This salon likes to sell you on getting gel nail polish. The nail tech will tell you that gel nails last longer, they don't chip as easily. The gel nails cost more than getting regular polish because it lasts longer. I agree with them 100%. I've gotten my nails done by Venus Nails numerous times and I know their quality. My previous polish lasted for weeks. This time around I get them done, they only lasted a week before they started chipping, peeling, coming away from my cuticle. I went in and asked them to redo them...she says gel nails only last a couple of days, depends on what I do for work and if I take care of them. I have a desk job I don't do any hard labor...if so, I wouldn't be paying $$ to get my nails done. They offered to do a color change for $22.00. I repectfully declined and asked if they could redo them - no charge, they dismissed me like it was my fault my nails didn't last.They wouldn't re do them for free. Their customer service is horrible. I felt unvalued as a customer. They don't want to admit when they don't meet the mark on their services. Pretty sad. I was becoming a regular there and was considering them my nail salon...but after this...I'm good...it's apparently all about the money...screw loyalty. read more

I've been getting gel nail polish for years. It normally last me 3 weeks. June 6th I recieved a beautiful gel mani / pedi after gratuityand tax my bill was about $110. Less than 72 hours the gel manicure starts to peel up around the cuticles on 7 of my finger nails. I go back and explained. I was told there is no guarantee on their work. I could have a gel polish change for $22. I asked could they just remove the polish and she said that would be $10. That was the rub, it's very disappointing to be charged to have poor work removed. I understand that people may take advantage of any gel nail polish guarantee offered. I also understand that service providers aren't perfect and may give a bad service every now and then, life happens. To be charged $10 to remove the shabby gel polish less than a week old is a choice. If they would have stood behind their work enough to offer a free removal I would not be sharing this experience. read more

This is my favorite nail salon in the area! I've never been disappointed with their services. The shop is always clean, they have lots of polish colors to choose from :) I always get a deluxe pedicure, they do a fantastic job with the callous removal and massage! For my hands I always do a standard gel manicure, they have lots of matching colors (gel hands, regular polish for toes) to choose from as well! Everyone who works here is very friendly! They take walk-ins and/or appointments. read more

Let me first tell you that I just started getting Solar Nails about 3 months ago and have been to about 5 different nail salons looking for that right fit. So yesterday I tried Venus Nails, they have two locations one in Groveport and the other in Canal Winchester at the Walmart, I will never go to either one again. I had a 4pm appt with Mr Hung (owner) he started off nice with asking me what I wanted. Which was to redo my french manicure. They needed a balance and to be cut down. I had cut three nails to show him the length that I wanted. Sense there was very little white from my previous french manicure I need to get them removed and start over. He got out a small flexible knife and proceeded to tear my nail off. I pulled my hand away telling him that that hurt, I did this 3 different times. He kept telling me this is what he had to do to get them off. Yes, at this I should have just walked out, but I didn't. I could just keep going but you get the idea. Nails are to short, bumpy and in pain today. Oh ya did I forget to mention I paid $55 for this. So I went home called a few places and did some research. Solar nails should NEVER be ripped off. Next day I went to talk to Mr Hung. He was so rude to me and told me that I don't know what I'm talking about. There was no talking to him. Please please please take you hard earned money to someone who cares about there customers opinions. After all this I also found out not everyone is certified to do nails there. I have had my nails done here before. I love that they have paraffin wax dip for a basic manicure. I was disappointed on my most recent visit. My daughter was going to New York for The Beatles for the 50th anniversary when they came to America. My daughter wanted a heart and 1964 on one hand and a heart and JPGR on the other....cute right? The nail tech put 4691 on her hand???? No matter how you looked at it it said 4691!!! 4691??? I asked her about it and she insisted it was right. I don't like to argue so I just gave up and we left and went to a different nail salon and had them redone. So I paid $25.00 twice!! Oh well she had a great time!! I will probably go back for a basic manicure or pedicure but not for anything out of the ordinary. read more

this place is alright. it could use some cleaning up to be honest. the guy was very nice and seemed competent. the color selection was good, but I left there over and hour ago and my nails still aren't dry? so I'm smudging them right and left. for the full pedicure and manicure it was about 50 bucks plus tip. overall, I would probably go back, but won't be making time in my schedule to return. read more

I've been here a couple of times, they do decent nails. But I wouldn't recommend you to go here without an appointment, it says walk ins but I've been here a couple of times on a walk in and they turn you away because they have all appointments booked. There are not enough technicians there to work obviously. Just go to Sunny's Nails down the street. read more

Where do I start with this place? There are a handful of things that are awful; from the outdated chairs and tables, " wall art " old polishes and unpleasant rudeness from some of the staff. I stop by this place because it is convenient, its on the way home from work. I've been coming here since highschool ( 2006 )The new owners Sky and his wife Kim have done my nails and feet for me a handful of times. I've been cut by this cheese grater thing they use and they just kept going like it was nothing. Come to find out the Board Of Cosmetology informed me that those things are illegal to use!! They are rude and low key racist , especially Sky. They cut you off mid sentence when you're trying to explain what you want without even taking the time to listen to the client. I've seen them reuse nail files for pedicures that aren't supposed to be reused. The only ones that work in there that make the visit pleasant are the other 2 techs that in my opinion are more " americanized " and actually listen and talk to clients. I'm very saddened that Venus has turned into what it is today. It used to be so nice and welcoming to clients. Giving them 1 star is generous. read more
