I'm sorry, but I just got a really bad haircut and the man who cut my hair did not do anything I had requested. I specifically asked multiple times for the front to be longer. He kept on saying it's not in style anymore but I insisted that I still wanted it, so he said ok. He started with the front slightly longer, then ended up cutting it!!! Then, I did not ask for bangs and apparently I not only got bangs, but also very very short bangs. Above my eyebrows type of bangs. I look like a mom from the 1990s. I've gotten a haircut here twice. The first time it was by a female stylist who did a good job and whom I requested the second time. When I called to ask for her, the (presumed) owner told me to come at 5:30. When I did show up though, they sent me to someone completely different. I'm not sure if said person is responsible for the cuts shown in some of the negative reviews.. but I ended up with a similar result. I asked for a slightly layered bob, and showed him a full video of the style. He ended up giving me very high layers with long bottom layer reaching past my collar bone. He also repeatedly thinned out my hair, including the very top layer of hair that you're really not suppose to thin because it then gets wiry and untamed. He repeated that the layers can't be near the shoulder or it'll flip.. so he cut two layers above the shoulder while keeping the longest below.. resulting in some type of mullet look. I asked him to please even put the length to be shorter, and after some insisting he obliged a little. I gave up and went home to trim the bottom myself and it at least doesn't look completely stupid now. I truly am skeptical this person was properly trained in hair cutting. Based on reviews, I called to make an appointment with Hilda for a women's haircut. It was my first time at the salon, and Hilda was warm and welcoming! I'm pretty easy going with my haircuts, gave her brief short instructions and she went straight away in doing her magic. She was careful and gentle with my hair, and took her time in cutting and making it even. I loved the outcome of my hair and feel the quality is worth the price! Don't get me wrong, it's a great deal for a cut + shampoo considering most mens' haircuts in this area average at $50+ tip, but you likely will not be happy. There was a significant language barrier, and lack of skill. To elaborate, the fade and taper looked very off, with almost little to no blending. Could I have booked the wrong stylist? Perhaps. Had a great experience here for a long-overdue haircut. Called on Sunday afternoon and was told they could take me right away, which worked out great. As soon as I arrived there was sanitizer and a temp check, and they started my haircut right away. He actually kept it long with enough dead ends cut off bc length have been too short (thanks for looking out, Bill). He gave me a wet & dry cut. While dry cutting, he played with my hair to make sure it fell blended together. I SUPER LOVE how he feathered out my ends and texturized my hair for style even tho I didn't ask for it. He's very detail-oriented, cool technique, & great eye for style! PRICING: My previous haircut was $40. This time I added wash (and he blow dried for cut) and it was only $5 more. I don't write reviews but I just had to leave one after my experience here. I've come here twice now, first time just for a trim. But today I came in asking for something a little out of my comfort zone. I showed Hilda a few picture references of what I wanted. Just some wispy bangs and a layered haircut. tldr; perfect place to "work from salon" if you are coming for a hair treatment that takes longer. This is my second time at this salon for a straight perm. They do a good job, and the whole process takes about 3-4 hours for my hair. Which leads to my greatest discovery this week! I brought my computer when I arrived knowing that the whole straight perm process takes time. I thought there might be some internet, and if I had wait time, I could just balance the laptop on my lap and answer some e-mails, do some work. They did one better, not only did they have internet, they have desk height counters (separate from the mirrored seating space) where you can put your laptop and work, while they perm your hair. Now this might not work if you're just coming in for a cut, but for any perm that takes longer, it made the time go by so quickly! read more

Service: This barber was very nice. I really enjoyed getting a hair cut from him. He was very understanding. I came in with extremely damaged hair. As he was cutting my hair, although it was brittle, he was still able to achieve a look that I wanted. He was extremely careful and meticulous with his movements to assure my damaged hair wouldn't break anymore than it did.
