I came here to get a manicure and pedicure because my usual place is closed on Mondays. I came here because I read so many good reviews. I must've gotten not the best nail tech because she was so distracted and seemed rushed during my entire service. She was looking around, checking her phone, getting up and down a couple times during the service. I received no foot massage as listed in the service description and no callus remover that was also described in the service book. The manicure was just as bad, a one minute massage and she left my nails scratched up and just didn't seem to care. My tech person was Kelly. I will not be back. read more

Honestly, I'm from Tampa and have beeen loyal to my place my entire life (Vivi Nails in Carrollwood) but I've been living in South Tampa and needed a new place. Tried it here based on the photos online. First and foremost, my first set of gel X nails last 4 weeks, the pedicure chairs are like space shuttles and SOOO comfortable. I usually go to this salon every month to get my nails done, and honestly, they do an amazing job with nails. Of course, it depends on who you get, but overall, I've always been happy with the results. Last Sunday, I went in for a nail touch-up and decided to try getting my lashes done there too. Unfortunately, my experience with the lash service was very bad. From the beginning, I felt the technician was being rough with my eyes, but I let it go thinking it was just part of the process (since I have a lot of lashes). I specifically asked for a natural look, but the result was far from natural. My eye was burning by the time I left. During the process, she made a wrong move and I'm pretty sure a lash extension got into my eye. She kept insisting there was nothing there. Then, at one point, she blew directly into my eye, saying it was something from her culture. I was in shock and didn't know how to react, especially since I don't speak English very well. I just wanted her to finish. The next day, my eye felt heavy, and by Tuesday, it started to hurt. After work around 6:15 p.m., I went back to the salon to get the lashes removed. The girl who helped me was nice and said it would've been better if I had come earlier. I explained that I had just gotten off work and that my eye was really hurting. She tried to remove the lashes with what seemed like baby oil, but they wouldn't come off easily. The process felt a bit aggressive, though she kept checking in with me to see if I was okay. I appreciated that she was doing her best to help me. By 7:12 p.m. (after their closing time), she asked if I could come back the next day because she lives in Bradenton. I said okay, but the discomfort was too much, so I went to Ulta Beauty that same night and bought a lash remover. I carefully took them off myself at home. It took me over two hours. This morning I woke up with my eye swollen, red, and irritated--the same eye the first technician blew into. I'm honestly worried I might've gotten an infection. read more

They are finessing all their customer with crazy amount of over charge to get my nails done. They charged me over $75 dollars for the most basic nails. Finally a decent salon in Tampa! I've been to a few salons and got a recommendation to try Venus after other places just didn't listen to what I wanted. The first time I called, the guy was super friendly right away and booked my appointment. Mulan has done my manicures before and she always files my acrylics exactly as I ask. They very rarely chip which is great considering how much I use my hands for work. What I like even more about this place is that when you choose to take your acrylics or gel polish off they don't treat you any differently for getting a regular mani/pedi, even though it's cheaper. This is the first place they've treated me well no matter what treatment I'm getting. I will definitely be sticking with this salon. Nicole does a very relaxing pedicure. I went to Venus Nails & Day Spa on 12/22 to get a SNS dip powder manicure. The manicurist I saw which I believe her name is Jen, was really nice & appeared to do a good job. However 4 days after getting my nails done, they started to break/chip. SNS is suppose to last 2-3 weeks on average, my nails barely lasted a week before chipping. I haven't done anything either to make them break. As of today I have 3 chipped nails and it's been a week since my manicure. It's really disappointing given how much I paid for my manicure for it not to even last a week before chipping. Overall the salon is very clean & nice. My complaint is that my nails did not last a week. The prices are reasonable but given what I paid, I expected them to last 2 weeks at least, not 4 days. read more
