I called to make my month long reservation and no one mentioned no credit or debit cards. The was a broken water line when I arrived. The owner parked me and I do really appreciate that he helped me park and get level. He was off to fix the water line and I was off to pick up rental car so my check-in didn't get taken care of that day. The following business day, I returned from my overnight client and was sleeping when they called me to come to the office. I finished my nap and the owner was at my door to acting like I was avoiding him. I told them when I made my reservation and him when I arrived that I was on contract and work overnight. I went to the office and was informed that they needed a paper check or cash. Who uses paper checks anymore let alone who accepts them?? Since I am consistently traveling, I don't carry cash either. I told them that I would need to call my bank and had a check issued through BillPay. I forwarded the email from my bank that check would be coming. I was again woken up the next day because even though we discussed me forwarding this email, they didn't check their email and wanted confirmation of payment. I had made a reservation for a month and have never moved sooner but I found another campground with an opening and moved there after a week. Too much hassle! If you don't accept standard payment, don't be mad when people don't have another way to pay you ready to go.

Beautiful lake, nice boat ramp and a small beach area. Bath houses are old need to be upgraded but had good hot water. Most of the camping sites are permanent sites. Only ten sites that rent. Any site you that you may rent are all great. Graveled full hook ups and picnic table. A nice tree at every site so you do have some shade. Not far to bathhouses. Will be going back there for a weekend.

Upon reflection we should have selected a campground close to 495 bc we would have had just as easy access to all parts of Charlotte (via 495) and probably more ambience. Power and water supply were adequate, WiFi was very poor to non existent. The area was clean and concealed from the main road however we did not feel comfortable with the security of the area. (Busy road, Sketchy neighborhood) Every day we heard the train and police and ambulance sirens going by which didn't bother us but some people might not like it. This location was more of a parking LOT than campground (very basic, no ambiance, no picnic table, no fire ring) The gravel lot was also pretty tight and if it had been full, it would have been a real challenge to back in.

If u r in an open lot be careful there are no dividers to help back in and the owner doesn't send anyone to help back in, which is hard. U likely bump it to OLD WOOD THAT ELECTRIC ATTACH TO IT THAT IS VERY BRAKEBLE, THEY WILL MAKE U PAY FOR IT. it is THE OWNER RESPONSIBILITY TO ADD A DIVDER OR "BE CAREFUL SIGN." Owner LIE to my insurance company and other people, she told them that I run away without paying the damages & that I try not to pay and that she waiting for almost 6 weeks for it but "forget " to tell them she gave me the bill over 3 WEEKS LATER. The bill had an extra hour charge, that fraud, it took me time to try to fix it, she slanders my character. A lawsuit will follow. I had to move 3 days earlier because the lot I move in into by my request, when it's rained it got very heavy mud! I did not know about it and no one from the office told me. I asked for gravel I was denied. I found out from another guest, THAT THE RV WHO PREVIOUSLY STAY IN THIS LOT GOT STUCK IN THE MUD & HAD TO CALL TOW ON the MOVING OUT DATE. He assisted us in backing into the proper position....he made sure we knew where the services on our site. Very quiet park....twice weekly onsite trash pick up....felt very secure......comes with cable and lots of over the air T V. Electricity is extra....propane refill in the park at a reasonable price. We stayed for a month....very resonable. We were here for a surgery at Duke Medical Center which is about a half hour drive. Several historical points of interest close by....theater....botanical gardens....lots of college sports and attractions. No on site Laundry....however several laundromats in the near by town....several grocery stores and restaurants of a nice variety and shopping within a 20min. Drive..... And the Staff handout goodies to the Dogs.....the Dogs love the Friendly Staff too.

It seems like they gave me the only spot with tree cover. There are dozens of other vacant spots with an open view. Weird but okay... They will not accept packages. So, don't bother ordering anything unless you can pickup at a nearby locker. My packages got accepted by mistake, and I got scolded when picking them up. This is crazy! One day a distraught camper with tears running down her face approached me while I was outside my rig. Turns out her dog died and she needed help moving the body. Maintenance told her they couldn't help because of THE RULES. I, of course, helped her move the body to her car. Inhumane...

First let me say that if your rig is 36ft or bigger you will have a very nice spot. All paved with the RV site concrete and level. Full hookups right there. NICE!! For the rest of the campground it is not as nice. All of the sites for bigger rigs are easy to navigate, clean and open for satelitte dishes etc. A little high price, but then again, all of the RV campgrounds are getting expensive.
