I got my cut and color done here and it was as painless of an experience as it could be! I'm not someone who regularly goes to haircuts or gets it colored. This was actually my first time getting it colored! The color was a bit lighter than I expected but I ended up really liking it that I didn't mind. I think it's better that you could tell I dyed my hair than the more subtle change I originally hoped. Travis, the owner, cut and colored my hair and I could tell he spends time on the color. Even as another client came, he came back to check on my color 1-2 times to make sure it was okay. My hair wasn't as short as I hoped after the first visit but I was able to come in to get it cut some more. I loved it after and I would definitely come back! I have trust issues with hair stylists because I have had so many bad or mediocre haircuts, ranging from $15-$90. I was giving up hope and wanted to just shave off my all hair so I didn't have to deal with it... But before I did, my friend recommended me Travis, and I am so glad that she did! I told him my concerns with my hair, but didn't have a specific style in mind. He carefully listened and cut my hair based on how I maintain my hair, what looks good on me and hair health. I ended up with a bob, which I had many times before. However, I don't think I ever had a bob that looks like how it is supposed to be, but Travis nailed it. It's been less than a week and I had many compliments on my hair! I can't wait to come back to get another haircut! :) Also, there's a cute dog (Cocoa) you can play with while waiting. This review is for the negative experience I had with Fanny. I found her thru Groupon as I am seeking a new stylist that is located on the peninsula and the reviews were positive. After I reached out to her via text (she didn't respond to email) she immediately let me know there would be an UP-CHARGE of $50. Keep in mind 3 things: Length is not a factor as this is a PARTIAL highlight--so it's only the roots. You need to understand participation in Groupon is to gain future customers that you would NEVER would have reached otherwise and lastly she ONLY accepts CASH...(which also says a lot). Please be aware I am not able to speak to her services as I did canceled my appointment as I do not want to do business with someone that shady. She also wanted me to purchase directly with her and circumvent Groupon. AGAIN, there is a give/take balance here for both vendor and client to create future opportunities/referrals..., as we are BOTH taking a chance here. Now let's look at the math: the Groupon cost $95 + $50 up-charge and tip $50 = $195, for a partial highlight/trim. The same services at a reputable high-end salon in SF is $200. No way on this person a hard pass. I will endure the trek to SF. read more

Best haircut I have ever had in my life and I am pushing 50. I have different not curly - curly hair and have repeatedly had my hair butchered by many hair cutters in the bay area! I can tell you I get it cut then the experience is so awful I don't get it cut for years. 6 years is my longest without a hair cut.. The rest of the shop was completely empty. And, even though she saw me walk in, she did not greet me. I sat and waited for about five minutes for someone to greet me and check me in but nothing. There was no one at the desk, so I stood up and asked if someone was going to check me in. Her response, "Oh, did you have an appointment?" Duh??? Why was I there?? I told her my appointment was with Travis and she told me he was not here. He was next door with his dog. She called him and I heard her tell him to come back right away and that he had a customer waiting. Did he return right away? No. I walked out. I got one of the worst haircuts I have gotten from this unprofessional lady, Haircut by Fanny. I told her that I want to grow my hair long, and have more movement in my hair, without any styling needed in the morning. She asked me about how many inches of layering I need in the back. How would I know? I'm not a hairstylist, that's why I'm seeing her. My hair looked better before her haircut. She styled it, and it looked fine at the moment, but it all went to hell the next day. My hair is uneven, disheveled, super short, thin, flat and unflattering. I'll post pics of before and after if this lets me. Moreover, now my hair is extra short, as I had to get another haircut. Meaning I spent over $100 now on a very short haircut I never asked for. She cut off my precious hair that I have been growing for some time, for a long-mullet. Worst of all, she is a very negative person, where I had to endure her abuse during the haircut. She unnecessarily kept criticizing my hair texture, being dry, and also asked whether I had henna in my hair. I answered her at least 5 times. After some time, I ignored her criticisms. She kept trying to sell me more services by abusing me. What a horrible lady. When I asked for some part of the refund, she refused, and wanted to fix it. Why would I want to see her again? Yet alone have her touch my hair. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO CUT HAIR, IF SHE'S ASKING YOU HOW TO DO IT. I am so upset by this experience, that I'm going to call Groupon for a refund or at the very least to warn them of this 'hair stylist' that is a fraud. read more

I had an appointment with Aria today and she's great! I came in with a coupon I got in the mail. But even though she knew I had the coupon, she still took her time to see what would look best on me. She trimmed, layered, cut the bangs, and thinned out my thick hair. At first I was a little skeptical about a coupon haircut, but I went for it anyways - and I'm happy with the results and very happy that I saved like $50 compared to where I would've gone otherwise. The reason she has the coupon is b/c she just started working there recently and wants to build up her clientele - but she's not new to cutting hair. I'll be going back to her for sure. She did not aknowlege me. The gentleman at the desk asked who I was waiting for and he told her I was waiting and still no greeting. I waited patiently for 20 minutes before approaching the gentleman to ask about my appointment. She then asked for me to sit in the chair and proceeded to walk to the back of the salon. Again, NO greeting. As she walks back, she tells the gentleman at the front counter. "Well, I wasn't done yet." I made my appointment based on HER availability.
