was trying to steal. She started to approach my daughter until she saw me then tried to insist that my daughter broke the display. She hadn't. The final straw was when I went to purchase a wig. After perusing the collection, I asked a staff member to take one down. I was fully intending on purchasing the overpriced unit and was looking at the wefts and lace in the wig when the staff member came over and yelled at me saying, "Can't you read the sign?! Don't mess up the wig!" I assure you the style of the wig was never in danger. I simply thanked her as I pushed the wig back towards her, grabbed my children who were in line to purchase items of their own and walked out of the store. I will never return. If you can't appreciate the customers your business caters to, you shouldn't be in business. We should not give these people our hard earned money just to be mistreated and disrespected. I don't expect special treatment, but they are incapable of fostering an atmosphere that leads to having a friendly relationship with their clientele. WOMEN OF COLOR, LISTEN UP! This place is absolutely HUGE!. It is located at the corner of Pleasant Hill Road and Peachtree Industrial Blvd, in the Kroger Center. I've past it often but never took the time to go in until today. It has all things HAIR! Rows of synthetic/natural hair, wigs, accessories, products and even clothing items. I of course am only interested in the hair care products, (shampoo, conditioners, special treatments), but found myself overwhelmed by the sheer size and volume of this store's content. This is a place that I would visit very early in the morning with a specific list and a plan, otherwise you could be wandering around in here for hours. I just love all the options! Regardless of whether you have relaxed or natural hair, I am convinced that you will find any product you need. I found a seat for my husband and started to shop. I ended up getting a couple of products, (competitively price), and was on my way. Please be aware of their return policy. They do not give refunds, only exchanges under certain conditions. Since I only buy known hair care products, this would not be a concern for me but may definitely be of concern for someone purchasing clothing, wigs, or weave. This beauty supply store is very large and has a variety of wigs, hats, weaves & hair care products. It is always very neat but be mindful when purchasing products Bc some of them are old (fingernail polish, haircare products etc). This is a well stocked beauty supply and convenient due to their location. However they lack customer service skills. As soon as you enter you can feel them stare down your back. They continually walk past you if you stand in an aisle too long and will stare at the camera above the register if a black person walks to the back of the store. They are not helpful and on more than one occasion will point to where an item is located instead of walking over there with you. I will be driving an additional 10 minutes to go to a beauty supply that at leasts treats me like a human being. Black woman are their primary customer base yet they treat us like criminals. This place deserves a ZERO RATING. I've been coming here for the last two years faithfully every Saturday and today, I came to try on a few wigs with friends. The lady was so rude and even didn't want me to try one of the more expensive wigs because I would"mess it up". Then asked me to pay the $1 for the cap to her instead of at the register. I have NEVER came in this store and not made a purchase, also paying for any cap with or without a wig purchase. This is not customer service and is also very rude. I don't want to make any assumptions about race being a factor because the other people I've interacted with in the store are typically very sweet. I've been going to this store for years and they've always had a huge selection of beauty products. This seems to be the hair extension capital...wall to wall hair and wigs. Along with that, they carry every hair % beauty product line you could ever want. I found salon brand products and regular store brands, like Pantene. I'm usually there for their wigs and I find that they need to stock more natural kinky styled wigs for the sistas. They have crochet hair in the packs which is great if you have time for a weekend project like that but to run in and grab a fab kinky wig, nah! I still like what they have and know not to spend 2 hours in there with wig lady looking and trying on wigs, even though it was a bit fun! still check it out. read more

This is a really huge store with a very wide selection of all hair needs. However, they have sketchy tactics in pricing such as having sale prices on items only to get to the counter and they always seem to claim it's for a totally different item that is not marked on the sale sticker (happen to me twice already). Most of the staff is helpful and nice but there is a cashier that has been there lately and this particular lady reminds me why I stop shopping at these type of stores in the first place. She's not very helpful and arrogant and seems to not acknowledge you whatsoever while she's ringing you up, basically she doesn't make you feel like a valued customer. Now I go to Alpharetta to Ultra Beauty and they are the best in customer service and they also have reasonable prices and its worth the long drive. read more

If I could give this business less than 1 star I would. I used to go to this salon all the time, it was my go-to salon. The people there used to be very nice, friendly, and patient. The last two times I went in there, the people in the store were, not nice, not friendly, and very impatient. Basically, they acted as if they could care less if I purchased a product in the store or not. Their wish is granted. I will never shop in this store again and although I have recommended that several people shop there, I will rescind all of those and not recommend them in the future. RACIST--- They are rude and obnoxious . At one point they had a sign telling people they weren't allowed to have their cell phone out and record, here's why you would want to.... TODAY my best friend and I went there in a rush to get some Black soap and African Shea butter and as soon as we get there , NO GREETING THEY JUST WATCHED. Okay ...we mind our business and we noticed two Black ladies and an Asian lady walking out (they had been there for a while and got no help which they complained about while leaving). At that point I was looking for WitchHazel by myself because NO HELP just stalking by these unhelpful people. I gave up on that because it's annoying , and head over with my and my best friend to pay, they ask debit or credit , my best friend hesitates and decides credit. Then they asked her for her ID. She checks her wallet only to realize her ID was in the car, she says no problem and heads to get it and one of the ladies in the front tells the other put the things back because my best friend isn't coming back. I said no she's coming back she just went to the car to get the if you made a big deal about. She fakes smiles and the other lady looks INSIDE THE SHOES , not to check if they were the same size but if there was something in them. I'm calm because I was surrounded by other Black women and young ladies and felt safe. Then it starts getting busy and the cashier packs all the items to hand to me. NEGATIVE! You wanted her ID you're gonna wait on it! So my best friend comes hands the lady her ID and I tell her in French what just happened and that these jerks are prejudice they didn't ID the couple next to us paying credit. My best friend then asked them what was the reason to ask for her ID. The lady was shocked, she didn't answer, my best friend politely insisted and she tried to lie and say oh they ID everyone so my friend said everyone ? The lady was still holding onto my best friend's ID and card like she wouldn't give it back and stayed MUTE ( Realizing that she was sounding stupid because the couple next to us and the lady before did NOT show ID and paid with card one debit one credit! ) again we pressed to know why, and her co worker was like" oh sometimes the name and the ID don't match" ( So your super powers told you to check?) She knew it was a lame excuse the SHAME ON THEIR FACES WAS OBVIOUS.My best friend pushed further saying that's the only reason? SILENCE. She knew her PREJUDICE was the ONLY reason. She made a big deal about ID but The Gag is she couldn't read the name (We can prove this) I understand Identity theft and the countermeasures. But that's NOT what this was! It's cool if you wanna be a racist in America in 2017 but This is Duluth you can open an Asian or White centric store (as there are many) and not deal with Black people.
