They took me right in and a gentleman named Sun/Shon? (my gawd, I don't remember his name) did a new set of nails and then did my pedicure and my hands & feet are so MUCH MUCH better than they were when I walked in there. I have been going to this place since May about twice a month spending about 150.00. I recently went and I was being charged 50.00 for a dip manicure. it took her about 30 minutes maybe a little longer. when I went to pay this time I was being charged an additional 6.00. When I asked about it she said price increase. however, on the pricing sheet there was nothing saying about this. I have gone several times to this place over the last several years end up leaving because they over charged. For Mother's Day I received a gift certificate for 10.00 off. when I gave her the gift certificate she highered the price so I still paid the same as I did the time before. I'm actually disappointed. My 15 year old Daughter and I walked in for service at 5pm. We got 2 full sets and 1 pedi. The pedi was fine, but the older lady who started my nails and ditched me, after only applying 3 nails with glue.. for her appointment that was 45 mins late, was the problem. She said " someone else can help you". And walked away. This is the same lady who decided to say some very inappropriate words later during payment for their service. I will say the younger lady who finished my nails was super nice and she did a good job. Now.. when I go to pay the $200 for our service, which included $15 for each person who did my Daughter's nails and mine... the card reader declined my card twice. I find it very tacky and distasteful being told, "You're card denied, you are broke, no money in bank" in front of my Daughter, all because their tap to pay didn't work. Yet, when they manually inputed the numbers, it went through no problem. Instead of this possibly being looked at as an electronic issue, this is what she assumed. You know.. there are plenty of other nail businesses in town that I can choose to spend my money at. After the way I was talked down on tonight, I will go elsewhere. I get my nails done by Tony and he does an excellent job. I like the fact that they honor the appointment time, my nails never break, and there's not a bunch of screaming kids in there lol. The manager answers my calls and refers to be by my first name which is a nice touch. They give good pedicures and have a wide variety of nail colors and powders to choose from. So my first time having pedicure at this place and it was the most horrible experience of my life. she never said a word to me just tapped my leg. the wax was so hot it felt like my flesh was burning off. I have my own business and when your giving a service you shld always make sure your customer is comfortable and your not causing any pain etc. Depending on the service my clients are receiving if it involves massage or extractions or hot stones or wax , I always make sure to ask if it's to hard or hurts or burns. well not here. First time I came Kim did a great job on my nails, 2nd time was a different person and the nails are ok. My only issue is I was charged $40 for a full set my first time in and then my 2nd time for a fill and fixing 2 broken nails I was charged $51. I was in too much of a hurry to ask why the difference due to it taking 1 1/2 hrs for the fill. May not come back due to the prices but the nails are ok, I recommend Kim. read more

I picked a certain dip color and the lady doing my nails said it would be brighter than the sample, but would "lighten". Not sure why, but I figured she is the professional. After I was done, the color did not lighten. She then went ahead and painted my girl's nails. Service was friendly. Everything was clean. I really want to like this place, I've been many times now with mixed feelings. They're super close to my house which is probably why I keep returning, but I'm not sure after today. I started a load of laundry before I left my house, I got home before that load was finished washing. Main nail lady who answers the phone is awesome. Older lady who always looks mad and never smiles, does a good pedi. Young man who barely looks 18, phenomenal work and very chatty. The middle aged man with the glasses, pedi is okay, nothing special. Older gentleman, who I had today and have had another time in the past, should not be allowed to do pedicures. I thought the first time maybe he was just having an off day, but again I'm disappointed. "Luxury" pedicure, $42, lasted 45 minutes tops. He used very little of every product - scrub, mask, lotion - the very light calf massage lasted maybe a minute on each leg/foot. He was so sparing with the lotion that half of that minute was tugging on my skin and irritating it because the lotion had already soaked into my skin. I again have really really wanted to enjoy these visits but unfortunately, depending on who is providing service, these visits have been hit or miss. Hoping they read reviews and pull him off pedi duty, as it seems I'm not the only one with this experience. read more

