I came in on a Sunday at 4:25 PM with a few friends and was originally quoted a 45-minute wait for a pedicure. About 30 minutes later, I was told to go sit in the pedicure chair, so I assumed I would be helped shortly. Instead, I sat there for an entire hour with no water in the bowl and no one starting my service. I also asked for an eyebrow wax, which was never done during that entire time. Throughout the hour I was sitting there, employees repeatedly looked at me and walked past without communicating any updates or acknowledging how long I had been waiting. At one point, one of my friends laughed and an employee told her to be quiet because "people come here to relax." I found that extremely rude and unprofessional, especially considering we were paying customers who had already been sitting around waiting far longer than we were originally told. I was finally helped around 5:50 PM, only 10 minutes before they close at 6:00 PM. Even after my pedicure was finally started, the service was extremely disorganized. One employee started my pedicure and then stopped in the middle of my service to go help another customer. A completely different employee came over and continued my pedicure, then he stopped as well, and the original employee eventually came back just to paint my toes. I was essentially passed back and forth between employees after already waiting over an hour to even be serviced. I understand that businesses get busy, especially on weekends, but I arrived an hour and 35 minutes before closing, which is a completely reasonable amount of time to come in for a service. If they did not have enough time or staff to accommodate me, I would have much rather been told that when I arrived instead of being quoted 45 minutes, left sitting in a pedicure chair for an additional hour, and then passed between employees once my service finally began. Overall, the lack of communication, extremely long wait, disorganized service, and the way we were treated made this experience very disappointing and unacceptable. If you cannot properly accommodate a customer before closing, be upfront about it instead of having them wait around for nearly an hour and a half and then rushing and switching employees throughout their service. read more

I had an amazing experience here. I was seen right away. I got the Pearl Pedicure. Was so worth it. I happened to be driving through the town and was in need of a pedicure due to my toenail being in grown. So I looked up the best pedicure spots in Baton Rouge. They were top rated. I am so glad I came in. The nail technician took great care of me and was able to help me and relieve the pain I was in. Not only was she helpful but she was so nice and told me some advice that I may need to get the pedicures every 3 week due to the way my nail grows to prevent the ingrown. The pedicure was great. Cuticles trimmed. Nails shaped and just overall a great experience. The nail salon was clean as well. I suggest checking this place out. read more

Right when we got there, we were immediately told to pick colors and they had technicians waiting for us and ready to go. Unlike most nail salons, I was very surprised that I was seated right away. I normally have to wait, but at Vera's, I did not, which I love not waiting lol. There were so many colors to pick from, but I had a burgundy color in mind. Just moved from Los Angeles and found Vera's while searching online for a reasonably priced and comfortable salon and they proved to be the Best Experience for nails and waxing! Spoke to Mary when calling and she's my new favorite technician! Mary provided all my services (which I prefer) and did an excellent job! The gel manicure is gorgeous and the eyebrow waxing was perfect. From the attractive decor, friendly technicians, to the great music, it's really a "10." I went in to get a fill on my acrylics since my normal nail salon was closed for their yearly training, and I needed my nails done ASAP. They were only taking walk ins on that Sunday, and so I waited an hour. I asked for oval nails, and ended up with different shapes on either hand. Further, the polish was patchy and the acrylic and polish were not well applied (they were on my skin under and around my nails, and the photos show my nails after I came home and removed the extra polish myself). Further, the polish itself was not applied anywhere near my cuticle, so it already looks like I need a refill on a few of my nails after I just got them done. They're not awful by any means, just not very good either. I paid $55 dollars. P.S. The cut on my pinky was of my own doing, the salon was very gentle and did not cut my cuticle beds. read more

I love this place. So why did I give it a 3? The people here are top notch so nice and accommodating and the friend I go with always has the most beautiful detailed nails after leaving. The place itself is very clean and a very relaxed and comfortable environment to be in. The only issue I have is the wait time. You can schedule an appointment or walk in. I've done both. And it doesn't matter if I schedule a time to come or just walk in I feel the wait is the same. I don't like that. I feel as if I schedule an appointment I shouldn't have to wait the same amount of time as if I just walked in. I love this place and will continue to go...this is just a small annoyance. read more

I had the most terrible experience ever at this nail shop. Staff were incredibly rude when it came to fixing my toe nails that they messed up. Along with them arguing about the mess up they made, Ms. Mary to be specific made me wait another 30 minutes on top of the 2 hours I waited for the pedicure, to fix my toe. She then proceeded to act as if she did not know she was purposely making my toe nail shape more crocket and decided to walk away and start on another persons pedicure saying she didn't know what else I wanted her to do. The nails look good, however the guy doing my full set finished the acrylic and straight up started doing the nails of the lady next to me for 30 MINUTES. I had to wait with unpainted tips on and had already been at the place for an hour and a half. If you are in a rush do not come here. They clearly value quantity over quality. First time coming here and I have to say it's really worth your money. I will drop a picture of my nails here for everyone to see that how many efforts they have put into it. I have to say that this is quite difficult to do because I'm a bit Korean nails style but in the end they can still manage to do it for me after 3 hours by somehow. Krystal and Tony were doing my nails and I love it, they were really careful and spend lots of time to make sure that I'm feeling ok with my nails. Especially Krystal since she has spent about more than 1 hours just to do the design part for me. Even though I have been to a lot of nails stores in Baton Rouge but none of them make me satisfied. This is the first review I have ever left for a business. The service was so bad that I feel like I need to warn others. My husband and I both got pedicures done. I was supposed to get the charcoal but did not. The water was way too hot so I had to wait for it to cool down. As a result, my feet hardly soaked. They did not remove all the dead skin from our feet, or cut my toenails evenly. I also got a gel manicure done. I was told I could not get them done how I wanted (I had several reference pictures). At the end my nails were uneven and jagged. It was a complete waste of time and money. I am beyond disappointed. read more

Found this place when I was visiting my daughter in Baton Rouge. I read the reviews and decided to give them a try. I was able to make an appointment for the next day easily. The staff was friendly and welcoming when I arrived for my appointment. The gentleman that helped me with my pedicure was amiable and engaging. I enjoyed chatting with him as he worked on my pedicure. He attempted to create rapport by sharing his experience living in California once he realized that was where I was visiting from. He did a great job on my pedicure. The girl that did my nails was quiet and not engaging. She did a terrible job polishing my nails using the gel polish. I tried telling her as she did them, but each time she motioned and mumbled that she would fix it and never did. I was in a rush, so I didn't make a fuss at that time, thinking I would come back later to have her fix them. I was not able to do so. The gel polish bubbled up on several of my nails, popping and peeling off. When the bubbles popped, the undried polish got all over my hands. I was annoyed as I was visiting from out of town and did not readily have the means to clean nail polish off my hands while on the go. Overall, I think the place was nice and probably offers good service from what I could tell from the other guests and the person that did my pedicure. There may have been a language barrier between me and the girl doing my nails. I would recommend the staff be taught to listen to the customers' needs and not just brush them off.