This salon, in my opinion, is the absolute best in the Yuba-Sutter area. The shop is very clean and the staff is great. Very friendly, very chatty, and they take pride in their work - they aren't just all about cramming as many people in as possible. They ensure that you are happy with whatever service you may get. They offer all types of manicures and pedicures, gels, acrylics, glitter, french tips, UV, waxing, facials, etc. (you get the idea, right?) They have great hours - 9:30am-7pm, Mon-Sat, so you don't really have an excuse not to go in here. I initially came here on the recommendation of a coworker, and I'm very glad I did. Derrick applied a full set with glitter tips, and I had absolutely NO LIFTING for over three weeks (and I wash my hands over twenty times a day). The fills are flawless - no little lines. Their pedicures are fabulous and their pricing is very competitive for this area. They always sanitize everything between clients, and a lot of shops around town are pretty lax about it, but not these guys. Everything is always clean and tidy, and even the pedicure chairs are wiped down routinely, and I have never seen them wiped down in any other salon. Ever. And I have been to almost every single shop in Yuba City and Marysville. No joke. I've also noticed shop owners from other "upscale" salons in here getting their own nails done. Honestly, I'm a pretty patient person and rarely ever review a place. I live down the street and have gone to this spot about 3-4 times now. I've learned they're so inconsistent in quality, they rush, or they take freaking 2 hours on a PEDICURE with a crappy turnout! Told me $30 for my pedicure then charged me $40. So far so good. I moved back to NorCal last year and have been the hunt for my new go-to place. I have been to Venus three times and so far have been happy. I think there will always be something that isn't exactly what I am looking for or wanting but the bottom line is that I leave with my nails and toes looking fresh and the gel manicure lasts a full two weeks (plus a few days). Definitely better than other places in the Yuba/Marysville area. They are closed Sundays so that's probably the main downside for me because I commute to Sac M-F for work and have limited time to get in for an appointment. read more

I am very very picky about how my nails and toenails turn out. If I am spending money for a service I want it to be my way and I want it to be done really well. Plus I want to be treated with respect and appreciation for my business. This nail salon hits all of those wants and more. From the minute I walked in the first time, they have treated me so nicely. They are playful and sincere and chatty. It is very rare that they speak to one another in their language and when they do, you do not feel as if they are talking trash about you or other customers. This is a big, big problem at other nail salons so it is refreshing to not have it here. Another big plus here is that they DO NOT pressure you into upgrading your pedicure. Other salons ask you two and three times during your pedicure if you want to go with the more expensive option. They also do not ask you if you want a flower a millon times. They encourage it and then drop it if you say "no". They offer every client water or soda and a snack when you arrive. One time I came straight from the grocery store due to a time crunch and brought my milk inside with me. They were very sweet and offered the use of their refrigerator without my asking. As for cleanliness, they are very particular about this. They do clean quite frequently when you are there, inbetween clients and before your pedicure. The chairs are very comfortable and are in really nice condition. The music they play is relaxing and the decor is refreshing. Of course, the most important thing is the quality of their work. Well, I say that it is EXCELLENT. I have referred many of my friends and co-workers there. They were all very pleased. I have been very happy with the detail that they put into your cuticles and nails and the scrubbing of your feet. I think the massage could be a bit longer and stronger but is not a reason to give them a bad rating. I have started doing gel maincures since becoming their customer and loved them so much that I encouraged my adult daughter to get this service instead of "fake" nails. She was not sure but the salon encouraged her as well, even though they would have made more money on the new set of nails, both that day and over time. She was very pleased with the results. So, I recently gave this shop another opportunity, since I've been forced to find a new mani-pedi lady after mine skipped town in the middle of the night. I hate when they do that This time I went in for a gel mani and I'm really pleased with the results Yay!. Trulee (NOT spelled correctly) did a great job. I will say that $32.00 for a gel mani is EXPENSIVE!. However, this is my first one, so I'm a bit naive when it comes to "normal" costs. Their entire menu of services had LARGE price tags all around. I was disappointed with my today's visit I went there to get pedi and gel nails I got the luxury pedicure $42 but the service provided was not good for $42 the person who was attending me was a older man he started off by scrubbing feet removing old polish, put some scrub and mask on my legs and feet for abt a minute or two an rinsed it off than he put wax on and abt 2 minute massage light handed and that was all he started to apply nail polish. My toe nails were not in shape he did not shape them at all. He than started doing my nails the under polish was great but when he started to a design he could have just said he doesn't know or called for someone's help but no in this case he tried the first time and removed and then the second time he did a design completely different and thought I wouldn't say nothing abt it but I did and told him to remove it. This time was a bad experience and was not worth the $42 I paid for the luxury pedicure. read more
